  1. Wikipedia's black-out page makes it fiendishly easy to find out who your representatives and senators are, and how to contact them. Simply go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:CongressLookup?zip=11111, but replace the zip code with your own, obviously. http://projects.propublica.org/sopa/ will tell you which representatives and senators support or oppose the bills.
  2. Post MAG post is up on their site, complete with link to feedback form about what you thought went right or wrong about the thing. I expect everyone here to fill this out and mention that Jamspace once again needs a dedicated section next year that won't be off-limits during concerts.
  3. Parts 1 and 6 are driving me nuts for not recognizing them, but 3 is Scars Left by Time, the opening of Chrono Cross. 5 is Bloody Tears, 7 is Ken and Guile's themes, 8 goes back to Ken (with lyrics from Ken Song), 9 is Dreaming Still. (edit: Bahamut tells me 6 is My Village is Number One from Xenogears)
  4. Camrade wins out on my list by far, with 475 plays. Battle Axe-Wielding Dwarf is second with 125. Everything else has less than 50 plays (I didn't actually jump on board the iTunes camp until a few years ago; if you counted my Winamp numbers which I don't have access to anymore, it'd probably be an entirely different list with much much larger numbers), but the following three for me are G.E.R.U.D.O., Shine Tonight, and Elevation [groovepump mix].
  5. I got around that by leaving the Wii on the whole time and just clicking the Home button to pause the game so it wouldn't screw up my playtime. This obviously might not be a good idea for people who can't just storm through the whole game within a few days, though.
  6. Facebook picture album (temporarily public so you all can peruse if you're not yet friends with me there) - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150565713178255.434344.677693254&type=1&l=37dfbb30ef Video of Rare Candy singing the ending theme from Plants vs. Zombies - https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150567421848255 Video of the OneUps performing Mario Circuit from the SMK album, and the first two tracks from Intergalactic Redux - https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150567865508255
  7. Next year, we need to get some 4 player action goin on in that. It shall be EPIC.
  8. Well I used to be a fan of 2011, but then I took myself to a new year.

  9. To borrow a page from the fangirl book, I have ALL THE FEELINGS about this convention. I can't even properly put down what all was so awesome. A few things at least, though: * It was great to meet even more new faces; every year, more people take the plunge and come to MAG, and they're almost always there every year from then on. Lizz, Gario, GlobalTrance, Luke, Amphibious, Ben Briggs (BUY POWER STONE 2, DUDE)... it was awesome seeing you guys for real. * More than 3 elevators was fantastic. * Room blocks! Having nearly all the OCR folks 30 seconds or less away was brilliant, and made for some epic parties. * Speaking of epic parties, Shariq and I successfully got a shitload of folks to watch tokusatsu in our room Saturday night, and they actually enjoyed it. Mission successful. * THOSE CONCERTS. Armcannon (THUNDERCATS) and Metroid Metal (holy shit they played Tallon Overworld!) are always a good time. Hearing four Black Mages songs played live not less than 20 ft. away from me was almost a religious experience. * I got my Final Fantasy II/IV SNES cartridge signed by Uematsu and his band. I can't help but wonder how much I could sell this for now, though I never ever ever ever ever ever will. This will go nicely on the shelf next to the Secret of Mana cartridge I got signed by Hiroki Kikuta at MAG 9. * Thank you, Rama and Starla, for the Killer Studio Chops shirt. I will treasure this thing forever. * The way the moshpit turned into a race track with everyone running in a massive circle when Armcannon played their F-Zero track was brilliant. Only at MAGFest, folks. A few downsides though: - Until this weekend, I didn't realize I snore like two chainsaws clashing against each other. Sounds like I need a legitimate doctor trip if it's that serious; sleep apnea can be fatal. - Just like last year, I had no time whatsoever to hang out with my buds at the Metroid Metal forums, though I did have quick chats with most of them at least once over the weekend. A definite shame, cause I would've liked to have a taste of that 21 year old scotch they bought for Chunkstyle's birthday present. Altogether, this was one of the best MAGs yet, and I'm already counting down the days to #11.
