  1. I really enjoyed this remix even though i'm not too familiar with the source theme. FFIX is probably one of the only FF games i never played before. I'll post a detailed critique of it when i get more time probably tomorrow or tuesday.
  2. Well, i've gotten very lazy as of lately with my music, lol.
  3. HA! I didn't recognize the name. I loved the Deus Ex soundtrack and like Gario said, its a pleasure to have you here sir! And, again, looking forward to hearing more of the new works.
  4. Hmmm....a metal song about Kitties....the possibilities, lol. Can't wait to see what you come up with man!
  5. Sometimes it sounds a little out of sync, but that may be the reverb and or delay on some of the tracks. After 1:25, it sounds really good. I have the Miroslav Philharmonik but haven't even messed around with it enough yet. I really like the percussion. The concert bass drum and that snare sound really good. Its a really good first start. For some reason though i think sometimes the strings are a bit too shreiky. It might have to do with the EQ settings you've got on it. Other than that, it sounds really good man.
  6. I like this stuff. Its very catchy. I listened to the first 2 tracks. The intro was intriguing cause there isn't much too it but its a nice lead in. In the second track are you doing the singing? Also, are those drums live? Both sound very good and everything really sounds right production/mixing wise. I can tell you've spent a good amount of time on it dude. Your a very good singer and a good song writer on top of that. I'm gonna download the rest so i can check it out later.
  7. Whether or not it is, i really appreciate the feedback. Especially so quickly I went back and improved on everything mentioned and i think its one step closer maybe? I also added a quick rising then slow dropping string section right after the solo. I really think that helps add a bit more of the source as well as make it sound very climactic right before the final part of the song. Let me know what you guys think? Thanks, Joe
  8. Yeah, i play the guitar, not write lyrics, lol. I suppose i really could if you can't come up with anything, but its better off the singer write them.
  9. I'm up for writing anything, but my styles mostly evolve around metal and rock. Although i have written my fair share of videogame music. Click here to download Tutorial1.mp3 That one is for a video game project i'm writing for right now so its just more of an example. Click here to download Corrupted Hole.mp3 This is a very good example of an original track i wrote thats very Final Fantasy inspired. Click here to download NintenJoe 64 - Final Sunset.mp3 This is more of a hard rock themed song with a nice lead. You can also check out my youtube page and my tindeck page for lots of other works i've complete. Also, i've got my first original album up on reverbnation. Click on the NintenJoe banner below in my sig to hear that. I'm really up for writing anything and am always looking to be a part of something musically. Let me know what ya think! Thanks, Joe
  10. Absolutely! I already had someone say they'll do Always Wrong, but i'm more than up for hearing your version of it! Again, let me hear what ya got! Everyone has a slightly different style and up for hearing different versions!
  11. LOL, nice! I'm glad some people are enjoying it! I love writing just insanely metal and epic tracks like this, lol. I actually haven't had it long enough to really get that in depth with it. It does make sense, and i kinda new about drum production already, that each part of the drum kit needs its own track. That way you can get more in depth with the mixing cause not every part of the drum kit will need/use the same exact compression and EQing. BTW, i checked that track you wrote and i like it. You can hear how the drums sound and i like that too. I'll have spend more time on the drums like i mentioned above.
  12. HA! i knew it was something pretty simple, lol. Thanks man.
  13. Alright. I did a little more cleaning up and i think its pretty decent now. Let me know if there's anything else in need of change. ALSO, i'm really not sure how to change the status of the thread to is says Mod Review. I'm sure its somewhat easy, but i can't figure it out. thanks I forgot a link to the source as well: Legend Of Zelda NES Underworld (Dungeon)
  14. Hi, i wrote this track called Always Wrong and i'm looking for someone who can provide some vocals for it. I don't have any lyrics written so i'm more than open to lyric suggestions. I can write something for it if the willing person doesn't want to write lyrics. Here's the song: Here's another sort of power/prog metal track called Through Darkness i wrote that could use some vocals as well: Just send me a PM if you are interested.
  15. Alright, well i used a different choir vst entirely but also trimmed back the notes the choir sings. I also tweaked the kick drum. Its not compressed and i tried bringing the sound of it out more so its clearer.
  16. I'm glad you enjoyed and i've had that happen to me before also. I HATE when i do that. Or when you type a whole message out and click post and the f***ing connection times out, lol. Anyways. I didn't even realize that the kick was overcompressed. I'll fix that in the next update. Also, its funny cause the strings at least are East West Play samples and are the closest to authentic that i could get, lol. I'll try another choir vst i have and see if that helps also. I'll post an update later or tomorrow probably. Thanks guys, Joe
  17. I use Mixcraft 5, but usually my stuff comes out, well, good. Sorry man, i really think your just messing with us here. Your DKC3 remix was exactly like this. If not man, then i apologize cause your probably trying to work on your writing/mixing skills. Try using the SNAP function of the program. Its the drop box towards the top in the middle of the program screen. That'll help line things up for you. That same SNAP function also applies for when your editing/writing the virtual instruments. Good luck man. PS clicking on that banner of yours just brings you to where the image file is. It doesn't bring you to any music or site otherwise.
  18. Please tell me that this was intentional off time? lol if so, lol.
  19. Yes sir! This does make me think A LOT of Deus Ex, and that's a great thing. The production is tight and it never really gets old. It flows very well and i think the instrument choices are spot on. I really enjoyed listening to this and can't wait to hear more from you.
  20. Thank you for that btw, I've already got ideas and can't wait to get started on this. I usually work very steadily so i'll probably already have a WIP for ya in a couple days.
  21. Alright, so i fixed some more things. First is replaced and sort of extended the section just after the orchestration and before the guitars come in to be more suspenseful. Your welcome Dj Mokram . Also i tweaked the choirs a bit, especially in the beginning. Then i did a little more tweaking of the track as a whole. I tried bringing the orchestration and leads out more from the rest of the track. I added some slight reverb to the drums to make them not so dry. I think it may still need a bit more. ALSO, i cut the part in half the plays at :45 so its not so long now. Then i added a solo over the last part of the song and switched up the instruments slightly that play that last part also.
  22. Alright, i wrote this song after Total Disaster, but i still need to work on the drums more. The arrangement is mostly finished. Although i'm thinking of adding a lead of some kind to the "verse" section. I say that cause its the part where its just the fast drums and guitars playing the 16th notes. I think some kind of keyboard/synth solo would be cool but i think i wanna do a collab for that cause after a while my keyboard solos all sound the same,
  23. First of all, damn you for getting this song stuck in my AGAIN after getting it out only a little bit ago, lol. Nah, i like this remix. I'm a HUGE metal fan but some reason i can't get her songs outta my head. Guess its one of those singers you can't still playing. Anyways, i have to admit that the part right at 3:00 and afterwards with the repeating vocal sound byte. I understand its part of the remix thing and the genre also, but maybe its a bit too much? Might just be me. All in all though man its solid. Very well produced and an interesting take on the track. Looking forward to hearing more from you man!
  24. I understand that and i like the Devin mention. Devin rules! Anyways, i love the way it sounds, but mostly cause these drums mix much better for metal than my previous drums. Check the originals thead cause like i mentioned i saved OVER my damn project file for this song, lol. I've got another song i wrote after this one that's very similar in style. I'm hoping to get more feedback, especially on the drums cause that's always very important in metal.
  25. Hey Brandon, i sent you a PM requesting the victory fanfare. For examples of my work, click my NintenJoe banner below in my sig. It'll take you to my reverbnation page with my original album on there. Definitely check out Dead and Empty Silence.
