Getting Cosmic Eternity all geared up with Palpable bringing the sickest of structures to my vision for the tune. Should have something substantial for a early first w.i.p within a week or two Get your lowriders bouncing, we heading out to the Wesssstcoassst ~

Just curious about getting the official OCR seal of approval and having this possibly released through the site. At what point would we find out if this project is going official, if at all?

DJ Max-E Presents: Space Grooves
DiGi Valentine replied to DJ Max-E's topic in Post Your Original Music!
Hey dude, i know who you are! Been checking in on your work every once in a while because you've got quite an old skool sound to your beats that i like. The album is sliiick! Keep up the good work -edit- That being said, i gotta collab with you at some point, man. Either that or i buy a beat from you or something. Either way in my book, collabing on a track with you has been long overdue. For real! XD -
Oh, are we changing the title then? I guess i missed that post. Someone remind me, what's the name of the planet this game takes place on? Is it the Little Planet or the Miracle Planet? I can never remember which is the official name. If you're stretched for idea's on a title, you could always incorporate the name of the planet in to title.

So, Stardust Speedway JP could become one hell of a collab tune! Oh how i look forward to this! Team Up time!! Turn it up, get down! XD

Glad to see this project actually get off the ground! Superior X, thanks for putting me down for Cosmic Eternity. As i said in the email, i'll keep you posted on what's happening with the collaborator. Since i'm doing Cosmic Eternity, i'm on the look out for a singing vocalist who can nail a r&b style. Headhunting for now, but just figured i would throw this out there. Also, i am interested in the JP version of Stardust Speedway too ...not sure if i should put my name down for it though. If no one takes it and my schedule is free enough i might snap that up too. Though if someone else wants it, by all means go ahead

Collab Rapping Anyone? - Luxerion Type-R
DiGi Valentine replied to Rukunetsu's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
Still sick beats, man! Glad to see you're still on these tunes! I especially like that ChunLi one you dropped a few months ago. That was niiiice, man! Also, i finally got around to recording on that Special Zone remix. I just need to get the vocals tidied up before the song is ready to drop. I'll let you know when it's out, man! -
SZRC - The Sonic Zone Remix Competition 2012

Nice one, SuperiorX. Didn't know we had so many bonus tunes coming through in the final bundle. Great stuff! And indeed, a big thank you for hosting the competition and keeping things running smoothly. You did a great job -

First and foremost, a huge congratulations is in order for Amph. Nice one, man. Congrats on the big win. There was a lot of heavy hitters in this competition and i always said from the get go that this thing could go in any direction. Glad to see you and your track make it to the top of the podium, that was quite a gauntlet to make it through. All the best from here on out as well, man Gario, even though i voted for Amph i did find it humbling that you brought all those artists back for the last tune. I'm not sure if i made it clear in my last post. Regardless of the fact that i may have said it sounded a bit too cluttered for my liking there's something quite noble about what you did. I wonder if anybody else would have done something like that if they made it to the final round. Anyways, the fact of the matter is you did it and i commend you for it, sir. A good and interesting final battle. There truly was never a dull moment in this, despite the unneeded drama's.. ...er ..look. Ok. From what i can see, we were celebrating the end of the competition. You came along with these posts about reminding yourself of hopes you had 7 years ago and isn't that just a tad trying to force the attention on to yourself? Why do that now while we're trying to say congrats to the finalists? And honestly, just exactly WHY would you need this competition to make your mash-up legit? I truly do NOT understand this train of thought. If this competition never existed do you mean to tell me you would go your whole life NEVER making one tune? It just sounds so stupid from where i'm sitting, i'm sorry e_e -

