Well It has been some time since I submitted a solo Remix, so here it is. Its a remix of Stage 3-2 From Ninja Gaiden 2. I've been wanting to remix this song ever since I started remixing a few years ago, and now I have mix that I'm pretty happy with. So yeah as Usual from me, I made a Trance Remix of this tune. Only that this time is not too much of a synth mesh. It has some touches of house and ethnic, with some parts that concentrate on the use of melodies using pianos, flutes, and some other stuff. My electronica stuff is here anyways, as it wouldn't be me without it. I decided that the original was a bit simple and tried to add more counter melodies to give it more depth and rhythmn, as well as new stuff to complement it, I think that at the end the result was a mix that flows very well between the genres. So yeah as always, Fruity loops 4 (Changing to reason or fls5 soon ) , my beloved 3xosc, tst404 and some other vsti's and Wav samples. Hope you like it. If the link doesn't works, please contact me via a PM or to this email and I'll provide you with the mix. P.D.: Thanks to sadorf for the help with the flute melodies. u rock!

(Note about the 'Year' field; I used '2005' guessing that there would be a delay before it was posted. If it does go online before 2004, go ahead and change that.) Little bit of info about the mix: --- The track is "Rainbow Road" from "Super Mario Kart", an already well-covered piece of music. Most of the inspiration for the mix was given to me from the original track itself - I decided to take the original, and expand on its ideas, by keeping the harmony mostly the same, but adding new rhythms, a different time signature (5/4, which is where it gets it's name 'pentagon'), some new sections (giving the track a longer, more song-based structure), and also gave it a bit of a drum'n bass feel with the percussion. The original had quite a modern jazz feel so I kept that in mind and chose instruments that I felt would be most associable with that, for instance, sax and rhodes, and introduced more electronic synth pads and arpeggiations. --- Remixer Display Name: B1itz Lunar Real Name: Dave Harris E-mail Address: daveharris.lunar@gmail.com ... and of course, I hope you enjoy it .

Finally getting around to submitting this...should have done it a loooong time ago, really, but after the cool reception to my first one I decided it wasn't worthy, which was stupid of me, since this is one of my favorite arrangements out of anything I've done, and "Sweeter Than Honey" was one of my least. SO...this is ReMixer Will Buck, submitting "The Dark Before the Dawn," my orchestral rendition of "At the Bottom of Night" from Chrono Trigger. Enjoy, I hope!

Yo DJP and crew! Another mix from the bro's at DigiE. Remixers: Digital Element (Or DigiE for short) [*Previously Section III Studios*] Title of ReMix: "Go Deeper" Original Song information: "So Deep" by silvertear (perfect sphere mix), from DDRMAX: Dance Dance Revolution 6th Mix. The game was made by Konami in 2001. I dont have a link to the original, however I do have it on my harddisk somewhere. I can upload it if any of you haven't heard/have the song. Link To Mix: Personally, we love this song so it was only natural we decided to remix it and try to bring it out to it's fullest Dance potential. I hope we pulled it off... Was made in FL Studio. It may start off a little slow, but trust me, it only gets better! We tried our best to rid any repetivity out of the song with continuous new stuff and breaks, so I hope that you like that aspect of the song. Enjoy!

Yo djpretzel, I am a returning remixer named BogusRed. This is my own piano arrangement of "Overworld-Main Theme" from Final Fantasy 7. I've delt with the sound font issue that the judges were complaining about with my earlier remixes. I think this is one of my best recordings yet. Here's the file: Thx -BogusRed aka Susie

OCR01305 - Super Metroid "Dirty Sam"
djpretzel replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Uh, this seems pretty simple. If you wanna say the mix is repetitive, just say it - hell, the ReMixer himself agrees, to some extent. If you wanna go further and argue that there's structural problems, or anything else, that's cool too. If you wanna say "I never would have passed this," that's fine too. It's only problematic when you go further and say that the mix's approval represents fundamental problems with the panel or conclusively illustrates some sort of bias. Not only is that hard to prove - or disprove - it's also not directly related to what YOU think about THIS mix. This isn't too much to ask, and usually it's not a problem. Take out three or four words from Ari's original post, for example, and the rest of it is fine by me, although I might personally disagree with it. Some of the responses to this very brief diss to the panel may have been overreactions, but seeing as the catalyst was easy to avoid, it's more productive to simply make your reviews about the piece, not the people who judged or posted it, and leave it at that. Then you won't be "attacked" and the galaxy will be at peace. For my money, I agree with many, including the ReMixer, that the piece is at times repetitious. I think Binnie's point about the last two minutes is fairly accurate. However, I feel there are other aspects that compensate enough for this. -
What did you think? Post your opinion of this ReMix.

