  1. That's awesome news - congratulations & !
  2. You're like the ONLY one Actually, the source is pretty strange as well, and the game itself was rather odd... enemies looked like hooded Klu Klux Klan members who got tired of wearing white all the time and went CRAZY with the colors. For some additional context, my primary motivation behind this mix was to get some arcade love going but more importantly to do something "Latin"... is this Latin? No, I think it's probably just "Mediocre,"... it's DEFINITELY not Salsa, and I don't even know what the hell "El Salsa" was all about. My apologies to Spanish speakers everywhere; my intentions were good!
  3. I haven't played any of these games but I've been strongly considering making one of them my next RPG... I suppose my question is, should I go with 3:FES or 4, now that it's out? Any reason one would be better to start with than the other, besides simple chronology?
  4. Bumping to let y'all know you ROCK, and the feedback is appreciated. Everybody chip in, for great justice!
  5. Yes, we were down today from it looks like around 10:30 AM to 4:24 PM EST. I logged a case with our host who seem to have fixed it. I haven't gotten an explanation yet, all I know is the server itself was up and this issue was somewhere else. UPDATE: Server was up but only serving a single IP, potentially related to the ipaliases service having errors/not running. This bit us once before awhile back, and I'm pressing for a more permanent solution so it doesn't happen again.
  6. God, I'm sorry, maybe it's that you're not communicating your thoughts clearly, or maybe it's that your thoughts are just fucking ridiculous. Just because a game is OLD doesn't mean it's for older gamers. If that were true, it would defeat a lot of what we do here, and there's ample evidence that it's not true. That's a narrow viewpoint that suggests that younger gamers should only go for the shiny new stuff... it's REALLY close-minded and I expected more from you. Also I'd fired up Anniversary Collection on my PS2 a month BEFORE we got in touch w/ Capcom. The game succeeds and is still relevant because of its GAMEPLAY. Newsflash. Uh-huh... how come they kept delaying, then? I know, I know... they wanted to build up hype, right? How come they did a beta and asked for community feedback? All part of the money-making scam? For a company looking to make a quick buck and rest on their laurels, they SURE went the extra mile!! And what IS a modern franchise? SF4 is coming soon, and as far as fighting games go, modern has never meant better... SF2 defined the genre and remains extremely relevant. Also, let me get this straight... you're mad that you weren't considered for arranging a soundtrack to a game you "don't see the appeal" of? What the hell is wrong with you? We've explained this in numerous interviews if you cared to read them. Frankly, it sounds like you're just whining because you weren't involved, and everything else is just bullshit you're making up to mask what amounts to a jealous temper tantrum that you've had the bad judgment to make embarrassingly public. We started with BotA PLUS existing mixes on the site, and attempted to contact mixers whose pieces CAPCOM selected for revisions. When we couldn't get in touch and/or CAPCOM didn't like any of the options presented, folks like AE and AnSo had a track record for quick turnaround that we needed based on the deadlines presented to us. And your argument about people who "want to do this for a living" deserving some sort of special treatment or consideration is the worst type of bullshit I've ever seen you write. This is a fan community, and while we certainly embrace and encourage those artists who choose to pursue music as their career, we will never in any way draw a distinction or give them special treatment because of it. Period. Shame on you. Do you want to take bets on how many copies sell in the long run? Does it matter? What number would make you admit the horseshit you've been posting here is really just guise for a shameless complaint that you weren't on the soundtrack? A million? Five million? At Mag, I suggest we print out a copy of this thread so you can explain to us all how ANYTHING you said in your post above makes an ounce of sense. You've got a lot to answer for. If it seems like I tore you a new one, here, it's probably because you NEED a new one...
  7. CRIKEY, MATES! USE THE OCR AMAZON STORE! http://www.ocremix.org/amazon/?id=/detail/B001M5UDGS/ This... is not the hammer
  8. Well, just to clarify, SC2 WAS pretty badass, had great music, and we're not trying to poop on it with our press release about HD Remix, but in my opinion, it was different enough (competition, developer also worked on it) from what we did here that we weren't stretching the truth.
  9. Well, for one, your tone indicates that nothing we say will really make you happy. However, since you point out an interesting bit of history - albeit in a very trollish fashion - it's worth mentioning that we used the word "completely" for a REASON. While you are 100% correct that SC2's soundtrack included work by fans, it ALSO included work by some of the game's developers, namely Erol Otus. Correct us if we're wrong about that; otherwise you're the one lying, no?
  10. Planning on using pChart for stuff like this - price is right, and it caches.
  11. To clarify, we did present multiple options for each track to Capcom, and they chose what they thought worked best. We really didn't push one version over another: they made the call. I love both takes on the theme. I definitely think AE's works brilliantly in-game.
  12. I LOL'd. I didn't get a beta key, and I'm interested... SOMEONE, somewhere, at some point in time is going to create a compelling, OPEN, mmo-style universe that can be plugged into like Facebook but doesn't have a ridiculous, limiting, archaic, crappy architecture like Second Life. Remember in the early days of the web, when people were hyped about VRML, now X3D? Something like that, only good... it's inevitable, but the wait sure is frustrating...
  13. Given that this was premeditated, it would have been REALLY meta if someone had rickrolled the rickroll, playing a recording OVER the live performance. THAT would have been glorious.
  14. One torrent, mp3 & FLAC, is what we're doing. 592MB, including Windows FLAC installer. As for good reasons why not to do two torrents, well, it's hard getting dedicated seeders, and the entire bittorrent mechanism works better when there's more people on a given torrent. IMO the FLAC torrent would be dead in a week... combined torrent actually HELPS those arguing for FLAC, because it brings the MP3 peeps to their seeding aid, and what not. Plus one torrent makes our lives easier.
  15. Game's AWESOME. I have to say, the limited beta really had me worrying. A lot. I could see where, if they fixed a few things, it would at least be passable, but there wasn't much polish, it didn't feel cohesive. They fixed every last issue I had, personally. Our music's there, guys and gals. Front and center. I downloaded all 303MB, fired this baby up, and was grinning the whole damn time, even as the (apparently improved?) MEDIUM AI was kicking my posterior. Nice note - you pause the game and the stage music keeps playing, making it easy to pick a stage and just check out the tunes. Artwork's great - VERY crisp, definite anime/manga feel to it, colors are extremely vivid. Gameplay feels tight; haven't played online yet, but I've played the original recently, and to an admittedly novice/intermediate player like myself, it feels the same if not better. After the somewhat disappointing beta, I really was a little surprised to see IGN give it a high score, then 1up.com. Now I know why; definitely deserves it. I've sorta been holding my breath for this day ever since the possibility first came up, and it's been REALLY stressful, but everything came together. I'm extraordinarily proud to have been part of this game, but even more proud to be part of this site. Now excuse me while I go have a personal moment.
  16. I'm downloading it right now. Won't get to play too much since I'll be busy w/ OCR, but I'll try and post a mini-review. Of course, I'm not biased AT ALL...
  17. We're probably gonna do 192Kbps... and I just wanna step in and manage expectations a bit: if you're looking for badass, full tracks, you won't find them here. What we'll be releasing will be the soundtrack as provided to Capcom, which means no stage theme goes over two minutes, they all have loop points, etc. If you download it expecting complete tracks ala OC ReMix, it probably won't make you too awful happy. If you download it expecting the OST from SSF2THDR, well... you'll fare a little better:) Either way, it's free, and in particular you'll get all Jose's ending themes and AE & Prozax's badass intro theme. If we get extended cuts from mixers, expect to see those posted here as full OC ReMixes.
