same midi problem fix doesnt work (newbie!)
Zephyr replied to eddie21leeds's topic in Music Composition & Production
Just for the record, it isn't a "fix", as it is in no way broken. Okay, so I'm assuming that you imported a midi file. Are the channels "Midi Out" channels? (can you read the words Midi out anywhere when you click on the big button with words on it?) If you can, then you need to take note of what the Port LCD says (the box to the right of the word port). Now go to the MASTER channel in the MIXER and click on the drop-down arrow in the first FX slot. Choose "Fruity LSD", now make sure that the little green light next to the words "Fruity LSD" in the FX chain is lit up. Now make sure that the green light below the colored gauge on the master channel on the mixer is lit up, underneath that near the bottom, (just above the disk icon) it should say FX. Make sure that it's lit up. Now go back to the LSD panel, change the Port LCD to read the same as the one in the midi out. If that still doesn't work, you can try changing the "Deuce" to microsoft synthesizer, BUT DON'T UNLESS YOU HAVE TO. There's also a volume knob on the LSD interface which can be adjusted. Try this stuff out, try it from a new project, the bolded stuff is the most important. -

Whoah! that came out of the blue, sweet! Sadly I can't help but believe that this will encourage a ton more turtling, what with the upgradable dispenser, but the upgraded tele will be nice, however it's just another thing to waste metal on I suppose. Will you have to upgrade both halves I wonder? I also wonder if the spy will be able to get ammo for cloak while he's cloaked, cuz if he can then you'll be able to pretty much make it anywhere without worrying about running out of cloak. It'll be really nice though that you won't need to wait in between ventures to the other teams side, as when you're on your side you can just recharge with ammo easily, also I assume you'll be able to use enemy dispensers to recharge cloak as well... how devious. Interesting that it isn't a class update either, so at least there won't be a huge spy/engie rush. -

You most likely went up in rank because the people ahead of you lost points and went down past you. -

Got one of my christmas gifts early as part of the ST group buy, I now have ST 2.5, ReTank loops and Miroslav Philharmonik Orchestra CE in my arsenal, hopefully I can do some more elaborate and varied stuff now, hopefully an orchestral mix or two. See ya around! -
I quote myself, midis don't contain any sound or instrument data, so no it's impossible to have the VST instrument in the midi. An mp3 could be rendered with the audio, but there's no way to have midi and audio in one.

How to go about purchasing FL Studios 8 Producer Edition.
Zephyr replied to Halt's topic in Music Composition & Production
If you're just buying a BETTER guitar, then I'd definitely go with FL Studio first, no point in having more of the same if you have to choose between the two. When it comes down to it, do you want a guitar? Or do you want FL Studio? If you do decide to go with FL Studio this link will get you 10% off: http://affiliate.image-line.com/BDJJJAJ495 -
Just finished it, awesome game, great idea and concept, fun and challenging gameplay. Could get repetitive after a while though... The attractors confused me for a bit, but I soon managed to breeze through the rest of the game. I look forward to the full game for sure.

If it's just a midi file you'll need to assign it an instrument to have it make sound, midi data is just data, there's no sound, it makes sound when you play the file because the soundcard inserts the stock midi sounds, but DAWs use it to play instruments or sounds.

I pay 2 months at a time, it works out quite nicely. Almost sad how little use I get out of it lately though... people need to play more! -
New VGDJ Released (and YES ITS VGDJ) - pg 1 link
Zephyr replied to Brushfire's topic in General Discussion
Anything done by the mighty commentator Brushfire will be epic in the least. Whether it holds interesting remixing content and conversation shall remain to be seen... Good luck and godspeed! -
Is it a midi? Where did you load it? Is there an audio clip in the playlist? Also, if you don't know how to load a song... good luck with remixing it, it's harder than most people think.

Not sure what you mean by "switching between 2 programs" but I do know that the LSD adapts to the the sound you pick on the midi out, but if you have more than one instrument on a channel, then it will only play one sound. Make sure that each midi out that uses a different sound is set to a different channel, then change the corresponding instruments in the channels of LSD.

I didn't get in on this for the loops, and I haven't checked through them too much, but I don't think they're anything extraordinary... I'm not terribly impressed with philharmonik orchestra either, I knew it wouldn't be top of the line, but it's really meager on many levels. In fact, in many cases (harpsichord, piano) sampletank has a much better matching sound. Oh well, sampletank is great!

Sorry hoboka, but I've given up hope of getting one in this month, good luck to everyone though. -
Midi's themselves do not create sound, the reason you can hear a midi file is because your soundcard puts in sounds for you. This is a very easy fix luckily, go to the mixer and place a "Fruity LSD" effect on the master channel and change the port to match the port of the midi outs (probably port 0 but check anyways), the big buttons next to the minimized piano roll data are the midi outs.

As a matter of fact, there's 2 frogs, AND a cow! It's in Atmuh's server's rotation now, it has a few issues, but that's the way it goes. If you get a chance to play on it let me know if you find any problems, Thanks. -
Need input on music licensing deal for XNA Community Game
Zephyr replied to sgx's topic in Music Composition & Production
They should be paying YOU for the music and that's that if you ask me. While they all put in their share to make the game, they had no part whatsoever in making the music. If they want royalties for something you made, I think it's unfair, however you can do whatever you choose. I'd try to simply license it to them for use in their game and try to keep the rights to it yourself. -
Scratch that last post of mine, I got an IK account and unlocked my sampletank. I've started to download sampletank. In the sampletank sounds download it only has the options to download the first 3 of 8 parts, how do I access the rest? Or is it only the 3 that come with the L version? Thanks for any answers, please excuse my incompetence.

My new map is ready for a field test, I designed it to be a lot less complicated than my last one, it's an alpine style 2 round cp map. The first round has 1 cp and the teams fight to control the cp until time runs out. As each team caps the cp the timer is reset at a slightly lower amount until one team wins by defending until time is up. In the second round it's a standard attack/defend cp map. I honestly don't know how this will be to play, but I'd really like to give it a go. If anyone plays it and has suggestions let me know! Here's some screens, Download link: http://forums.tf2maps.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=822
