  1. Ya know, of course i had to go and save over my project file for this track. I have all the sound files though. Oh well, the song is kinda done for now. I'm gonna post another song i wrote similar in style to this one tomorrow cause i wanna get the drums down better. Thanks guys.
  2. Why thank you! I'm hoping you'll ike this update. Yeah, while i like my original version and a lot of people feel the same way, i just thought it could be better. Well this version is close to the length i want it, but i need to still work some things out. About the drums, i'll mess around with it for my next update. Its late here and i already had this mixed down from earlier. I kept the same dark, metal sort of vibe as the first part of the track. I really am hoping to sub this, although we'll about that. I made some basic changes to the production of the track as well as make it longer. I tried making the orchestration, especially in the beginning more vibrant and prominent. As for the ending, i'm not really sure how to end it yet, so it just kinda ends, lol. I'll work on that too for my next update. I also kinda made a quick quiet spot before the guitars come in, let me know if i should make it longer? Also i switched up the drum track after the :45 part. I meant to switch it up more, but i'll do that tomorrow. Let me know what you guys think?
  3. Yeah, i know, and i appreciate Snappleman commenting on my track. Although i sense its cause you DON'T like DFH, lol. But that's ok. I was just happy to use something that didn't take up as much room in the mix as my older drums did. I hear what your saying and even though i have the "human" button clicked, i need to mess around a little bit with the velocities. On my next update i'll try and fix that. I'm glad at least the production is really getting there. I'll post an update of this track soon.
  4. Here's my metal version of the dungeon theme from Legend of Zelda from the NES. I know its been done a FEW times before, but i'm hoping my version gives a fresh look at it. Its only 1:31 long right now cause i'm really not sure where to with it from here, but i'm hoping you guys have a suggestion. I think i've got the orchestration pretty well separated and the guitars pretty well mixed in. I did a version a couple years ago of this theme, but i really like the theme and wanted to take a better stab at it. Thanks guys.
  5. Thank you. Its more of an example of what i can do. Although i'm trying to expand my repertoire to other genres.
  6. First of all, that song is fantastic and sounds likes its right outta Final fantasy. I wrote something to the tune of a Final fantasy theme. Its much more of an SNES Final fantasy sounding tune, but i think you'll get the idea. and here's a good example of an orchestrated track i wrote: or just check my reverbnation page for more of my music to get an idea of what i can do. I just love writing music for projects. Let me know what ya think and if i could be able to help you out?
  7. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The drums are new. I was using a different program before and they didn't sound too hot for metal. These are soooooo much better, lol. I really love this remix. Eventually i'm gonna do the smithy part 2 battle as well. Or any other theme from this game that you think would sound good as a metal remix.
  8. I wouldn't mind being a part of this. A metal Zelda album would be really cool and i think it has a lot of potential. I can collab but don't have enough time for anymore than that.
  9. A remix album for this game would just be epic. I did a metal remix of the Smithy Battle Part 1 remix a little while ago, but i just went back and touched it up. I hope you enjoy it. Super Mario RPG Smithy Battle Part 1 Metal ReMix
  10. Yeah, i just got these samples a couple days ago and this is the first track i wrote using them. So i've still got some slight tweaking to do with them. I'm glad you enjoyed the track. I loved the way this one came out.
  11. Alright i fixed up the cymbals to not be completely the same and i also adjusted some minor volume issues. Then i added some bass boosts/blasts at certain points to help with the overall power of the track.
  12. Amazing as usual my friend. I can't say anything but it needs to be longer!! Although i know tracks like this aren't too long anyways. I really love when it all comes together at :48 or so. Are the concert drums the Stormdrum sample library? If so then i gotta get that too. Always looking forward to more my friend.
  13. I appreciate the comment none-the-less. As for the kick drum, i didn't even really notice that. I mean, it sounds good, but i hear what your talking about. I'll work on that. As for the constant crash hits, i need to go in there and switch it up a bit between that and some big cymbal crashes so its not too repetitive. Again man, thanks for the comment. Metal does indeed RULE!
  14. Here's a quick song i did using ezDrummer. Specifically its the drumkit from hell expansion that goes along with ezdrummer. I'm really hoping these drums some more realistic than what i was getting out of beatcraft. Beatcraft is a good program, but not for metal. I can hear the difference already and i think it sounds so much better. Let me know what ya think? Thanks guys.
  15. When its finished, its finished peeps. Looking forward to hearing this album, but just because i'm a Zelda fan and nothing else.
  16. The LoZ theme might be overdone, but that's cause its kickASS!!! Anyways...I like the changes. I've listened to about 6 or 7 times now and again while i'm writing this. Its sounds so much brighter and clearer now and now that i listen to it, its definitely got the right balance of liberal and source in there. One thing i still really think it needs is an accompanying concert drum beat when the brighter theme comes in around :43 and again at 2:08. Here's an example of what i mean for the part at :43 when that lead comes in to play the source: and here's an example of what i mean for the part that starts at 2:08: Try doing something along those lines and see how it sounds. The main problem i have with it is that, especially towards the end there, it lacks the big rhythm and sound that it should. I think that sort of beat, or a variation there of, would really help tie this together. Also, try adding some reverse cymbal crashes right before the big sections come in. ie, the intro and right before the 2:08 part. Also, right before that last orchestra hit would be an ideal place also. You can find some decent ones by searching for reverse cymbal crash sample on google. As for whether or not it'll pass, you're only gonna find out one way man. Sub it and see! I think you've got a decent shot my man.
