whether or not you play for fun doesn't have anything to do with a conversation that goes like this "hey guys I found this cool thing I can do as shen" "but why would you play as shen he is so bad???" regardless of whether or not you play dunk yi, 'talking about lol' is not really the same as 'shitting on somebody's choice of characters'

fallout 1 and 2 are horrible fallout 2 the game where you can do whatever you want well except for this mandatory and tedious dungeon at the beginning of the game that involves you walking around and stabbing scorpions in a really slow turn based system and possibly dying and having to start all over again before you even have a chance to enjoy all of the apparently good stuff a game isn't good if you have to trudge through a mountain of shit to get a piece of gold

play through a long and boring story as one class, fucking one character play through the same story as another class, fucking a different character oh man it's like I'm playing two different games

despite what most people think, some people play video games to have fun

why Riot hasn't let people play normal games with draft mode is beyond me

no actually what they need to be is player driven and geared towards personal experience rather than being a rambling and needlessly-interactive novel at no point has the definition of role playing game, nor will it ever, be synonymous with 'infinity cutscenes'

that's because you're incapable of believing that maybe your opinions of old video games have nothing to do with quality and everything to do with being old

DA and DA2 are actually pretty bad and you're deluding yourself

a good recent example of this is fallout 3 - there are tons of ways you can build your character but all of the ways that aren't 'my character is good at shooting guys' are essentially superfluous

most of the FF characters from Hollow Bastion were planned to appear in BBS but they were dropped as another plotline would have made the game even more confusing than it arguably already was

yeah this basically underappreciated, yes masterpieces, definitely not I've actually played both of these games for the first time fairly recently on the suggestions of others and the thing is that the story in both of them is not really any better than the best story efforts of any video games coming out these days - and since they're old RPGs, they play like absolute shit no I think everyone really does need to just a) take off the nostalgia goggles and stop caring about RPGs

it hasn't, it's just that making a game for a console tends to justify having a smaller narrative scope with a bigger focus on gameplay KH and KH2 were very cutscene and story heavy games and the third entry currently in development will likely be the same, which would logically mean a longer development cycle and one has to keep in mind that the KH series is essentially Nomura's pet project, something that he has less time for ever since Squeenix decided to put him in charge of every single other non-Dragon Quest game they make

bayonetta's music was phenomenal

actually with the exception of chain of memories all of the handheld KH spinoffs were pretty excellent