While i can respect Gario's decision to bring along a team of people to the final battle i just felt Amph's was cleaner and held it's direction more. To me, Gario's just had too much going on in there and sometimes less is more, ya know? Either way, a good final round from the pair of you. May the best remix win. -
Sega announces NiGHTS into Dreams HD Port
DiGi Valentine replied to Level 99's topic in General Discussion
While i can't speak for all the other ports happening in the industry, i know NiGHTS is being ported because we as fans asked for it. There were never any plans for this to happen until we ran the campaign for SEGA to make the port. So, say what you will about everything else but when it comes to NiGHTS the fans wanted this. We worked hard to get this. So blame us for this one ;P And this is personally just me but i'm all for ports. I don't think it should a companies main focus but i'm all for keeping old IP's active in this day and age. Consoles like the SEGA Saturn break leaving titles like NiGHTS to be forgotten. There's no harm in bringing them to modern consoles and if it helps to keep a company going then really everybody wins. That aside, i'm all for new IP's too. A bit from column A and a bit from column B, in my book. -
Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed
DiGi Valentine replied to Dave the Rave's topic in General Discussion
For those attending Comic-Con, try the demo on this one, it will be there for the public. They let the people play the demo at Summer Of Sonic just this weekend and the feedback was fantastic. Got a few hardcore racing fans come through too who tried it out and they agreed that this game has the perfect balance of kart game and arcade racing. -

Bumping this with the news that the other campaign we had running for the NiGHTS fans to get NiGHTS as a playable character in AllStars Racing (from three years ago) paid off yesterday as during Summer Of Sonic there was a BIG reveal in which NiGHTS is playable in this sequel. Also shown in the reveal: - Reala is also a playable character - the pair of them ARE the vehicles, since they characters have the ability to morph in to different things - NiGHTS is driven by a Nightopian while Reala is driven by a Nightmaren - Spring Valley is the race track and was shown in new beautiful modern day graphics - you drive through Dream Gates which take you to different areas, some of which were shown were Gilwings Lair complete with Gilwing Cameo and Wizeman's battle arena, complete with Wizeman cameo that fires attacks at you while you race -
SZRC - The Sonic Zone Remix Competition 2012
DiGi Valentine replied to SuperiorX's topic in Competitions
Just wanted to drop this in here real quick. I was at the UK Sonic Convention yesterday and they had a segment of the show called 'Club Sonic' (or as i like to call it, the Sonic Rave) which was exactly as it sounds. For 40 minutes they bump all kinds of Sonic related tunes and let the fans just rave like crazy. Ben Briggs 'Trash FM' and Main Fingers 'Seraphim Factory' both got played within the mix and i've never seen such a crowd jump like that. I'm waiting to see if anybody actually got decent footage and audio from the thing and if i find any i'll link it here. People were chucking Sonic plushies everywhere, hands were waving, the shit was craaazy! XD What a party, man! Anyways, due to all the NiGHTS into Dreams related news going on recently i've been involved with that so i'm going to have to catch up with the rest of the competition when i get a free moment or two. Hope all is well with you guys ~ -
I'm currently putting finishing touches to a mini Mass Effect fan EP that i've been working on recently. Just been in contact with BioWare about the project because i wanted to make sure i don't wind up landing in legal hot water or something after this EP releases and they've pretty much given me the green light to go full steam ahead, no worries. Which was nice. Thank you, BioWare But i digress. For those who know me know this will be a Rap based EP. And on one particular song i think i might be needing a male singer. R&B, ideally. No Auto-Tune though, please. Want to get a bit of soul on to this one tune here, if i can. I'm just headhunting right now though so nothing will be definite until it happens, but i would like to see what is out there ...and while i know R&B in a OCR forum is a fantastic 'wtf' in itself, i couldn't think of anywhere else to throw this request. So, yes! If you're a male singer and might be interested in singing on a fan-based Mass Effect tune then drop me some samples to your work here and i'll be in contact if i think you have what i need for this. If you ain't a singer but do know someone who might fit the bill then drop me a link to their work too. And if not then cheers for your time, see you around, Keelah se'lai ~

Ooo you thieving monkey! And that's how HipHop was made. So you're thinking like the PRO's now, BRO!!! In any case, i stand by what i said. A more developed version of this tune would be utterly fantastic to my ears ...if you wanted to do that, of course. -

