Hey dude, happy birthday! I've never talked to you, but everytime I see your sig I giggle like a schoolgirl. So have a good one!

Wow man, very nice. Lesse.. as far as feedback, I was thinking the wind sound was a little too pronounced, and I noticed that there was a little clipping on heavy parts of the song (bass hits and one piano part at :50s), but I really like where it's going! What're you using to make this?
-
Hey, the threads alive again! Well.. it's kinda shameful, but I haven't been able to work on it much since I got it started thanks to life. Here's the beginning WiP for Mysterious Woods, http://www.dcmperformance.com/music/Links_Awakening_-_Mysterious_Woods_ReMix_3.mp3 - towards the end of the song is where I always test, so it might seem like the song is jumping around a lot. Feedback is appreciated.

I voted yes for it, but only if it were free... it'd be great to have something here at OCR simply because most of my future music will be based off of the projects and games here. The _only_ reason I say only if its free is cause I already pay hundreds of dollars a year on the websites I run now. I'd probably pay for one in the future if that was the only option though.
-
Damn Flik, just missed ya! I'm looking forward to see how it went. If at some point in the future we run it at 7 or 8pm PST, I should be able to make it. Work sucks!! >.<

It's all about the love of music for me.

This is going to be great stuff folks! It's amazing what getting a group of people together with likened goals can do for your motivation. As you already know, I'm down for doing this as much as possible and at least helping with organizing if I'm not working on something myself that week. Just showing my support!

I'm pretty sure FF7/8 are a must-have for any RPG player at the least...

The "who uses what" thread
case replied to Geoffrey Taucer's topic in Music Composition & Production
I agree with Dan here, its really all about personal preference... Many programs offer one specific portion of creation that really stands out above the rest, so you just have to go with the one that best suits your style. I personally use FL7's Producer Edition.. even though its their most expensive product, it still costs about $300 less than other top-line music production programs. As far as MIDI controllers goes, that's up to preference, with the exception of being uncompatible with the software you're running. So, if you already have the hardware, you'll want to make sure in advance that it works with the software you're looking at. Ask around in community forums such as this, and you're likely to get the best responses. -
N64: Goldeneye 007 Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire (i think that's what its called) PS: FF7/8 Gran Turismo 2 Fear Effect MegaMan X5 Street Fighter Alpha 3 Tenchu Rival Schools PC: Half-Life 1/2 Space Quest (all) Tribes Battlefield 1942 maybe some more later if i think of something in particular

No no, I meant that I want those MLG sets, cause you start out with Battle Rifles.. I can't stand the SMG unles its for dual wield.
-
That is another really fun gameset. Hammerzeist was pretty cool, although I haven't played it much so it might be one that wears its time on you. I hope they release some MLG sets, cause I still hate starting out with the assault rifle.
-
Sweet, thanks guys, I'd been wondering about this myself!
-
a-fucking-men. i can't STAND playing that anymore. my entire team will always veto and pray someone on the other team does too. attacking an elephant is 100x more fun with a hornet, though i do love racing the mongooses! to above post: shotty snipers is a game type where you have shotguns and snipers for starting (and only) weapons, you can't actually snipe someone with the shotgun. in fact you can't seem to hit someone if they're more than about 20 feet away with it.

They haven't revealed any clan support for Halo 3 yet. There is a rumor that it will be entirely Live-supported clan structures instead of being game specific.

Best song on Halo 2 was the Breaking Benjamin song towards the end... The rest of the score is kinda unimpressive. Halo 2 had a couple harder songs that were great, but I never found myself getting hyped in Halo 3. It was all just a downward spiral after I opened the package. For someone who plays new games for 6 hrs a day (if possible) for a couple weeks after getting it, I haven't been able to stomach more than maybe 2-3 hours of play since the first day of playing. To sum up Halo 3 for me: _massive_ let down. High points? Graphics improved... the Hornets.. ... .........
-
I'm right there with you.. but I beat it on legendary, and I still didn't understand a damn thing. I hadn't heard that it was a different ending. Even the multiplayer is getting old fast... I'm kinda bummed I went out and spent $60 on this game if I'm not going to play it for more than a week before getting bored.
-
Well, I'm convinced... if there's a demo, I'll at least give it a shot, and worst comes to worst, I end up blowing yet another $60 on a good game.

I got Halo 3 last night at midnight, I got lucky enough to have a relatively new Walmart by my house that not everyone and their mother knew about, so I just walked in and picked up a copy. My roommate and a couple coworkers then proceeded to beat it on Legendary in 8 hours... which for one, kinda disappointed me, considering we were all drunk, and had crap teamwork. I would've hoped it would've been harder, honestly. Later, we played Legendary with just three people though (for some reason, when we beat Act 7, it never took and gave us the achievement), and it was clear how much of a difference one person can make. Not to mention... what the hell was going on with that story? I know that maybe I'm missing a lot cause I never got around to beating the last level of Halo 2, but honestly, I couldn't follow it for shit. Anyone else with that problem?
-
very very nicely done... in fact, i'm going to work on something remix-like of this, iffin you don't mind.
-
I concur. At the least, it could've been much better.
-
no, it's your fault for sitting there and watching it. my logic is undeniable.
-
Whoops, thanks for the correction! Is Infinite Undiscovery coming out for 360? Haven't heard of it yet... Although "realtime" combat and such is fun in concept on RPGs, sometimes I'd really rather it just stick with turn-based methods.
-
well, maybe... it's kinda like that time i watched the movie "Evil Bong". i really wanted that hour and a half back of my life... but i can't blame the movie for sucking, it's my own fault i sat there and watched the whole thing!

I should be on Halo 3 a good portion of this week, unfortunately. I hate it when games take over my time, but if its a good game, I can't help it. The Last Remnant seems pretty cool, I also thought that the overall design of the game was a huge pull from FF's style, but to me, that's a very good thing. Always nice to see good RPGs come from other companies besides ones with 'square' in the name. Plus the backstory sounded cool, but that might just be because I liked the Highlander TV show. Was anyone else completed disappointed with Two Worlds? Or were you all smart enough not to buy it... Bioshock was cool, but I haven't put more than a couple hours on each game, they don't have that "entranced me to the point of potato-ism" quality for whatever reason. For now, I pass the time wrecking my coworkers in PGR3 and Forza2 (when my xbox works). Hey, look ma, I'm ranting!