  10. Nature's Table turned out to be a great option for pickup since people tended to not go there compared to other places in the area.
  11. TurquoiseStar at VGMusic mentioned that it fit well where the Oracle games are, because Twinrova was never actually killed in that timeline at the end of the Spirit Temple. I thought that was a nice bit of sense.
  12. My main goals for 2012 were originally going to be "get a better job" and "properly set up a DAW so I can make music again", but I actually knocked out the first goal back in November after getting hired by National Geographic. The second one is definitely a huge goal for me though. I haven't made a track in two and a half years, minus a collab I did with Stevo for OLR. It's way past time to step up my production game. I also want to add losing some weight as a goal. 20 lbs is my aim.
  13. They DO have parking at the hotel. It's $21 a day according to my room reservation e-mail, unfortunately. Of course, compared to the overcharges you'll get for leaving your car in a nearby $11 garage for 96 hours straight, it's probably the better option.
  14. That depends entirely on what you're trying to do with the Metro. Do you want to visit DC or something while you'd be here? The closest metro stop to the harbor is Branch Ave. on the green line. The NH1 bus runs from the station to the harbor every 30 minutes from 8am to about 10pm.
  15. The MM timeline is the one that's not in question; that's where he put it back in the pedestal before warning Zelda of what was to come.
  16. I was just thinking that myself. Logically, the Master Sword should not exist in the original branch OR the Adult Era. Not sure how to iron that one out. Also, GlitterBerri has provided a translation of the page direct from the Youtube video. It's at http://www.glitterberri.com/uncategorized/the-real-zelda-timeline/ rather than the link I posted before.
  17. GlitterBerri has done some translations on this available here. I find myself particularly interested in what she posted about the War in LttP's story. "After Link dies in Ocarina of Time, Ganon obtains the entire Triforce. The Seven Sages seal away Ganon and the whole Triforce as a last resort, but villains with their eyes on the Triforce make for the Sacred Realm, which eventually turns into the Dark World and is filled with evil power. The Seven Sages then try to seal away the Sacred Realm itself, but end up fighting with monsters. This is the Imprisoning War of A Link to the Past." That sure makes a lot more sense than assuming OoT itself was the War, and that oral retelling corruptions changed the story of the King and a few guards dying and Link taking care of the whole shebang himself into thousands of soldiers against Ganon's forces. But yeah, I can see the entire timeline as posted working fine, minus the questionable link (har) of FSA's inconsistencies.
  18. Deia knows where our hearts lie. (in the Love Love Love combo)
  19. ...wow. The place I ordered it from said 4 to 8 weeks for international delivery, but you got it in a week. XD
  20. That was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but I did it anyways. The music will be worth it, I think.
  21. I wasn't the first of us to submit to the OCR block (Brandon beat me), but I was the first to e-mail the block registration folks and explain what our block entailed, so the MAG hotel liaison e-mailed me today and asked me to check over things. We have 17 rooms in this block so far (this is gonna be EPIC mang), with the following last names: Strader Jones Lin Prabhu Thompson Kelley Bortz Burr Flynn Parenteau Lepley Asulin Roget Chrapcynski Koch Paa Keyn EDIT: This post originally mentioned how to get in our block if you weren't already there, but the due date is past us now, so too late! If you've got a hotel room, great, but don't expect it to be located anywhere near these 17 rooms.
  22. Just sent mine, but I really have no idea if it will make it by Christmas. If not, sorry!
  23. At first when I saw this mix I was going to complain about unnecessarily silly, little things like how I wish this track had remixed some Yuzo Koshiro sources since it's been five appalling months since anything from him has been mixed (both the source tunes used here are Michiru Yamane tracks specifically), and how the title is actually the name of a boss and so it's as derivative as it is classy. Then I listened to the mix and was like HNNNNNNNGGG SO GOOD and all my other comments just suddenly sounded stupid.
