Remixer: TO Game: Gradius Song: grlev1.mid (That's what the midi was named, I dunno where it's from in the game.) ReMix URL: Original Midi: http://www.doulifee.com/prc/grlev1.mid Hey guys, I made this in a 2 hour competition between myself, Nuts, Suzu, Sadorf and Hadyn. I thought it sounded good enough to submit, so I tidied it up and here it is. I thought it sounded kind of slow and creepy so I kept with my run of Haunted pieces, the tempo is set at a rather lazy 85 bpm. I used rhodes, christmas layers (bells), strings, a Vivid Vibrato Synth, RMX beats (editted quite a bit of course.) A sample of Betruger laughing (I thought it fit in) and a metallic cry from Doom 3. Enjoy, ~TO

This is yet another mix in my line of cinematic compositions. This time I decided to mix the popular Halo theme, although I have admittedly little interest in the actual game. Yes, I know the original is quite cinematic to begin with, but I thought I would put my own little spin on it while staying true to the original Halo feel. My attempts have proven all to successful as people claim that my mix hardly deviates from the original at all, although a quick listen will show that I have integrated my own theme with the original and rearranged alot of the executions to make it all one smooth transition. On a side note, the end reprise is the Halo 2 theme.

ReMixer name: PriZm Real Name: Pascal Jette e-mail address: pascal.jette@gmail.com website: http://www.audiostreet.net/artist.aspx?artistid=11737 Name of game ReMixed: Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille Zur Macht Name of individual songs remixed: Beach of Nothingness, Song of Nephilim, Inner Space Game composer : Yasunori Mitsuda Game platform : Playstation 2 Game type: Space Opera RPG Source song: http://www.squaresound.com/midis/xenosaga/chrisheit_beachnothingness.mid ReMix location: My own comments: I was surprised to see that there were no Xenosaga ReMix on this site, as many of us are Mitsuda fans. Perhaps it is because, as Mythril Nazgul said, the originals are so daunting in quality. So I have made a ReMix of this game (which is my favorite, and I know Xenogears fans will flame me for saying this). It starts with an introduction inspired by a Symphony X song, The Divine Wings of Tragedy and is in 7/8 so it's cool. The four notes played on piano and then horns are the actual melody of the Song of Nephilim with a modified and simplified rhythm (sorry I couldn't find it anywhere on the net). Then the song is driven into a more ambiant atmosphere, with guitar delay similar to Dream Theater's Lifting Shadows Off a Dream and real soprano vocals singing the Beach of Nothingness and Inner Sphere theme. The harmonies are from the source song, I basically added a bass line, interpretation notes (dives, tremolos) to the melody and drums over it. I break into a slower section and then make a solo over the theme again with a different groove reminiscent of Pink Floyd or Dream Theater's Goodnight Kiss. The theme this time is background and is played by piano and acoustic guitar. Then, with a key modulation (from Gminor to Aminor), I do the theme again with vocals doubled with guitars with the triplet groove from the intro spread over 4/4 instead of 7/8. Finally, to end the song, I have a progressive metal part (30 seconds of odd time signatures frenzy) that goes into a slow ambiant paddy thing with the piano playing the end of the source's melody and an unsettling oboe concluding the song on the third of it's key (actually the Song of Nephilim's melody). I'm sorry, but my host, Audiostreet screws up my ID3Tad, so I'll give you the information here. I realize this is a waste of time for both you and me, but before I can find a better host, I'll have to stick with out. Hey DJP and judges, Here's my latest remix. Title: Storm of Healing Orig. piece: Song of Storms and Song of Healing, Zelda OoT and Zelda MM. After posting it in the WIP thread i commented on his remix and he contacted me for some help. We started a simple collab at first. Pretty cool, VERY unique - djp hi djpretzel, i figured i couldn't do a better remix in the same style as my previous submission, 'to far away memories', so i decided to try a totally different style with this one. i tried an acoustic version of this ( with the same cheap-ass guitar ), but didn't like the result. though there are some sparse instrumentation, and sound effects here and there, most of the song is just my voice. it's got a bit of influence from 'radiohead', 'the black heart procession' and 'elliott smith'. the focus of the song is on max's grief. in a game where people are killed by the hundreds, i wanted to concentrate the emotion on the consequences of just a single gunshot. hence the name, 'tragedy of a bullet.' here's the info: remixer name: Neil Benjamin email: nobodygetshurt@nyc.rr.com website: http://www.s93850634.onlinehome.us/musicIndex.html game: Max Payne song remixed: Max Payne Theme remix name: Tragedy of a Bullet link: take care, -neil benjamin -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.0.308 / Virus Database: 266.7.1 - Release Date: 3/9/2005