  17. I don't think the percussion is all that cheesy. If you could improve on that, then awesome. The transitions weren't too harsh and one thing i could suggest to help those is a reverse cymbal crash. Other than that, i can't really find any other issues. Maybe some of the other guys can help more than i can right now. i'm looking forward to your next update!
  18. Yeah, the track listing SHOULD be as follows: 1. Be Strong 2. Uprising (Downfall Pt 1) 3. Super Natural Revelations 4. Dead 5. Voices Broken 6. Remorse 7. The Judge 8. Remembrance (Interlude) 9. Empty Silence 10. Glorious Burden (Downfall Pt 2) 11. Savior 12. Galactic Genocide 13. Termination 14. Quiet Despair I don't know why it doesn't show the proper track #. I spent sometime adjusting that. Oh well, lol.
  19. I hear ya about the OCD when it comes to my iPod, lol. I don't know why it won't let you change the track data. Are you trying to edit it in iTunes? Or another program? If you can't solve the problem let me know and i'll see what i can do fix that.
  20. I don't usually listen to this type of music, but i do have some knowledge of it. Listening to it, i do think the drums could be thicker. Especially the bass and snare drums. This is very apparent right when they kick back in around 1:28. If you left they the way are for the first part of the song that would be fine. As long as you make them a little louder and more vibrant after 1:28. I do really like the whole phaser effect right before 1:28, its a nice touch. The piano at 2:42 that comes with what sounds like a distant high string sample is also a very nice touch. My only complaint there is that its pretty quiet. Especially with the synth that plays throughout the whole track. Make it a little louder so it stands out cause it really is a nice piece. All in all man, this is a great start. You've captured the sound you wanted to capture, but i think fixing those few small issues will make your track sound even better in the long run and help with future projects.
  21. I'll do a critique on the Midnight in Paradise song you wrote. I know the piano's distortion is on purpose, but maybe its still just a tad too much? I get what your going for though and it kinda works. The strings sound great. Very vibrant. My only issue with the piano is that at 1:29 when the lead piano comes in maybe leave that clean with no distortion. Is that a live guitar? Cause it sounds great. Other than piano i don't really have any complaints. I love the feeling of the track. I know its based off an actual song, but you did a great job remaking it here. Btw, i subbed to your channel and sent a friend request on youtube. I really like your stuff man. I know you probably looking for feedback more on your WIPs, but when i have more time later i'll check them out and let you know what i think.
  22. Yeah, i hear the similarities. Remix the Sauce is a good place for remixes also. They have a panel too, but as long as it doesn't completely suck, it'll get posted.
  23. Well, you've going in the right direction, but i should warn you that doing an orchestral remix of an orchestral song is basically calling it a cover. Nothing wrong with that, unless you plan on submitting it to the judges. They probably won't take kindly to that. That being said i can continue with the critique. All the instruments sound ok. The percussion sounds decent. I like how the concert drum's bass level stands out. Gives it that heavy feeling. The cymbal hits sound distant. If it were me, i would want them a little louder and maybe a little more up front. You don't want them drowning everything else out though. The strings don't sound too bad. They might be a tad quiet is all. The flute parts are a nice touch and sound too bad. I see what you did on the outro that starts around 2:28 or so. The outro sounds kinda it should be FF7, lol. Anyways, a general point of advice here is to also try doubling certain tracks, ie strings, horns, and the such, and then pan each one opposite each other at a different percentage. Try the strings at 85% panned and the horns 75% panned. Or just mess around with it til you get a good sound. This will help strengthen the track as a whole. The last gripe i have with this song is that it sometimes lacks that loudness an orchestra would have. Again, it could be going back to what you said about the soundcard, but that might be the issue. Its also very dry, meaning no real fx anywheres. Try adding some reverb to the strings and orchestra, and maybe a slight delay to the flute parts. Also reverb on the percussion, especially the snare and concert drum, would really help. Everything sound decently balanced and i think your heading in the right direction with this. I love orchestral stuff so keep at it man.
  24. Ahh yes, i remember spring break....lol. No more spring break for us working fellows. Anyways, my track is already finished so i'm good here, but i'm hoping we get some people to finish up those last few tracks.
  25. I took your advice and put some reverse cymbal samples at those time spots, fixed the note at 2:32, added the 2 kick hits at 3:02, AND changed the intro solo around to match the one later in the track. Whew, so that and the guitar part that harmonizes at 1:45 now plays 3rd notes instead of 5th notes. Gives it that more subtle feeling. I agree that maybe now this one is done and i can work on another new after a few other things, lol.
