Image-Line Harmless and Toxic Biohazard, Wusik.com Wusikstation, and Cakewalk z3ta+. Harmless: Super-phat sounds are really easy to make. Great for deep basses, screaming leads, and those wobblin' dubstep sounds. Toxic Biohazard: Tons of power under the hood. I'm very familiar with it, so I can make nearly any sound I want. Tends to be a bit CPU-hungry, though. Actually, that kinda applies to all my favorite synths.... Wusikstation: I realize this beast has more to it than just the presets, but I have yet to need anything but a quick look through the many banks available to my Wusik.com subscriber's account to find an utterly usable sound. z3ta+: Super-powerful. Older technology, but still one of the most versatile synths ever made. I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention 4Front TruePianos and Garritan Personal Orchestra, my two favorite "real instrument" plugins.

Phoenix, AZ, here, and the reason I love Bandcamp so much is because I can get ALAC files, which is what the rest of my library is in.

I would buy the album if it were released for $5 or less on Bandcamp (that's all I can afford at this point). Just sayin'. Loved the one track I heard on BC.

Yeah, taking a trip to Frys Electronics once I wake up in about 7-8 hours or so. I've got about $600 to spend, so I should be able to find something good.

So....my computer crashed on me. Hopefully I didn't lose much, cos I supposedly had backups going, but I'm not entirely sure how recent the latest one was. I'm out one hard drive and one video card, and I think I'm going to just end up doing a complete system rebuild. The upshot of all that is that I may be a little later completing my tracks than I thought.

Huzzah, it's been released! I'm listening as I type, and there's some fantastic stuff here. Congrats to the Space Whale crew for getting this whole project done and to Andrew for an amazing soundtrack!

My two WIPs for this project are at about 40% and 10%, respectively. I'll improve those figures before the deadline and make sure I submit something worthwhile.

Hrm...I'm able to connect with Colloquy on my Macbook.

E-Mu PM5 monitors coupled with a Roland PM-3 subwoofer via a dbx 223 crossover, as well as a pair of Beyerdynamic DT880 Pro headphones which I love very much. Occasionally I'll use my Sennheiser HD280 Pros as well, but I kinda hate the sound of them and mostly use them only when leakage is a big problem, like when I'm recording. Soundcard for casual stuff, e.g. listening to music, playing games, whatever, is just my motherboard's crappy built-in sound card. When I'm mixing/recording, I use my M-Audio Delta 1010LT.

Graduate of audio engineering school and avid semi-pro mixing engineer here (meaning I get paid when I do it but it's not much more than a side thing right now), would I be able to at least take a crack at this sort o' thing? I'm mostly an electronic artist, and that's all you'll be able to hear of my work, but I've done a good bit of jazz recording/mixing, thanks to some friends who were generous enough to lend their time and instrumental expertise while I had access to the school's recording studios. I might even be able to upload some of my work if you need to hear such a thing....

While remixing is possible without a MIDI file, it's sure a heck of a lot easier when you have a frame of reference!

I'm getting whatever I get. To be honest, this isn't so much a mastering process as it is a "final checkup," if that makes any sense. A little compression here, a tweak of EQ there, but nothing really serious. The goal is to make the album sound perhaps a little more uniform across the board than previous albums have sounded, and while everyone's got a different mixing style, I like to think I can do a bit o' tightening of loose ends here and there. (you could always PM Wes if you want to hear what I've done, if you're concerned, by the way--I have no problem receiving critique)
