  1. I just got my XBox 360 premium....after an hour of hell at the Times Square Toys 'R Us. My father is watching A Beautiful Mind right now, and I have studying to do, so I will give Gears of War impressions sometime.
  2. Nintendo created its own buzz, but I think Sony's high price ultimately kills it for them. Their audience is largely casual gamers, so they generally aren't so interested in paying so much for a console. Price is the main limiting factor for me here - I just spent $400 on a brand new XBox 360 premium & Gears of War (and the XBox Live Arcade Unplugged pack).
  3. Holy shit didn't this thread just have 20 pages last night?
  4. So, there's a small chance I'll be in the city tomorrow if anyone is interested.
  5. Wow, the XBox 360 premium sold out the minute I got to Toys 'R Us today...so I'm going to probably get there early tomorrow morning (before their 7 am opening) to snag one then. This is crazy though how much is selling at TRU though.
  6. See, that's why I'm leaving soon to pick mine up for essentially $200 . The extra Wii finally came in, so soon it's shower time.
  7. Hm...I'm so rusty with the undergrad real analysis . Guess I'll get to review it in the first 3 weeks of next semester in the actual grad real analysis. So, here's a math question for anyone with knowledge of complex analysis - does there exist a non-constant function that is harmonic on the complex plane and is 0 everywhere on the real and imaginary axis? Oh and math problems are very easy to find - one can search for any AMC, AIME, USAMO, and IMO problems and post them here. There is a good chance I will be able to answer them.
  8. Alright people, make a digg.com username (if you don't have one already) and start digging VGDJ! http://www.digg.com/search?search=VGDJ&section=podcasts&process=1
  9. Well to be fair, Zelda is a Gamecube game at heart, so it doesn't take advantage of the Wii at all.
  10. So, I'm currently listening to CAGcast, and they mentioned the Wii here. It seems that there's quite a bit of Zelda criticism in there, and CheapyD's overall assessment of the system is that it still has a lot more to go. Thoughts?
  11. How much space does it take up?
  12. No contacting them for the checks necessary either. I like Microsoft, they know how to at least treat their consumers right.
  13. Dare I say, "pwned!!11"? Don't forget the image that pops up if you click the PS3 image:
  14. It's not really a time constraint with how Jose set it up - we're going to be heading down that direction anyway to Little Italy.
  15. Are microcenters located nationwide? I dont really recall seeing one by me but the offer is greatly tempting I'm not sure - I haven't seen any in NY . Edit: Oh yeah, there is one in NY, but in crappy Long Island. Here's all the store locations, and looks like none in MD. Ironically, one of them is at the site of M5.
  16. Well, right now Microcenter has an XBox 360 for $200 after $100 mail in rebate deal. Toys 'R Us has a $100 gift card with purchase of a 360 deal that ends on Christmas.
  17. XBox 360 now has a 1 year warranty Looks like I lucked out!
  18. I'm actually purchasing a 360 when I wake up tomorrow, mainly because I'll be able to get the premium for essentially $200. It takes around that pricepoint for me to really consider a console purchase, but I think it also makes a nice Christmas present to my parents as a reliable DVD player that makes use of the HDTV we have via component cables that come with the system. And lol @ the thieves caught at grand theft. 200$ for the Premium? Do tell! I missed out on the amazon sale and I'm lookin' into the 360 market myself. Just gotta have Halo 3. There is currently a deal at Microcenter for XBox 360 for $200 after $100 mail in rebate, but I'm not doing this deal - I have a special stackable 25% off total purchase coupon at Toys 'R Us, and they have a promotion that ends at Christmas for a $100 gift card with the purchase of an XBox 360. Also 60 GB PS3 in stock here if anyone wanted: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/PlayStation-3/sem/rpsm/catOid/-16622/N/20012841+20016481+20016622/link/ref/rpem/ccd/categorySpecial.do

  20. Haha woot.com had PS3s? Wow.
  21. Damn you got this all planned out. Sounds pretty good though! Oh and one suggestion - maybe we can check out Multimedia 1.0 on 6th street? It may not be a huge store, but it has the biggest oldschool video game collection I've ever seen in a B&M store.
  22. Page 2? Not on my watch! I'm not sure about a homebase...anyone has a place that can be used for temporarily leaving their stuff? So far it seems like we don't have anyone from Manhattan itself here. Oh, and do we need an XBox 360 for the overnight? I'll have one by the end of the week, so it's your call people.
