I don't really mean to call him out or make fun of him or say he has no skill, but isn't that more reason he should learn to compose his own parts? I mean it's his remix, he can do what he wants, but he said he is a beginner, I'm just offering some advice that says that he should become a better musician by composing his own stuff (not original compositions, maybe just original parts for remixes like this) before doing something as challenging as a successful mash up. I never said he HAD to, I said he should. And BTW I didn't say mash-ups weren't music, like I explained above it's better for a musician to develop through composing his own material. In my opinion, anyway, because in my experience that was what helped ME develop as a musician. The more I kept starting new songs and making parts for them, the more I came to understand how they were to fit together. Plus I have Shariq. He's not my teacher, just sort of a guy to ask for advice. It's always nice to ask around the more experienced people and try out their techniques for yourself, and mend it into your own style. In my case, I'm sort of branching out from Shariq's style. If you want to be completely self taught, you should also listen to music (besides video game music). But people can learn from mashups too, but it helps to know some music theory before doing a mashup. Knowing basics like key, tempo, and time signatures are essential. I never learned from mashups, and I can't imagine learning time sigs/tempos/chords/keys from them, but hey- everyone's different.

Nice. Retains the jazzy feel of the original. If they made Sonic 3&Knuckles HD Remix, this should def. be the theme for Hydrocity zone.

Emo means you're so depressed and emotional that you hurt (usually cutting your wrist is what everyone expects from emo people) yourself intentionally. If you don't hurt yourself, you're not emo. You're just depressed.

I kinda have to agree, I only played FFVII once (just recently, like this recent summer) and I pretty much got the story down. Maybe you were just too distracted by the empty/dark/depressing parts to pay attention to the story.

I thought Sephiroth was controlling Cloud. Could it be that Jenova was controlling Sephiroth to control Cloud?

Trust me, if I had a decent graphics card and a decent processor, AND if I could convince my dad to pay 15 a month for it (which I would have a slim chance of doing) I could, but I can't, because I lack the age for a credit card and a decent gaming computer. I actually wouldn't go nuts by grinding bots because I would be too busy marveling. Just by watching Shariq I get all excited because the chaining skills and the flying and the graphics are sweet.

That is both hilarious and creepy. xD If I was surrounded by spambots I would go nuts. I'd rather be alone...

If you can't solo in an MMORPG and/or you DON'T have a thick skin, it's not worth playing. When I played Tabula Rasa, the community was actually pretty cool and a vast majority of them on the server I played were fine. Now when I played WoW demo, I found myself going solo most of it because I didn't like the community. Going solo is a great way to get past a terrible community.

First of all... I don't mean to sound rude, but... you should get rid of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger." You should learn to how to make music, not make mashups (mashups= mashing songs together) But the song HBFS doesn't match Tetris in terms of chords at all. You had some great stuff going, but HBSF pretty much drowned out and ruined the great stuff you had going under it.

I love it, I actually like the the high frequencies! They sorta pierce your mind, but then they just sit there and don't hurt much more.

The point of this topic is to prove that people should not dislike FFVII because it is emo, and the review explains that while the plot is dark, it's not emo.

Whoa... just remember in video games there's always a way... if it seems like impossible just do what you'd rather not. Walk in every walkable space, talk to every person, and then start over (repeat ten times). And most importantly, hit the A (or circle) button in every place possible. It may seem time consuming, but it's better then wondering around for 99:59:59.

Cloud's never a broken shell of himself. Otherwise he wouldn't be trying to save the world. And there's only one FFVII sequel, just so you know. It's called Advent Children, oh, yeah, and he saves the world in that one too.

Yeah, I mean Cloud isn't a broken shell at the end of the game... he's actually stronger than his former self. You're forgetting that while him going downhill is interesting to do rather than always winning, the game's not gonna be fun either if that's all he does. He's gotta man up and beat the crap outta the big bad at some point, and he does that at the end, three times. Bizarro Sephiroth (I killed with one knights of the round) Safer Sephiroth (I killed with one knights of the round) Sephiroth (Cloud automatically gains Omnislash and he just hacks away with 5000+ damage per strike at Sephiroth while changing pretty colors.) And I must be missing something here: At school, everyone's definition of emo is: so depressed that you cut yourself. Is there any time in Cloud's life where he just cuts himself? No, so he's not emo.

You don't need to learn music theory to figure out how to use a music program. GUYS HE'S NOT ASKING HOW TO WRITE A SONG He's asking how to use FL (like how to use VST's and stuff)! I would go with Arcana's suggestion and use that book or find a "Fl Studio for dummies" book if you're lucky.

Cloud really wasn't emo... he was just dead. It's like Tifa: OMG CLOUD SHINRA'S ATTACKING US Cloud: ...okay... *kills everything* He just kinda lost himself for a great majority of the game. He was never "emo", he's just "dead" in the sense that he's really sad and nothing really gets him excited or happy. I mean he lost his best friend (Zack) and another best friend (Aeris) and he found out that he wasn't really as powerful as he thought he was (the whole thing about he thought he was in SOLDIER) and he got effed up by Jenova cells and so on... I mean, come on. He also gets stabbed several times and shot (advent children complete edition) and blown up not to mention he falls through the roof of a church twice (once in FFVII once in advent children)... the guy is still trying to save the world, if anything he's selfless, not emo. xD
