  1. Nah man, if someone else wants to grab it, I'm cool. That said, if they feel like adding some electro schwag to whatever they do, I'm down. :)

  2. I'm really psyched with how my track is going thus far. Y'all don't even know.
  3. Alright, I'm officially claiming Zerg Two from the original Starcraft as my track for this week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtpdM2VogWI
  4. Alright, now I'm sure you're just screwing with us, Jason. All the RTS games I've ever played have had little more than ambient noise in the background of the levels. You really are trying to force us to use rigid constraints, aren't you? /notactuallyupset
  5. I can't wait to move to the next round. I'm champing at the bit for a chance to do another mix!
  6. I was bored in class, so I went ahead and updated the first post with some personal recommendations.
  7. Don't think the competition has been around long enough for that to have happened, yet, but Broken Wings (the winner from the pilot episode) is on the panel as of recently.
  8. Pic is relevant to above post.
  9. Yeah, almost immediately after I posted that, it morphed into a higher-tempo 80's-inspired prog house number with phat gated drums and a wicked bassline. It's gonna be decidedly non-chilled when finished, lol.
  10. Did you review Disc 5 yet? EDIT: And yeah, may want to touch base with Emu, although I betcha he'll see this very shortly.
  11. Right, I gotta claim Good Morning. It's just begging to be remixed via happy hardcore. I'd also love to snag Covert Town, but it's asking me for electro-swing, and I'd need an acoustic guitarist to handle that Django Reinhardt sound.
  12. I've finally started something on my song. Going for a really chilled house vibe, we'll see if I stick with it.
  13. Hey, welcome to the OCR WIP forums, turkooyze. Generally speaking, you're not gonna want to mark your song WIPs as "Mod Review" until you've gotten some other feedback on them first. Wait for some of the input to flow, and then use the mod review as the "final leg of the journey" before submitting to OCR. More details on proper Mod Review usage here. That said, sounds like you're off to a good start. It's a bit cover-ish, in that there's not much done to rearrange the music, and the sounds aren't articulated as realistically as they need to be for a convincing orchestral arrangement, but it's definitely enjoyable to listen to. Again, welcome, and I hope you'll take the time to learn the ropes around here and become a member of the community!
  14. I've got a PCI M-Audio Delta 1010LT card that has treated me really well under Win7 x64. Mine's been through a lot, even sat underneath an overheating fanless video card (and bent a bit from the heat), but it's been stable and clean this entire time. Highly recommended if a PCI (non-E) card works for you.
  15. Hey dude, just noticed you're a member of this forum. Wanted to drop by and let you know that I always really enjoyed your stuff back in the ACIDplanet days, hope you won't be a stranger around here!

  16. NESteryears is a bob-omb piece of work. I had it on repeat for at least a week.
  17. Heh. I wanna say I finished this song something like two and a half years ago or somewhere near there. I've gotten a lot better, re: criticism on the low-end mixing. However, I've still got a soft spot for this song, and I'm glad it's getting some love on the front page!
  18. Do you use Spotify? If so, give the album a listen or some stars or something here!
  19. If there's a MAGWest, I have to be there. Been wishing for a good west-coast con for a while now.
  20. I do most of my mixing on my Beyerdynamic DT880 Pro headphones, and then usually do mastering on my studio monitors. I tend to get pretty close, though, and I'm pretty sure there are several artists in this community who use headphones nearly exclusively as well, and they've managed to put out stellar tunes. Of course, you'll always want to check your mixes on other speakers (car stereos tend to bring out the worst in my mixes ), but getting a really good pair of headphones would probably be a completely worthwhile investment. EDIT: Along the lines of what Darangen said, I'm not really sure you need to move away from Live. It's a very competent piece of software, too.
  21. I'd recommend you get Logic. It's got a bit of a learning curve, but it's an insanely powerful piece of software and you can do so much with it. You might be able to get some good headphones at that price, too, but I don't think I could comfortably recommend buying monitors with that money. I have some fairly inexpensive monitors ($450 for the pair when I bought them), but they're complemented by a good, prosumer sound card ($200) as well as a subwoofer ($300) and crossover ($200) in order to mask their deficiencies. Definitely not cheap.
  22. Nailed it.
  23. lolbrandon. I guess by "couldn't care less" I mean I'm completely indifferent to the DMC series, not that I dislike the game or anything. Just not particularly interested in playing it.
  24. Yeah, I honestly couldn't care less about the game, but the soundtrack is TASTY thus far.