Great to see game composers themselves chiming in on ReMixes, especially when they're correcting inaccurate information - thanks for the update and for making some kickass music: I've played the Unreal and UT series extensively and loved everything I've heard, as have many I've spoken with. I've added Andreas' name to the credits list for the game and will fix the write-up as well.

Email sub file Goldeneye Archives Blaze OC ReMix.mp3 - djp ReMixer Name - RoeTaKa Real Name - Alex Roe Email - roea14@yahoo.co.uk Website - http://www.angelfire.com/zine2/roetaka/index.html OC ID - OCR17699 Game ReMixed - Goldeneye 007 Song ReMixed - Archives Comments - My first mix was instantly rejected, it was a shenmue song that had a place for me but not OC, so I've been doing alot of remixes since then and yet haven't submitted any of them. I thought I'd submit this being actually pleased with it and not having any idea more of what to do with it. It has a industrial/D'n'B percussive feel with overdrive bass, use of padding and strings, piano and some choir. The way I've used them you could say was actually cheesy, but I find James Bond to be cheesy so maybe that all works out. Nothing more to say really other than try and be gentle? Hah. Oh also I want to thank zircon for the input and help he gave me, it worked out best in the end I'd say.

email sub file Sonic_the_Hedgehog_3_Emerald_Fiesta_OC_Remix.MP3 - djp Hello! Well, I'm back with a brand new remix. It's the second time I send something to O.C. After my remix for the Ice Cap Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog 3), I've chosen the theme from the Special Stage in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (again), for all gamers who want to feel nostalgic and remember the times when we were chasing the Chaos Emeralds... endlessly. This time, the Special Stage theme goes way high with a latin dance beat to boost the good mood of everyone still playing the games. A bit of Pablo Flores influences and the long horns sometimes bring up an old school music element. Hope you like to hear it, because I had a great time making it! Here are the details I was asked in the site: Remixer: SkyHigh Name: Marco Batista e-mail address: skyhigh1979@hotmail.com Game: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Song: Theme from Special Stage Remix: Emerald Fiesta OC Remix See ya, everyone! Name: Gramage (aka Graham Mawhinney) email: iGramage@rogers.com URL: Don't have a website. USERID: I registered on the boards, but am awaiting the confirmation email. I hope me submitting without activiating an account on the forums is kosher... Game: Final Fantasy VI Song(s): Battle Theme Comments: This is my first ReMix of any game music. I decided to do the Final Fantasy VI battle theme because I really like it, and me and my friend Will spent 15 minutes figuring out the notes (we didn't look it up or anything, I promise). I'm usually torn between trying to make a song that's very peacful and relaxing, and making a song that's hard, fast, and driving. So I said what the hell why not make one that's both? This is the result. If I had to pick a genre it'd definately be techno, allthough the intro is more classical/orchestral. The whole thing was made in Apple's GarageBand on a 1.25ghz 17" G4 iMac, exept for two reverbs, a cross-mix, and repairs to the ending, which were done in Sound Studio. It's definately not a boundry-pushing work of creative genius, but I like it. Not really of the calibre you guys are used to, but meh... I'd like to have added more of my own melodies and whatnot, rather than just a multitude of variations on the original, but I don't have the skillz or the talent yet (I've only been messing around with making music for about 3 months).

ReMixer name: HartZa real name: Harri Pellikka email address: harri_pellikka@hotmail.com userid: 22001 Name of game(s) ReMixed: Megaman 2 Name of individual song(s) ReMixed: Woodman Stage Theme And, here's a story about this song: One day I wasn't in school because I was sick. In the endless boredom, I opened my computer, and came to OCRemix forums. I started to browse different forums, and from the ReQuest part, I found this thread: Megaman 2 Woodman. This little text reminded me suddenly of my metal composition of this song, which I made about 6 months ago. Without thinking it much, I plugged my guitar to computer, and... This is what I got. I really would like to thank some people here in OCRemix, since they've helped me a lot with their advices on how to mix this. Thank you/Arigatou!! Hopefully this is accepted, since I never got a single remix here. This would be my first one... And, there's no Woodman remixes yet, this would be first one on that line too! _________________________________________________________________ Don't just search. Find.
