Game ReMixed: Tetris. This is my second submission; my first is still pending . It started out as just a little russian ditty I had in my head, then snowballed into a huge elaborate war song, then I got all ADHD and was distracted by SOUND EFFECTS. Then it turned into Tetris near the end of its development. Figured I'd send it on in; I'm pretty happy with it overall. Yo, DJP, It's Less Ashamed Of Self here with my second attempt (I know it's been a while, I've been bitter about my first rejection, but I got over it. ^^) This is a remix of the somewhat demented and childish song 'Tenda Village' from the genius soundtrack to the SNES classic Earthbound.

OCR01251 - *YES* Terranigma 'Blue (Shooting Star Mix)'
djpretzel replied to djpretzel's topic in Judges Decisions
Please evaluate ONLY as an addition, such that the new and the old would still stand as separate mixes, on their own, in accordance with the new policy. -
*NO - NEW POLICY* Streets of Rage 2 'Infectious Oldskool'
djpretzel replied to djpretzel's topic in Judges Decisions
[12:36] <djp_semiaway> okay [12:36] <djp_semiaway> at least this small group seems to be in agreement [12:37] <djp_semiaway> no doubt Ari will be livid at not being consulted [12:37] <djp_semiaway> but I see the formation of a policy we can at least be CLEAR about: [12:37] <Digital_Coma> i'm sure he doesnt like the mix either [12:38] <djp_semiaway> rearrangements of your own mixes will only be entertained as additions, not replacements, and they must be substantively different AND improved in terms of both sound quality AND arrangement. I think we have a policy. Not everyone will agree with it, but we can at least be clear about it. People need to move on. We need to accept that there will be older mixes on the site that are not up to current standards; it's natural, it makes sense, and - unless the piece is a clear rip or standards violation - replacing them with updated versions is sortof like rewriting history. If people want to go back and cover the same song again, that's fine. If they want to use pieces or ideas from a mix they've already gotten posted, that's fine. But the new submission will only be entertained as an addition, not a replacement, and it has to be different enough to qualify under these heightened judging criteria. I know there are counterarguments, and fairly good ones. But there are counter-counter arguments as well. In general, I think we need to look forward and not backward. I believe that, evaluated as an addition and not a replacement, this mix should not be posted, under this policy. -

good enough for me.

Hi! Although I have a ton of music to contribute - original and re-arranged - I never rush it (can you tell?) However, I realized the other day that I have one of my favorite 're-arrangements' sitting on my computer for nobody but myself to hear. I don't have time to do a perfect mix (yet) as I am busy recording my latest album as well as a few other artists, however, I feel - I owe it to you guys to release it... as it is one of my favorite game tunes (from sonic 2) of all time (and one of my fav remixes of mine). My style is to re-record the main melodies (with great sounds and new drums and backgrounds and feel...I always do it from scratch) and then 'jam out' a bit and improv on it- I remember spending quite some time a year ago programming the drums and all the parts - attempting to create a "live band" feel - of what I feel is a masterpiece song in gaming history. Well, here it is in its last existing form for now. I can't wait to hear how many people hate it, as much as how many people love it. Enjoy, and keep it up - although I have tons of material to still release to you guys, overclocked rocks - thank you for maintaining it all this time. I hope you pass this on to other listeners. - Jay BTW - My latest original pop/rock/hop/'game-ish' CD with vocals will be released soon at JaysonLitrio.com. The site is not updated yet but will be soon with more info. Thanks again my friend... and a special gift: Jayson Litrio meets Mcvaffe.. first mix will surface soon to shock and mess with your fans! - Jay Get to know me! I have worked in the industry and can help! I feel I've always been cheated here, why - i don't know - but its been years now! Let me release tracks and help in any way I can! As for DJ Pretzel - McVaffe and myself - come visit us in NY for free - and let us shine and create MAGIC together! After all these years it's time to take a risk and do a few songs together. I have the studio and sounds, as well as McVaffe - and you have the skills too (DJ) - why not create some of the best tracks ever.. together? Stay at my place for a few days - just contact me! - Jay Thanks for letting me submit. But please, let this one go through ! ugh! There is so much crap on the site - I don't understand, to this day - why I of all people get passed up when i send stuff in! I'm a recording artist on a major label with a future - let me in! lol Is it the way i present myself? I have no ego, just love and fun! You guys all rock. - Jayson

email sub file Broken Wings.mp3 - djp djpretzel, Hi there. Remember me? Heh, it's been some time since I last connected here, but it doesn't mean I forgot. Just moving to LA and starting a new life is somewhat time consuming. Anyways, this is a Chrono Trigger Remix from the OSV Disc II - #6 (The Day the World Revived), but I call my version "Broken Wings". It's a sad song this time, with dramatic portions and epic scales throughout it. There are numerous vocals so a doc. file was also attached to this email (sorry about the big size =P) Take a listen. You'll see it's not the usual "DJ Crono/Dance Club/Hip Hop/Shout-my-name" stuff. Sooo, there you go, and I'll talk to you later okay? Thanks a lot. ~DJ Crono "Jovette Rivera"~

Contact Info Tranquil Chaos - Chad Hultgren chad@sfamedia.com - sfamedia.com Remix Info: Halo - Main Title Theme Comments: I always wanted to hear this song rocked out in a kind of tribal metal fashion. I went ahead and did that, but also added a mild techno flavor to the mix. __________________________________ -Chad http://sfamedia.com

email sub file prievert_LOM_Morphland.mp3 - djp Hi, so you weren't exactly awestruck by "ff11 memory Accurange"? Can't imagine why... BTW did you recieve my Xenosaga-Pain-Remix? I sent it 2 weeks ago but didn't get an automated reply... ... Attached to this mail is a remix of Yoko Shimomuras title theme to Squaresofts "Legend of Mana". (I won't post a link to the original here... I don't want to encourage all that illegal download stuff..., but you probably know what it sounds like anyway) Most of this Remix is rather loosely based on the original; I transformed the intro melody into an arpeggio, layering it with selfmade melodies... Only the first break part stays close to the original, the rest is more or less "inspired by" (The chord sequence in part 2 is very loosely based on Yuzo Koshiros Bison-Remix from the Street Fighter Tribute Album, and in the very end there are some melodic references to Xenosaga.) Just in case the ID3 Tag got crapped in the transfer process... Legend of Mana- Morphland OV c 1999: Yoko Shimomura/Square RMX c 2004: Best Regards, Alexander Prievert PS: Next Submission: a "real" remix of the FF11 Title Theme... I'm not going to give this one up just yet... ..

Hiya, Forgot to submit this one, there you go. It's from NES's Tombs and Treasures by Miyamo Shant. -- Eric E. Hache (EgM) http://gamemusic.ca

This remix is a dramatic departure from my first submission because Secret of Evermore, unlike guardian legend, is not about a half-humanoid, half-spaceship creature who is destined to battle fish, jumping mushrooms and false teeth in order to stop a star from crashing into the earth. Secret of Evermore is much more serious [except for the occasional attempt at humor] I also have a TREMENDOUS amount of respect for Jeremy Soule. This is a medley of two songs "Halls of Collosia II" and "Ivor Tower Town" with a brief quote from "flying". It's all live piano. Enjoy!
