  1. Oy, we'll see if I can get time for this one--if I do come through, expect a dreamy trance mix of it!
  2. I'm really enjoying this mix, great piano and drums playing by both the performers! Nice flow, this belongs on the radio lol. KJZZ or something, haha.
  3. It'd help if I spent more than four hours on making the track, y'think? Looking forward to the next time I can destroy - erm - compete against you all!
  4. Hmm, y'know what's odd...each time I've participated in a PRC, Rexy wins it! Strange.
  5. Congrats Rexy! Production values always win, it seems well plus having a well-arranged song doesn't hurt at all lol. Honestly I usually pay a LOT more attention to both my arrangement and my production, but what can you do in six hours? At least when you're used to spending more like a couple weeks on a mix, lol. This was a really fun PRC (only my second one but hey it's all cool), I'm looking forward to participating in more!
  6. Fear not, I'm rendering right now! EDIT: OK, it's uploaded for your listening pleasure
  7. "Sixto," "zircon," "Pendulum," and "surf rock" all had me expecting something spectacular, and whaddya know--the buzzwords came through! Very obviously influenced by Pendulum, but very zircon-ish too. Sixto's guitars are excellent as usual. It's rare I can find a song that I can't just nitpick at, but this song would probably be one of those "perfect-in-my-opinion" songs. Excellent job, this has gone straight onto my Juke.
  8. Working on an entry to this, hope I finish it in time!
  9. Something I've found very true over the years is after you've finished mixing your track, let it sit for at least a day. A few days is best. That way your ears have time to rest and freshen up, and the excitement of creating the track is at least somewhat past. After a few days, go back and listen to the render of your track, making notes of what needs to be fixed and there WILL be stuff. Then, go back and fix it. This process could go on indefinitely, so be judicious about it (hope that's the right use of that word, lol). Also useful during this process is posting it somewhere like the WIP forums here or just somewhere where you'll get lots of feedback on it. Revise it once or twice, then call it good and move on to the next thing. Hope that made sense.
  10. I've not heard the original (my gaming scope being very sadly limited), but from a musical/production point of view this is probably my favorite song I've heard from McVaffe. Even though I'm an OCR newbie still on the forums at least, I've listened to...geez, I don't know. TONS of remixes from here! McVaffe has been hit-and-miss for me, but there have been some gems. This, I think, marks the start of a new level of quality from him, eh wot? The four-year layoff gave a lot of time for maturity and it REALLY shows. Great work, an instant favorite.
  11. Oooh, looks cool! So there's actually going to be an entire CD of trance? Am I in heaven? I WISH I could help out with some tracks, but alas...I'm still an OCRemix newbie. Trance is my passion, so at least I'm sure to enjoy other peoples' work here.
  12. I honestly don't know, but I'm guessing you'd get a fast answer from DogsOnAcid. (the forum)
  13. Would it be too much to ask for a couple comments on my mix as well? Forum noob here an' all that so if nobody wants to pay attention to me I'm not going to be offended, lol.
  14. Happy B-Day Bladiator...I finished the song you requested in the Freshly Baked competition, maybe that can be sort of a present?
  15. Oh. Crap. I hadn't noticed it was the mixing stage (yeah I'm lame). Here's hoping I come up with something FAST!
  16. I get a lot of my DnB fix by listening to podcasts--DJ Marmix and the Digital Soundboard podcasts, both found on iTunes, are great. EDIT: Oh, and do yourself a favor by checking out the Drum'N'Bass Arena podcast with D.Kay and his presentation of his album. Best jazzstep EVAR.
  17. Well, I've put a couple final touches on it (the snare roll, some volume levels, the gated supersaw, some EQing), and sent it in! Here's the final version, if you'd care to listen (again). Thanks so very much to everyone who commented, I was able to take the song in a great direction which I wouldn't have taken originally. THANKS!
  18. Alright! Any more comments before I make the final revision? As far as the length goes, this is about as short a track as I can possibly make. I'm used to making 6-9 minute tracks! By the way, I REALLY appreciate all the comments given. I've been able to take this track a lot further than I would originally have taken it. Thanks so much for all your help, WIPers!
  19. Odd, now it's not working for me either! Oh well, here you go from another filehost: Original Current WIP Hope these work!
  20. Shouldn't stream, it's just a Mediafire download link. You've got a couple extra mouse clicks to go through after you click the links I provided, if that's what throwing you off. *goes to check the links one more time*
  21. That's odd, they're working just fine for me.
  22. Well it's been over a week (more like two or three weeks actually), but I've gone and made some changes to the song. Check it out here and let me know if I need to change anything, eh? I really like the way it's turning out.
  23. Wooo nice! Looks like a slightly scaled-down yet updated version of my kit. Glad you got to get those cymbal pads, the multiple zones on them are so useful. Oh and if you grab 'em just right you can choke the cymbal too! Also, haven't I seen you over on 1am-Mediaforums before?
