  1. So, uh, I could nitpick this, but what's the point? I listened to the entire thing and just got lost in it, it's really good. I'm sure it would be an easy pass on the panel.
  2. Glad this one went over so well! I'm going to try and do these a lot more often, so stay tuned on my Facebook page (link in my signature) or here in this thread for the next time I do one. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions here ahead of time so that I can answer 'em in another session.
  3. Hey all, I'm currently livestreaming over at http://twitch.tv/flexstyle if you wanna catch some work-in-progress for the Balance and Ruin album. Hopefully I'll be livestreaming over there a lot more, just workin' on stuff, so join me if you can!
  4. THIS! So much of this. I'll get like 16 bars of awesomeness going, and then be like, "wait, what do I do next?"
  5. I've heard several remixes of this track, but this is the one that makes me want to stick it in my car stereo as loud as the thing can possibly go and drive around town like a total boss. Fantastic work.
  6. Ahhh heck, sign me up. I've got finals around the same time as the mixes are due, so I may not be around as much as I'd like, but I don't want to see this second season go to waste so soon.
  7. Yeah, check your looping mode.
  8. Aww yeah, can't wait to see it show up on the front page...in a year or so. :-P

  9. You shouldn't have any trouble with .wav files as long as you're rendering with the tail either cut off or wrapped (as opposed to left in, you'll see what I mean on the render page). MP3 files, though, automatically insert just a little bit of silence at the beginning of the file, so I wouldn't really recommend them as being used for looping in a game.
  10. I actually like melodic content, as it tends to make a really good jumping-off point for me, especially when trying to make music VERY quickly (e.g. competitions or paid soundtrack work).
  11. He's trolling. I'm always impressed with your mixing quality, so I've gone and done the right thing by following you on Soundcloud. Can't wait to hear more!
  12. So, Nine-Volt Audio is selling a big ol' package of loops for about $300, when they claim it'd otherwise go for about $2400. The demo sounds really good, and reviews from publications I trust (Computer Music, Sound On Sound, etc.) are pretty good. Has anyone else here ever used NVA's loop packages, and would you consider this a good deal?
  13. DT880 Pros for my main PC, Pioneer HDJ-1000 when mixing on my laptop, and Skullcandy or Bass Buds earbuds when just casually listening on my phone or laptop. I've also got a set of E-Mu PM5 monitors coupled with a Roland PM-3 subwoofer (dbx crossover in the chain) I use for open-air listening on my main system. EDIT: Can't forget the good ol' car stereo! Sony head unit, some Pioneer speakers, and an 8" self-powered woofer. That system BUMPS in my CRX.
  14. I did walk him through the entire re-seating process, and I'm pretty sure I bolted it down beforehand. Last I heard, it sounded like XFX was gonna do an RMA for him (Radeon HD7850), so hopefully it's resolved by a new part soon.
  15. Brad, do you have any tips for shipping a custom-built computer across the country? I built a computer for a friend recently, and when it got to him, the video card was exhibiting some really bad signs (black lines across the screen, etc.). It worked perfectly before I shipped it (I benchmarked it 'n everything, didn't see a thing wrong), so I think the shipping process may have damaged the computer.
  16. You're welcome, sir! Finally had some time to sit down and do it; glad I could help!

  17. Haven't forgotten to check this out, just haven't had time to sit down and give it a proper listen. From a very cursory listen-through, sounds like you're pretty well set, but I'll try and get to it soon!
  18. You wish. The Conquistadors > everyone else. #fact
  19. So, uh, is this contest still a thing anymore?
  20. I heartily endorse this album, and not just because I have a song on it! Listened to the entire thing at work today, and it's excellent.
  21. Can't wait to hear what the requirements are for Round9.
  22. I honestly haven't used it hardly at all--haven't had time to get involved there. I do know that they offer a LOT of exposure and prize packages for the remix contests, so there is that side of things.
  23. SwiftKey 4 just got released, so they've got a sale on it. Just $2 to pick it up. Worth every penny and more--it's a massive improvement over the stock keyboard on my GS3!
  24. Have you looked at Indaba Music?
