  1. I've been playing beta on PS3. I've got a level 9 conjurer so far but I don't think I'll do much more. I've never done a beta before and I don't see a real reason to play before the final release. Especially since my brother and I will be figuring out the system together.

I've got to say, this game is VERY polished. But I can't say with any certainty because I've never touched an MMO before.

Something I did want to show you was that we are doing a fan dub of 1.0 in my second linkshell. Episode 1 is out , episode 2 is done but not uploaded yet, and episode 3 script is finished.

I'm pretty shocked how good the production is on it's first episode. Usually, that's the one that is a horrible mess.

  2. Figure I'll 1-up you. Just searched "xbox one animated" and got these.

EDIT: some work sometimes and other's don't. they all work if you refresh the page enough times.

  3. So the PS3 did have it's bottlenecks.

The first one was the GPU (only half as powerful as the 360)

Second was the ram. (only 512megabytes and half was dedicated to the GPU)

Third was the slow blu-ray reader. It may have been able to hold 50 gigs, but it read data slower than the 360 did.

Then was the price............ok, maybe that isn't a bottleneck.

Anyway, I know ram has been addressed with 8gigs of DDR5.

Does anyone know about how the PS4 handles the GPU and the Blu-Ray laser?

  4. UPDATE

I'm going off my diet for now. After I got back from Frisbee, I took a 5 minute swim and relaxed on my computer for a bit afterward. My jaw started aching a little bit and my left shoulder blade was hurting during Frisbee. This is classic signs of heart attack so I kind of panicked and went driving to the store figuring if something happened, I didn't want it to happen when I was alone in my apartment. I was almost there and decided that I needed some carbs badly and was about to go into Subway. While driving, I got really light headed, broke out in a flash sweat, felt sick to my stomach, and my bpm was down to 30. Honestly, I was about to pass out on the road. I turned on my emergency flashers and ran a red light to get to work (The hospital). By the time I got there, the episode was mostly over so instead of emergency room, I went into my department and found my co-worker and asked if she could take my blood sugar. It was 81. Most likely, it was a lot lower before.

I left the hospital and went to subway and got the most carb-heavy sub on the menu (Meatball). Then I called and went over to another one of my co-workers and we monitored my BP and glucose for the next 5 hours. My sugar went up to 120 after they fed me something, but then dropped down to 80 again. I was also having orthostatic hypertension. My BP hourly was:

    117/44

    109/66

    119/67

and then something close to normal, I don't remember exactly what.

My jaw still kind of aches and there's no reason for it to and that has me worried. We'll see how it feels tomorrow. But I am never going to be doing such strenuous exercise on a low carb diet ever again.

  5. You were absolutely right. I just went almost 2 months on the no carb diet and I finally did some real physical activity since going on it. Sure I've been doing ellipticals or exercise bikes, but this time it was ultimate frisbee. And if you know me, I always give it 110% at sports. Let me tell you, I was red lining the entire time. I was up to 192bpm only 15 minutes into play. I'm happy that I'm losing so much weight, but you warned me that I wouldn't have as much energy. Oh well, worth it.

But in the meantime, I'm only halfway there and need to lose another 25 lbs.

  6. Thing is though, FF10 FF10-2, FF13, FF13-2, FF13-3, were all made by Kitase. FF14 was a failure at launch but since they got the new guy Yoshi-P to replace Nobuaki Komoto, the game has been been getting better and better. Everyone in the beta is saying how great the game is now.

And FF15 is directed by Nomura and his own team, the man behind Kingdom Hearts that has never had a bad game. (Unless you didn't like chain of memories.) Nomura's track record is very good and there's no reason you should judge it based on FF10-FF14.

    Can't wait to get a PS4 now.

  7. Absolutely no restrictions on used games. Sony has just won the internet.

I've never seen this before, fans are actually chanting "Sony! Sony! Sony!"

No question. Sony has just made a day one buyer out of me. I've never bought a system within the first 3 years of it's life before.

Uhhhh, that is, I will buy it day one up to $500. We'll see what they put as a price.

  8. Hello everyone!

    Fernehalwes here.

A few hours ago, the FINAL FANTASY XIV team touched safely down in sunny Los Angeles. For those of you wondering, this year's Yoshi-P entourage consists of myself, project manager M, and Foxclon from the Community & service department (not by any means listed in order of importance).

On our way to the hotel, we passed by something that looked eerily familiar...

    But that's not all!

Our American offices went all out and even jacked the room keycards at a bunch of local hotels serving the E3 clientele!
