I'll take my own music seriously when I am OCR standards i.e. my music is well produced. I actually made my first submission back in November, but I'm far better sounding that that trash now, so I'm not looking forward to seeing the judges decision on it... EDIT: Er, December.

I still think there's too much skepticism here considering none of you have played this game. I gotta admit though, I was pretty disappointed with the few songs that I heard from atmuh's post.

If you worked on music every day for 3 hours, improving your production values and becoming a good sound designer, you could easily be OCR material in a year. Too bad that it's extremely difficult to be THAT motivated. EDIT: I didn't take the compositional side of things into account, but I don't think it would make a huge difference. Composition comes pretty naturally to me just because I hear songs in my head all the time. I don't know if it's that easy for anyone else, but I digress. Compositionally, the only thing I really struggle with is drums.

I don't play casual games, but I play games casually. Old games, anyway. The last new generation game I cared about was Mortal Kombat vs. DC. I've been far too guitar centric to care about new games, mainly because those take a lot more investment of time than new games do. I've been sticking to classic games for almost two years. I've been on a real Turbografx-16 binge lately.

Huh, you both might be on to something there. I haven't attempted writing original music yet, come to think of it.

Can't you just do a quick remake of it? I mean, if it's sequenced music, all you should have to do is replace the sounds and leave the actual note data alone. But uhhhhh, if you lost the project file, it's totally understandable.
