  1. I already have said sound from when it was posted, I was simply naming examples.
  2. Nothing that I want or need is in that thread.
  3. Anyone know where I could grab some sound effects from video games? Such as a 1up sound or random voice samples from TMNT IV when the announcer shouts the name of the next stage? If not, anyone know how to rip 'em? I know how to convert .spc files to .it and use them in modplug if that helps
  4. I say the PSX game no question. I have Twin Snakes, and it's an okay game, but it just feels wrong. Just get the PSX game. In fact, get that MGS 3-pack they've been selling, it comes with the PSX game. Like DJSBX said, you can play the originals for a kick. I never beat them though.
  5. Lessee here. I have the NES-Wii, a PS1-PS3, an original brick sized Game Boy, a Game Boy Advance SP, Two DSs, and a Game Gear. Game wise... NES: Mega Man 2, Mega Man 4, G.I. Joe, Double Dragon II and III, Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros. 3, Strider, Ducktales, Ninja Gaiden 2, The Legend of Zelda, and Kirby's Adventure. Super NES: Donkey Kong Country 1-3, Super Mario World, SMW2: Yoshi's Island (has anyone else played this game and enjoyed it?), Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, Mega Man X, Mega Man 7, Sunset Riders, Aladdin, Kirby Super Star, and more I can't remember. Game Boy: Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, and Silver, Metroid II: Return of Samus, Super Mario Land 1, 2, and 3 (wario land), The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, LoZ: Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, Mega Man 2, World Cup, and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. Nintendo 64: Goldeneye 007, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Quest 64, Pokemon Stadium, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, Mega Man 64, Paper Mario, Star Fox 64, Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie, and Kirby 64. Game Gear: Sonic 2, Sonic Triple Trouble, and some golf game my dad bought. PS1: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy Origins (I-II), Final Fantasy Chronicles (Chrono Trigger and IV), Final Fantasy Anthology (V-VI), Resident Evil 3, Mega Man X4, Mega Man X6, Mega Man 7 (as you can see I love all things Mega Man), Chrono Cross, and more I [see above] PS1 is a section I'd really like to expand more. I HAVE FFIX and FFVIII, but both are not in working condition up to a point (Disc 3 on both, I think). I at least beat FFIX but never FFVIII. I'll get them off eBay at some point. Really, there's multiple games that I'd like, like Mega Man X2 or Mega Man 4 and 5 for game boy. I'll get them off the internet or something.
  6. Hm. A good piece. Fairly straightfoward. It takes getting used to though, definitely not a song I would judge from the first listen alone. No production issues here. I'd almost say it's not worth posting in the WIP forum, as it's certainly OCR quality, and I enjoyed it, unless you simply wanted us to get a taste to feed your ego All joking aside, good job. What's up with the choice of song title though?
  7. No idea where he's getting this from; an overall ROFL quote if I do say so myself. While the judge's opinions are subjective, people who just give up because of an objection or a NO are people who will never improve as musicians due to their refusal to take constructive criticism. While one may lack the imagination to compose original melodies, one can still have the ability to point out notable production flaws, the overall structure of the song, such as transitions and how well original melodies fit, and whether a remix is too distant or too close to the source material. Is it not the listener's opinion that matters the most? (to an extent, anyway) uh...I thought Prot hacked VGmix? Or was that just a joke? Regardless, I feel like this is a feeble attempt to stir up flames of some sort, which resulted in his effective ban.
  8. Animal Antics. Even if it had some tough levels, you have to admit they were fun as hell. Really, I thought the Castle world had more "dick move" type stuff. Most notably the acid level and Castle Crusher.
  9. hello ocre :3

  10. Happy birthday my metal friend. Thanks for the guitar help
  11. Hahaha, my old high school never did anything like that. Back before I even got Roadrunner, I would get on OCR from school and download some of the MP3s (this was also before I knew of torrenting) of Project Chaos and Rise of the Star every day, and any other things on the site that interested me.
  12. Go kill a bunch of cactaurs for a ton of AP to give your chars more spells. Easy cheesy.
  13. oddly enough, I was thinking of this game recently. I'll probably play it again and root out some possible remix tunes. (most likely the battle tunes)
  14. you could just you know take the time and the effort to learn how to do that stuff on your own It's not like everything is simply going to be handed to you. Learn to be more independent.
  15. To clarify, you're not going to get a midi file submitted onto OCR. Whether getting this submitted to OCR is your goal or not, I don't know. I'm simply warning you.
  16. If I ever find the time (or the motivation) I'll metal up or something. And if not me, then someone should. Also, just to show I'm not just a big talker and can actually make music, here is my recent submission for starla's one hour compo. Sounds ugly but that can be fixed with a little work.
  17. If any song from Goldeneye needs a mix it's .
  18. Woooooah, no way. Absolutely not, there's far more to it than that. It has to have your own original melodies and such. Here's a little something from the submission standards page. The arrangement must be substantial and original. Submissions must be different enough from the source material to clearly illustrate the contributions, modifications, and enhancements you have made. Acceptable arrangement often involves more than one of the following techniques: Modifying the genre, chord progression, instrumentation, rhythms, dynamics, tempo, or overall composition of the source material Adding original solos, transitions, harmonies, counter-melodies, lyrics, or vocals to the source material Taking the original game audio and simply adding drum loops or using an existing MIDI file and assigning new instruments does not qualify as substantial or original arrangement. Submissions should be long enough to convey arrangement; generally, this requires at least two minutes of material. of course, this thing had some awesome original melodies thrown in there, so you're certainly off to a good start.
  19. In my case it's music; I'm so into music at this point I don't really do "hardcore gaming" anymore. Only gaming I do these days is the oldies.
  20. SHUTUP FOR CHRISTSAKE I KNOW HOW TO CLIMB A LADDER JESUS OW MY EAR
