  1. Yeah, Rainbow Dash also does some guest vocals in it, as well, but she didn't want to be credited.
  2. TECHNICALLY you can't hear Brandon's support to this, but he helped it along during the compositional process so I included him on here.Kingtiger did the raps, Syllix did the digeridoo, Prophecy did the deep non-vocoded voice + vomit and I did the bitchy voice + vocoded (as well as the arrangement, obviously).
  3. Shit man, don't scare me like that. I need at least a few weeks of recovery/catch-up before I can join another compo, and this one is one I want to do...
  4. Ooo shit, that's actually Prophecy, not Prophetic - my bad. He is the deep voice in the beginning and the vomit sound.
  5. You should be excite. I've got to say this is the most entertaining track I've done for the compo. Maybe not the "best", production-wise (I'm only human - time limitations have held me back, I know there's some heat in this one because of it), but the most fun, easily. Submitting it now, by the way - no matter the outcome of this round, I'll let you know this was a blast. Lyrics will be up tomorrow, unless KingTiger wants to put them up early.
  6. Nice fundraiser for a FF6 album, eh? Speaking of which, how's your FF6 album going?

I could participate with a Floating Island arrangement, if you're open to it.

  7. Goddamn, this is exausting. I'll have something decent, but it's very hard to pull off what I'm doing in this short of a time. It's... interesting, at least.
  8. This, so much this. I haven't been able to afford a console since the Gamecube, and have to be completely honest felt completely locked out of gaming because of it since mid-2000's. While the criticisms are perfectly valid against the system (not as powerful as other systems, features have already been done elsewhere, very aggressive timetable, etc.), the big, big draw for me is the complete gaming package at this price. PC gaming, if you want it to be any good, costs far and above this price tag and isn't nearly as reliable as a console (even games that are relatively small can run at less than optimal speeds, if your computer is full of other... things... [inb4pornjoke]), and other consoles are easy to compare against (even the cheapest current-gen console is still at least double the price of this). I'm a little skeptical on the developer's end (the potential to drive away developers due to the open & F2P market is a very valid concern), but otherwise I'm all for getting into console gaming again. That's why I backed it - perhaps I'm being a little too hopeful, but I feel that it could really go places, if people give this support at this stage.
  9. If someone asks for a four source remix, I'll do it for ya. Via the Kickstarter reward, that is - not just out of the blue.
  10. Mine's starting to move nicely. If I get it done on time, and everything comes together correctly, it will be the best song on the compo, from me. That's a big "if", though - things aren't easy to keep up this pace with. I want to end with a bang, so here's hopin'!
  11. The album does not cost 50$ per copy, nor is that a selling price of the album. Read the description on the Kickstarter page. The album and bonus DVD, along with the free downloads of other albums (and some other stuff that OCR may include into the 50$ range as a way to thank the donors in that level) will not come to 50$, nor should you expect it to, because it is not a purchase of the album. It's a donation so that OCR can make as many physical copies of the album as needed for promotion, future distributions, etc., to promote the site, as well as creating a budget so the albums can be as professionally mastered and produced as possible. When someone donates 50$, they are rewarded with one of the printings of the album (as the Kickstarter mentioned, it will be available as a reward or gift at conventions and such - the donation mark is one of the cases of being a reward). Again, this is not a purchase, it is a donation to a larger printing of the album for the sake of promotion for both the album and the site. I do believe it could have been made clearer in the kickstarter page that the money is also intended to support the site, as well, as this replaces the normal 'Support OCR Month' that normally helps keep this place afloat (there is mention of that on the page, but it's harder to find). A donation of 50$ should not be a purchase of the album - the album will be distributed freely, so if you want the music feel free to download it when it becomes available. It won't have all the bells and whistles of a hard copy, but that's all it is in the end - bells and whistles. A donation of 50$ should be made if you want to support the costs of the album (which has been met, obviously) or if you want to support what this site is about (which can use the money - it's not a cheap place to upkeep and expand, when needed, with all the bandwidth used with free downloads). If you don't want to support the site, then people don't need to donate. It's clear as day that the drive has hit it's mark, so unless the hard copy of the album (as well as the other bonuses) are worth 50$ to you then the only reason to donate would be to further help the site out and possibly allow for better mastering and production options for the album. I sent 50$ because I love the site and want to see it go for as long as possible. I hope people are donating for the same reason.
  12. Others have already linked to the other thread, but it might be wise to put a link to that thread on the first post. I'm sure Snappleman isn't the only person who is coming to that conclusion after not searching the site for a place where it'd make sense that these things would be moved to.
  13. It's a very nice revamp, for sure. Between the instrument choices and arrangement I could certainly see this being rejected on conservative grounds, though. That's just a clash between OCR's direction and your choice, though - nothing wrong with that. Thanks for sharing, though - if you want to submit another track sometime feel free to run it by in the WIP area first. Myself and a few other moderators will be able to make that call for you here rather than waiting monthd for the J's the say the same thing. It's what were here for, after all.
  14. It has been delayed multiple times, but it's still moving. The information is a little bit old (OA agreed to help me out on it some time ago with the choir, but was forced to move on since then). I would love to have you on board, though - what parts were you responsible for singing?

  15. Awesome news all around, but that track is MADE for AeroZ. I really hope you get in touch with him - have you tried his Youtube account? Maybe you'll be able to catch him on some alternative media outlets.
  16. I wanted that Ferrari, but they told me no. In all seriousness, though, that is currently being worked out by the staff. Zircon was kind enough to give a breakdown on the original 15k goal on Kickstarter - some of it is going into the album production, in fact (I have no specifics in that regard - that's Zircon's deal). EDIT: Missed this, but Zircon mentioned what that was for in another thread... So that's what the extra production costs might be going into. There will be a portion that goes back into the site, of course - seeing that this is replacing the 'April is Support OCR Month' that normally raises the money that keeps the site going, I don't think that's uncalled for (Considering the Support OCR month has raised up to 7000+$ in the past, that is a considerable amount to make up). The rest is being worked on, as it stands - give the staff a little time to respond to the overwhelming support; they'll be open with you all when they finalize their decisions.
  17. Hmm, for every album? I dunno, there'd probably be quite some diminishing returns, if they did that, and people would likely get the wrong idea about OCR. This is turning out to be one hell of a success, though.
  18. Damn, this is the year of Final Fantasy arrangement albums. This came completely out of nowhere, though - and what a great surprise it is! Glad to see where you've been all this time, Tweek!
  19. It's exactly as you say - a rockin' cover for the piano, and it's might sexy. If you ever need help arranging a tune you can always hit me up - a piano remix would be fun to arrange.
  20. Hey, if people are interested in this, MindWanderer made another thread in the Compo section for this. Check it out there!
  21. That is not what you do. You say "Yes, I'll do it.", then send all the information and payment schedules my direction.
  22. Yeah - the Sonic compo is forcing me to push my other obligations closer to when this is going, and by the time I'm done with those I'll want a week or so of a break from remixing. Even still, I'll be in on this at a later date, for sure.
  23. Ooo, you're getting right on this, eh? I'd love to participate, but amid the Sonic compo and a few other album obligations I'm going to have to sit this out for the first round. You can count on me as a STAR in later rounds, though.
  24. Best necro of 2012. Shit, I wasn't even a member of OCR when this thread was made.
  25. Sorry I'm not giving any critique on this, yet, but I would like to say that this is pretty fucking awesome. There's a lot of sweet licks in this, some nice guitar work in this, and the source is fucking great. I'm waiting to see Willrock in this thread - this is like one of his favorite sources ever.