-Contact Info- Remixer name : Strike911 Real name : Jason Koohi email : extreme74@hotmail.com my website: http://www.strike911.sanctuslegacy.com Remix can be downloaded at : You may need to right click save as to reach it. I know that downloading it through a forum post works. So yeah... if it comes down to it, Surf to "" and use the "Find" function in your web-browser for "21" and it'll lead you to the download. -Remix info- Game Remixed : Metal Gear (NES, 1987) Song Remixed : Jungle theme/Outside theme Comments: I always loved Metal Gear. I originally created this theme trying to emulate the style of the newer Metal Gear Solid games. This mix actually started as a trance remix, but in the end I realized that I didn't like the trance parts and the strings were sounding really cool. So I kept the strings and started adding more and more instruments that you'd find in an orchestra. By the time I submitted a WIP, I had actually removed all the trance/dance music elements except for the heavy beat (though the tempo has been slowed down quite a bit.) So... yeah, here it is: "Solid Snake: 21st Century Soldier." I've tried a few times to get a ReMix in and hopefully this one appeals to the judges.

DS Edit: because of the odd chromatics, lets get some other judges to weigh in. 6Y/N please within the week please, otherwise we convert to YES. Whats up fellas, Contact Info Remixer Name- Blue Magic Real Name- Damon Campbell E-mail address- Randy550@msn.com I don't know my User ID The song can be found on my page here: http://www.angelfire.com/blues2/bluemagic/ ReMix Info Game Remixed- Dark Cloud Individual song remixed- Moon Sea Original Composer- Tomohito Nishiura Copyright- Sony, 2001 System- PS2 Comments This is a little something I've been working on for the past week or so. It is a relaxing remix of the "Moon Sea" theme from Dark Cloud. I noticed that Dark Cloud doesn't get much attention from remixers from OC nor VG Mix, so I thought I would give it a try. The original song didn't really have much of a melody so I did my best to make up for it. Hope you like it.

Name: Digital Dreamscape Remixer: Arglebargle Game: Super Mario Land Composer: Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka I find the lack of Super Mario Land remixes very very disturbing, so I decided to re-arrange the ending theme, which is one of my favorite video game songs ever, regardless of platform. I apologize for the file not being properly tagged, but I've been trying access my webspace to upload it for the last 3 weeks, and today it finally worked. I don't trust my provider Web1000 enough to assume that the uploading process will work again for another couple weeks, so I had to strike while the iron was hot. If you accept the song I can send you a properly tagged version or whatever.

Hello. This is Dj Orange with another submission. Remix: Final Fantasy V "Harvest Hoedown" Link: (If right-click-save-as doesn't work, just left-click on the link and you should be re-directed to the file) Some of the arrangement choices may need explaining, because this remix is kind of unorthodox (and cheesy). I've been studying up ELP, Triumvirat, King Crimson, Jeth Tull, and others for the past while and developing a taste for off-the-wall, gelatinous, lo-fi analogue synth that others unfortunately might not share. The bizarreness from 1:12 through 2:15 (a good chunk of this remix) is admittedly derivative of ELP's work, namely Tocatta on Brain Salad Surgery, but it's all of my own creation. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it despite the mediocre samples and stuff. Still waiting for the megasample fairy...

Game: Lagoon Remix Name: Tropic Lodge Lagoon Hey, it's TO. This was my PRCv2-6 winning entry. Remix of "Castle Theme" from the game "Lagoon." I'm not really sure what genre you'd put this under. It's sort of a piano/groove/ambient/whatever else style piece. I'll let you guys decide. Enjoy, ~TO
