  1. djp posts them in whatever order he feels suitable. He usually tries to mix it up so there's a variety of games an styles, rather then chronologically.
  2. I believe I hold the all-time record, although it was entirely because of the project being delayed. Panelled 2nd Feb 07: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=7711 (although I submitted it in December I think) Posted: 2nd March 11: http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02194/ So 4 years and 1 month plus unknown panel time. If I recall correctly Nutritious will be overtaking my record shortly.
  3. Old school prog records are worth more then you might think over here. Up to £15 each is the supply is low enough.
  4. Yo, sorry didn't see this brandon. The track is being done as we speak, but cheers for the offer.
  5. I must agree with my fellow joojes, this is simply too close to the original in terms of structure/harmony. This is very impressive as a vocal performance though, and I'd definitely like to hear more from you. Just make sure you do enough to make it your own. Twist the tracks in your own way, or combine it with some other creepy themes. NO
  6. There's weird as in interesting and then there's just weird. The intro falls in the latter catagory for me I'm afraid. Harmonically it just wasn't working for me until about 1:30. While there is a lot of creative ideas here and beyond, there's just always a niggle in my ears telling me it just isn't working on enough levels. Yes I can hear the source fairly easily but everything around it makes its harder to enjoy for me. The harmony just isn't complimentary. People can still get this with the album but imo it's not quite main site in arrangement calibre. It's trying to do too much, and ends up doing nothing quite well enough for it to work as a whole. NO
  7. Excellent rhythm guitar sound and then wtf.. You just can't hear that lead man. As fixing the problem for one section fixes it for all of them I can probably justify a conditional vote here (once I hear the new version that is). Compress those leads and really make them louder dood. Nothing much to add on top of the other guys. YES, conditional on lead volume
  8. Typical willrock mix... j/k Very nice. Lots of attention to detail in lead instruments. Bit of a genre chameleon here. Chippy, boomtissy, 80s rocktopia. YES
  9. Thats ultimately an FL vs Logic decision. Whichever works better for you. You choose what software tools suit your needs and then you worry about the hardware to make it work.
  10. Srsly brandon. We can take a joke. The problem here is your joke severely lacking taste. Here is a list of lols reasons for judge bias (that are funny cause they have genuinely been used): casual bribery genre bias omg cool club girls on the internet etc And for some unfathomable reason you decide calling us racists is funny in any way? OA goes out of his way to help a remixer get posted and this is his reward :/. EDIT: I see I've been apology sniped, but I feel this is future joke advice worth leaving here.
  11. I can't figure out from the decision what we're waiting for, but we're waiting for something from the remixer on that vote. I'm gonna blame OA for lulz. The Deus Ex music is a named theme called 'Icarus' from the game used in an E3 trailer.
  12. The timing on that beat is hilarious. I'm not sure they totally fit with what you've got. I understand in this type of music people like loose beats but they just sound a bit like awkward loops to me. Interesting take on the overworld theme. I'm hearing quite a lot of pattern repetition which is a little annoying. Lines and rhythms being used several times in places they don't quite work. The levels are a little off also in places. Piano comes in very loudly both times. Strings are quite dry. I like the way Saria's theme was used. Nice harmony there. Everything after Saria's theme is basically improvising with the chords though, and that's nearly half the track. You can definitely work a lot more of the themes into this imo. I can't really think of one big reason to reject this but there are definitely a lot of small things that add up that are holding this back. You say you want to hang around the community more so definitely keep working on this. This is very strong for a first submission. Way better then mine was! Best of luck! NO, resub plz
  13. Strong start, but that thin sound never really gets filled out as it goes which is a shame. Doesn't feel like it ever drops in fully. There was a big old snare fill at 1:45 for example that gives the impression its about to get very big, and then it's disappointing when nothing really happens. Great start but this can be refined a lot on the production side to really bring it to life. At the moment it only feels half there. Likewise the ending has already been mentioned by the many. This could be a pretty epic mix but at the moment it's not been realised. NO, plz resub
  14. Yeah intro is a bit like the reanimation version of crawling. Justin was showing me this periodically throughout the development and it was just always getting more awesome every time I heard it. Excellent work man, this will be a bit of a classic I think. YES
  15. I already posted in the FB but I am post here also! Pick me plz.
  16. I *almost* got the 24DSP. My mate works for them, got me 50% off ololol. But really I don't need more then two in two out.
  17. Finally have a setup that isn't just guitars and a laptop, thought at the expense of the inards of my poor poor wallet. Quad core 2.5GHz iMac 12Gb RAM Focusrite Saffire 14 Firewire Interface AKG 240mkII Headphones <3 Fostex PM.04 monitors (really need stands for them) Logic Studio 9 EWQL Composers Collection HD on that hard drive There is a dual screen but the desk isn't currently big enough. lol@Vdrums, I have to sit on my amp to play them. Also I suck at drums. Guitars stuff: Ibanez RG1570 Jackson Dinky or something Ibanez AJD Cocobolo jazzbox Cornford Roadhouse 30w <3<3<3 Digitech Whammy Suhr Riot Distortion Sm57 (obviously)
  18. It says pretty clearly in the standards you can't just replace the instruments of a song. It has to be a meaningful rearrangement that expands on the original in some way.
  19. I approve of this message, and so does stevo.
  20. Epic is the word indeed! I can basically imagine this in the game as the other's have said. With real orchestral recordings that is. Nothing really to add to the above. YES
  21. Fishy Game: Nights Sauce: She Had Long Ears Regrettably the album art has already been printed, and the title is 'She Can Has Long Ears'. Sorry about that. I quit about 5 projects a while back because I was a bit disenchanted with the process of remixing music from games I hadn't actually played. This was the only track I was working on at the time that survived the cull just because of how silly it was. I really had no idea what I was doing for much of this. Definitely a challenge to work on, featuring several places that were really not my comfort zone at the time. Definitely a Muse influence on the first half of the track. The rest in an obscure mish-mash of Satriani, Jazz, S3&K and god knows what else.
  22. The release will actually be FLAC and mp3. This matter was voted on by the staff before and that's the consensus. Must've missed that memo. EDIT: DS sniped!
  23. They are indeed smaller, but they don't work with a lot of media players without codecs. They also don't work on the majority of mp3 players (including ipods). Bottom line is it's a great concept but it's not widely enough used and too confusing for people who don't know what they are to justify imo, especially considering the fact that flac enthusiasts will just make them using the wavs anyway. WAV is the most compatible choice that everyone can get what they want from. Again, I'm not having a debate about this, just telling you why I've made my decision.