I wound up voting on Brandon for this one ...but Gario. Gario, let me talk to you a second, if i may. It might be a little known fact (or perhaps not) that i'm somewhat of an Amy Rose fan and you have no idea how much i loved the direction you took that song. I just wish it could have been a little clearer. I want to hear this song given the full treatment, spend more time on it. More than a weeks work, i imagine this "Rose, Amy" tune sung by a good male vocalist to hit some fantastic notes, maybe even writing out a second verse to add a bit of variety to the vocals and flesh out more of the story of the song. I truly loved the direction you took it in, i loved the lyrics ...i just wish you had a bit more time crafting it. It would have got my vote. In fact, even now i'm kinda in two minds about changing my vote ...hmm ...argh ...i know can't though, it wouldn't be fair. But seriously, dude. Honestly. The idea you have for that song and the road you were taking it down is awesome. Please do more for it! -

SZRC - The Sonic Zone Remix Competition 2012
DiGi Valentine replied to SuperiorX's topic in Competitions
That's fine. Glad you got back to me and we spoke things out And that is exactly how i treat every track in this competition too. Granted, there's always going to be a level of personal taste as well but it always makes a vote feel more legit when you've given the songs a proper listening to and weighed them up evenly. -
SZRC - The Sonic Zone Remix Competition 2012
DiGi Valentine replied to SuperiorX's topic in Competitions
Well, each to their own. People like different things and different tastes. One style will resonate better with certain people while the same style will not with others, it's just personal opinions ...and that's what these votes are all based on, at the end of the day. At least, they should be. I was just going by what was asked of me when i started voting for these tracks.Different musicians got in to this competition for different reasons, everybody has a goal they're aiming for here, whether it be to just have fun or if you're like me you wanted to see how well a rap would go down in a competition like this. For me, it was my own test, one of which presented itself when AkumaJo asked me to team up with him. I felt it was a good a time as any to see how far a rap can go with the musicians around here. The end result provided me what i wanted to know and i was satisfied. All the best to both of you either way, as i said before. -
SZRC - The Sonic Zone Remix Competition 2012
DiGi Valentine replied to SuperiorX's topic in Competitions
-Personal Opinion Incoming- At the end of the day, i've been voting on the songs i liked the sound of, and more or less the ones that actually dared to do something original and different. Amph had this vote from me, not only because i utterly love mellow chilled out music like that but because quite frankly this competition showcased some really original takes on tunes and THAT was one of them. Sadly though, it seems the tunes i felt had the most original takes and directions are the ones that seem to be losing. But no, i hope Amph makes this one. That was one hell of a gamble on a tune instead of taking a safe route. Come to the final Sonic bracket battle with smooth jazz? Now that's admirable. By this point, the sources have been drained to death. If you're not doing something completely different then it's just going to sound samey to me. Either way though, whoever wins this one, you two did great jobs on producing those tunes. May the best remixer win! -
A Sonic CD album, anyone? (Generating interest)
DiGi Valentine replied to Rexy's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
Actually, me and DCT were throwing around the idea of doing a remix of 'Cosmic Eternity' .....the dude has a lot going on at the moment though so i ain't pressing him about it since it can wait. Buuuut, if he wants to pick up the concept again and if this Sonic CD remix album idea does go through then i guess you can consider me interested and in some ways on board, yes -

I do believe so, yes. For a racing game not to have the feature included would be like shooting oneself in both feet these days, lol XD -
Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed

Oh, it plays differently to Diddy Kong. Much differently. Don't let the alternative modes of the vehicles fool you in to thinking this is a clone of some sort. I don't think Diddy Kong Racing had tracks that changed as you raced through them, nor do i think Diddy Kong allowed for your vehicle to change while your actually racing through the course. Another thing that really is worth noting is the handling of the cars. As i said, Bizarre Creation devs jumped on board and the cars feel somewhere between a kart game and an arcade racer that Bizarre Creations of old were famously known for. It handles so smoothly, the feedback for it so far as been fantastic! Trust me, this game is awesome and will be such a worthy title to the SEGA brand once it releases. My only hope is people can look beyond the so-called 'similarities' and actually experience the game for themselves.
