Holy crap I'm breezing through this game, got it yesterday for my birthday and now I have 84 stars and I'm not even done with World 5. Hopefully those Green Stars or whatever are as hard as the internet says they are, I haven't had any real trouble with any star yet, and that's just disappointing. There's been times I've died 10 or 20 times for a star, yes (rolling star ball level), but it's still relatively simple. I'm kind of glad I'm not yelling at the game as much as I did in the first game (fuck those manta ray races), but I kind of wish there was more of the frantic type of things like some of the purple coin comets in the first one... oh I guess I'll never be satisfied.

OCR02041 - Mega Man 2 "Coiled Copper Wire"
Tables replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
It's always fun to see a WIP make it to the real site. I always liked this remix, and I'm glad to see it here. It's so damn mellow! More acoustic remixes please haha -

OCR00054 - Metroid "efsisos featuring Samus Aran"
Tables replied to Joe Redifer's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
This was one of my first Remixes I ever downloaded, and it still holds up so well it's not even funny. It's one of my absolute favorites on the site, I will never ever skip it when it comes though my shuffle. The mood and execution is perfect, and if anything is fake it doesn't detract from the experience. I can't believe its so old... -

wip Goldenrod City Remix NEW AUDIO as of April 11
Tables replied to ExtremeYoshiFan's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I like elevator music =( Also, this is the classic case of 'this isn't a remix, it's a cover with no originality and lower quality than the original track'. I'm no Mixer but anyone can tell you that you just need more. Experiment! Add a funky intro, a chill break in the middle, one extra note somewhere. Right now it's nothing, certainly not 'mostly done' (also it's only 45 seconds). Try listening to one of the Pokemon Remixes on here if that gives you a better idea of what kinds of experimentation people go with as an example. sorry if I sound too harsh, I just want to get you on track for an excellent remix -
hurley fucking owns this show you can't pull 10 pokemon! Also: I liked the Richard episode more than most of this season's episodes, but at the same time I feel like it didn't really go anywhere. Was that episode written/directed by a different person than usual? Besides the obvious, it felt a lot different, different styles of camera work and narration and pacing that I felt like I really noticed.

If they can update Kirby 64 for... some reason, they can update and fix this game too Right? If that above quote is true.. well, I'd love to hear what I've been missing with the drums and all that.

I wouldn't get your hopes up from Curly Story, from what I see and hear it's (http://nintendo5star.blogspot.com/2010/03/cave-story-wii-differences.html)

Already got to Sacred Grounds before calling it a night. Okay, who else besides me hates nearly all the new music? Should have gotten OCR to do it :v Also, 'Huzzah' into 'Oh yeeaaaah'? Who thought of that one? Other then that I can't complain, the new graphics are nice and smooth (even if they don't seem too radically different except for things like Balrogs... nose thing and the entirety of Quote), and most importantly it's still fun! This is my fourth time playing it, and I don't regret dropping 1200 points on it. p.s I've never ever beaten Ballos so that is my goal for tomorrow

My stepdad had gotten all the way to the last set of levels in Crash Bandicoot 2. For some reason, with my file where I'm only to the second or third set, I save over his save He was pissed. Also, playing the Final Fantasy IV remake for the DS (the first version of the game I've ever played) I've had SO many 'Oh shit' moments where there's a boss right after a boss. Ughh

OCR01995 - Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask "Link to the Mask"
Tables replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Are you kidding that was one of the best lines. IMO. I loved the cheesy lyrics, and like said before 'Zelda' has a great voice. But I feel like Link's lines weren't delivered the best that they could be. And maybe it's my crappy headphones, but some of the instrumental parts of the song just seemed very... empty? Maybe that's normal in da big ol rapp scene, but it didn't float my boat. Oh and like the above poster said, 'props' for not swearing or going 'yo yo ughhhhhhh dawg yeah' -
True story: someone already made my dream remix, the one I always wanted to see http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01915/

Fantastic remix The atmospheric beginning is great, and until the main melody starts it reminds me a lot of Metroid Prime. Also I gathered it as if anyone else cared

Wow, even I remember this from the WIP forums. I feel like I'm part of this community! Pretty nice remix, some of it is a bit rough for my taste but like you said, it's a straightforward remix of some very catchy Zelda tunes, and it does manage to stay varied throughout the whole thing. The whistle thing solo around 3:30 was a nice touch. Nicely done Sam

OCR01983 - Animal Crossing "Letting Go"
Tables replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Oh man, I loved this track back when the unfinished animal crossing thing was released, and it's terrific to see it in the official OCR archives. Catchy as hell, and the little details make this listenable a hundred times. -
I'm very disappointed in all of you

Do you listen to soundtracks from games you've never played?
Tables replied to RETROMAN's topic in General Discussion
Guilty Gear and the Command and Conquer series, I'm guilty of both. I don't plan to play either of them since I suck at their respective genres, but damn if the music isn't fantastic. -
Du leveande (You, The Living) Pretty bizzare little forigein movie, I heard about it from John "Pictures For Sad Children" Campbell's Hourly Comic a year or two ago. Took me a while to find it...
