Exporting in Pattern/Song mode (FL7)
Zephyr replied to Tarnish's topic in Music Composition & Production
I'm assuming since you don't know what it is, you don't have any that you want in your project, so we're going to delete anything that might cause problems. You might want to save a backup first though. Okay, open the browser (F8), now click on Current Project>Automation, if you see anything there, then that's probably your problem. If it says "Initialized controls" then go into that folder and right-click then delete everything in that folder. Now move on to any other folders in the automation folder. If there are any, they will be named after the patterns that they are recorded on, click open one of the pattern folders (if you see any) click on one of the items with a knob in front of it contained in the folder, this opens the event browser. Press Ctrl+A, then Delete to delete the entire event. Wash, rinse, repeat for all the knob icon controls in every pattern folder, then try listening to your song in song mode and see if it's better, you may need to retweak some of your settings, but at least they shouldn't change when you switch modes. Always make sure the record button is off when you're tweaking something. If it turns out that there's nothing in your automation directory... well then it must be something else, if that's the case is there any chance you can provide us with audio files of the change? Hope that helps. -

I bet it fixed the Teleporter glitch where the glowyness stayed even when the tele was down. -

Exporting in Pattern/Song mode (FL7)
Zephyr replied to Tarnish's topic in Music Composition & Production
I don't understand how this is happening, how is it messing with your mixing? Does it sound that way when you put it in song mode and press play? My best guess is that you did some tweaking as the song was playing with the record button armed, this would embed the tweaking as automation into whatever pattern you were on, but I'm really not sure. -
Huzzah! Congrats on it finally happening, but be honest guys, we all knew it was coming. How'sabout you do a Pixiecon collab for every page that the thread grows to! Just kidding, but have a great life together!

I did, I deleted any events I could find and I even tried setting the init state, when the song started it flipped to the init state, then instantly reverted to default. It also does this on a completely new project so those couldn't be the issues. Note that it does this with every single channel that I have a midi out connected so, it's as if it's sending the values through the midi out.

I'm having a bit of trouble with ST 2 in FL Studio, I think it's more of an FL Studio problem however. When I hook up a midi out to a channel and port in ST2, when I change the volume or panning on the channel in ST, the second a pause or stop FL Studio it resets to default. This isn't a result of init song with position, or automation. It only resets these parameters, and only for the ST channels that have midi outs hooked up to them. It's messing with my volumes, anyone have a clue? If no one can find a solution I'll just do everything in my mixer channels...

No, it owuldn't be affiliated with OCR at all, but it would be used by OCR'ers, there'd be no reason for OCR to be affiliated with a writing deal. I'd almost prefer that it didn't become a competition though, it's less work this way and it's more fun with less deadlines and timing constraints. Kind of "write as you are" in your spare time sort of thing.

Sweet, and for those of you who didn't see it, the link is in his sig: Yeah, I'm a blogger now. As for the site, it could probably use a little more color, but being able to comment on stuff is nice. As for what the prophet was saying, I also think it would be cool to have a seperate ocr blog, maybe even just for any short stories that any of us come up with. It would be sweet to have a site that's updated a few times a week with new short stories by different authors, and then have the other writers critique them in the comments. Sadly I've never done anything with blogspot though, and I'm not much of a writer.

OCR TF2: New Server forthcoming - new server IPs and other stuff

How many shareholders do we have currently? According to my wondrous education (35 + / 3 = 14.3, do we have 14 reserved slot people? Because I know OCR can always use some extra funds if we manage to go overboard. -
I'd read them, and yes you are your worst critic because they don't suck. They're fairly well done, if you collected a little critique and worked on it they could be fantastic. Keep writing, I'd like to have a go at a musical score for one of these stories sometime soon, but it takes me a long time to write stuff so it'll be a while before you see anything from me.

When you jump, press the direction that you want to go, there're 3, straight up, diagonal, and straight sideways. Get a little momentum then just before jump hold up, up and to the side, or just side. It'll line up perfectly with the hoop if you choose the right one.

Just got 49.63 on my best run so far, there's a few spots though were you can really pick up speed if you do it right.

Best Programs to make Video Game Music
Zephyr replied to scifiknux's topic in Music Composition & Production
We've seen too many people recently coming in here and wanting to "pick up music" as a side project to whatever else it is they're doing. Anything that comes as a result of "side project" devotion will probably not be too amazing, so yes I'd recommend instead that you get someone else to do it. I'm not even gonna touch on the legal side and issues about this though, that's your job. -

I've been noticing it's actually fairly easy to get the server started when we want to, me and pavlvs got it started yesterday in about 10 minutes. It was great, I often start playing around 7-8 PM CST, see you all then. -
Well, it all depends on what you really want to do with your controller. Anything you want to do can probably be accomplished by simply right clicking on the digital control, clicking "link to controller" with autodetect on then tweaking the real life knob. Using the mapping formulas you can make it do pretty much anything if you know the proper math. As for the transport buttons, that's a can of worms, however if you do a bit of google work you should be able to find it somewhere, but I really don't feel like going on a goose chase for it now. It is possible though. If you want to link the controllers somehow else, let us know specifically.

Just playing on my own I found every symbol and bag except for the last one, this is awesome fun, I can do a leisurely run through in 60 seconds, we should have time trials.

For your price range the Oxygen would be a good choice I think, however being the piano player that you are maybe you'd rather save up and get an 88 key full weighted keyboard, you might regret getting the smaller synth action one later. However, the fancy 88 weighted ones are quite a bit more expensive, and if you're branching out now (like you did with the dodgeball mix) then the oxygen would be very useful. If a small synth action keyboard is what you want, then the oxygen is probably a really good buy.

Saw something weird today, on the death-spectator, it allowed me to see the other team, I'm not sure if this was a server setting or a new patch glitch... -

Didn't they also used to have a radar of some kind? That would be a decent addition, especially if it showed engie buildings. I dunno about the spy thing, you can tell that they're spies when you run into them anyways, no need to totally disarm the spy.
