  1. Just read the sticky that's at the top of this forum, that'll clear it up. Gollgagh's pretty much right on the money.
  2. Shit, man. Yeah, that, pretty much. /thread
  3. ... Nah, everyone is a lot of people. It's only 14-15 votes in. Mathematically, if everyone else who has voted before voted for me I'd still in by a landslide. Not that I'd need it - while I know what I'd do for the next round, I could use the time off of the compo to sort some other more important stuff out, if it doesn't work out for me, here.
  4. I'm not apologetic in this regard.
  5. If it reminds you of some familiar poetry, that's because I unabashedly ripped off Edgar Allen Poe's "Annabelle Lee" and moved a couple of words around to make it take place at a 'Floating Sanctuary' and be about the (not mutual) interest of 'Rose, Amy'. I'm not nearly clever enough to make lyrics of that caliber, but I am clever enough to, in the middle of the night, take someone else's work and fudge it a bit to fit my needs. It's public domain, so there shouldn't be a problem with it, lol.
  6. Hm probably. Movie industry is also real anal. Oh you guyz
  7. Silent World has been taken by JakeSnke17, and it's pretty darned cool. When Bahamut gets back he'll update the first page to reflect that information.
  8. On second listen, yeah, it is a little messy. Oh well, didn't have the time to make the vocals ledgible, sadly.
  9. I'll have something. It's just going to absolutely kill my day in a few hours, is all. Not the first time in this compo that I'm working through the night, anyway. ... It's a bit odd, but I kind of like it. EDIT: HA! I got the arrangement done. Time to master it, send it in and go to slee... I mean, go to school. EDIT2: Submitted. No freebies, this round.
  10. *raises eyebrow* You know that I only have 30 seconds in this track and I planned on having this track be a vocal track since the beginning of the compo, right? I also was unable to produce my music soon enough for my vocalist to get anything in to me (entirely my fault), so I'm now stuck on my own. Trust me, you very well have a chance at winning this. This was not my week, at all.
  11. Except mine - she says she hates your guts, man. No clue what you said to her...
  12. Stealing music from artists that put themselves out there for free is a low blow. I don't see unconventional, effective action against it as a dirty tactic at all.
  13. Well, there was a discussion on that front, actually, and that old restriction has lifted considerably with DjP coming down and explaining that pure chiptunes were not restricted at all. The only issue they have is that they are compared to any other production technique, which often produces a much fuller soundscape much easier. Since no one has tried to submit too many chiptunes to the site, nothing had passed yet, but there's a bit of a challenge out there to get some chiptune music on the site, at the moment. Your style is actually quite complex, thick and aurally tasty - I suspect that it'd have a really good shot at becoming post-able material. You can't say you'd never make it unless you tried, eh? Also, I found your music worth some moneh. It's pretty damn good.
  14. I wish laziness was the issue that I was having. I've had some serious problems goin' down in life this week - for the first time ever in a compo I'm not sure I'll be able to pull it off. I will try, though, so don't write me off quite yet.
  15. I don't think he was in it for the glory. He was in it for ~£5 a download per album.
  16. I have given it a listen, and I concur that it's freakin' awesome. Hopefully people are checking out your stuff. Kind of makes me think a remix or two in this style would be amazing...
  17. Willrock, predictions at the beginning of a compo are harmless, as that's just people rooting for their favorite mixer. In the beginning, everyone has favorites, so that's normal. It is disrespectful to make such predictions when it is a head's up match and the music isn't posted yet, as that's a direct way of stating that one musician isn't any good compared to the other. It's actually pretty demoralizing. I haven't seen that sort of thing at the end of a compo yet, save for this one, probably for the reason stated above. I'm pretty sure Lucavi means no harm from it, but hopefully the hostile responses in this thread will show that it is offensive to do so at this stage of the game. The remixers have all responded, and I'm sure Lucavi didn't think about his post when he posted it, so we can drop the issue and get back to the music, now. In the grand scheme of things a few people are hurt, but a week from now no one is going to give a shit 'cause they'll be eagerly anticipating the outcome of the Amphibious vs. Gario match-up.
  18. A little late for me to comment, but it sounds much better, imo. Good luck on the panels!
  19. Flik! Willrock! BIRTHDAY! Be sure to drink a lot and shit to celebrate, then get people to take pictures of all the amazingly stupid situations you guys get yourselves into!
  20. There isn't a Lufia 1 project, as of yet. This project used to cover both games, but there simply was no interest to remix Lufia 1's soundtrack, so it was dropped in favor of making this album more focused.
  21. Aww... I miss the ORC.
  22. Here's a thought on the compo - rather than making it a tiered or tournament styled competition, why not make it something that's bi-monthly or monthly? Something like presenting a single song or soundtrack that each group gets to chose from, allow three days to a week for each person who wants to participate to find a partner, allow for another week or two for remixing, then a week for voting. Winners get to pick next game or song and the competition repeats. With all of these tourney compos that have been cropping up lately it seems like it's ripe for an alternative to come up once again. Unlike other compos, there is the incentive to work with other experienced remixers (and the opportunity to help newer remixers, pending on which side that you're on), so people may volunteer for a compo like this one more so than normal. It also removes experienced remixers the obligation to participate immediately - if Willrock, Zircon, Sixto, Myself, etc., can't participate one round due to whatever time restrictions but still want to participate, they very well could in another round. It'll allow for more people to join in at their leisure.
  23. Aw man, I missed these. Nice, nice work on that one, man - at the end there, I was sweatin' bullet with you... Looked really tough.
  24. This is kind of awesome. Don't know how I missed it on April Fools... wait, yeah I do, I was on the road. Fortunately you all reposted it here, 'cause it's great. Nice almost-bad-but-not-quite-bad singing, all around.
  25. Pfft, no you don't - you could always not submit and give me a free pass. Very close round for the two of us though - I was sweating bullets all week.
