  1. huh weird spell check didn't correct me maybe it thought i meant the sound, oh well live and learn
  2. yeah that is definitely turned me off in fighting games online recently. I don't mind if someone is cheap or way better at the game than me but they don't have to be a "dick" about it. Me and this friend of mine, we used to play Soul Calibur 4 quite a bit and in all honesty he was better than on a lot of levels,I might eek out a win every once in a while, but for the most part he beat me, did I ever get upset.. no. We both just enjoyed the fun of the game, we never got all egotistical he knew he was better than me but he never rubbed my face in it. I feel that most people online play that way too. but when it comes to people with that "pro" mentality they are just a bunch of fucking assholes. you can play to win sure, its competitive, its that very nature of the game. but some people let that go to their heads and they become dicks.
  3. ok you want link i got links, I played castle crashers when it first came out, love the game love the soundtrack. the thing about the soundtrack is not everything was made originally for the game. so here we go intro music aka four brave champions was originally made for the game castle crashers menu loop(no other title) was originally made for the game castle crashers barracks tune(no other title) was originally made for the game barbarian boss among others aka factory not originally made for the game forest entrance aka jumper my personal favorite track of the game, not originally made for the game, I have since become a fan of waterflames other works forest level aka space pirates not originally made for the game abandoned mill chase aka techock not originally made for the game tall grass field aka rage of the champions can't determine origin not available on newgrounds caves aka landfall was not originally made for the game cyclops stronghold aka vain star not originally made for the game ninja pirates aka chaoz japan not originally made for the game, and was made by ParagonX9 who is also a remixer here as well. desert aka don't not originally made for the game. swamp aka swampland was originally made for the game snow world aka winterbliss was not originally made for the game painter boss aka the show was originally made for the game necromancer fight aka simple sight(instrumental) awesome tune not originally made for the game store theme aka spanish waltz was originally made for the game vs battle aka archetype not originally made for the game final boss battle aka second thoughts not originally made for the game tricky's song originally made for the game, but in fact is a cover of an old sailors song Ok so that all I got I know I missed flowery field I could not find it on either youtube or newgrounds so tough luck on that one. I personally would like to do jumper myself but I'm very midi dependent with my remixes so maybe someone else could do it.
  4. I don't claim to be an expert on trance/dance music. But there was frequency and its sequel amplitude.(from the makers of rock band) i never really played amplitude (from the demo i played of it it seemed like more mainstream rock and pop) I loved frequency it seemed to have more of a electronic dance(not that much trance though) I also like that you don't have to buy an 80 dollar peripheral with it either. I've only played guitar hero a couple of times when a friend brings it over and I'm actually better with a conventional controller than I am with the guitar. what was cool to it has a remix mode too(which is pretty cool) kind of an unknown game in the music game genre i guess i suppose it was a little before its time on a side note Activision is working on a game called DJ hero
  5. do you mean soul blade or soul edge in the arcades? I haven't played soul edge but i have played soul blade which is fun but kinda aged feeling now, kind of like tekken 1.
  6. hmm kinda surprised nobody's posted in this. I love this game, I play on xbox live though. gamertag is Geeky Stoner I've loved the Soul Calibur series since 2 (probably still my fav) haven't played 1 on the dreamcast yet. This is like my favorite fighting series where's the soul cali love at.
  7. oooOOoohh Japanese sub-zero?I just might have to get this game
  8. 237 according to my gamespot profile I lent out my DS and all my games though so that would be minus 6 so 231 i guess.
  9. its a tough call for me. I'm kinda on both sides of the fence here on one hand i can see the fun in cheating also the need for it if your stuck(however strategy guides can be used for sort of the same thing) also there is plenty for free online these days. but on the other hand I am a hardcore gamer so I really don't like to bring myself to cheat to get through a game, I just feel shallow afterwards (i also don't like skipping though movies or books, there might be something important or interesting in the parts you skim over)i have cheated a couple times to get through games (i cheated to get through the mine cart sequence in half-life1 i think I missed some important plot points too and i still kick myself to this day because of it)and the very end of gta3 i didn't really need to i just got tempted. personally i prefer to cheat after i have finished a game. i feel that I've seen everything there is to see in this game and now i can just have some good old fashioned plain fun. also i love achievements i don't really care so much about them as bragging rights they just give me something to shoot for in a game. Also they give you some extended play with a game because for me i can beat a game in a week and i would just be done with it,but with those achievements lingering around they give me a reason to go back and play some more. and yea cheating in multiplayer i just low down dirty bullcrap. I wont even get into the whole competitive gaming subculture right now, which is something I'm truly disgusted with right now.
  10. also i would say more rewarding as well. i love masochistic difficulty in games i feel that when a game really challenges your skills. that finishing it can be a very rewarding experience you feel like you've gotten alot better and really get a feeling of accomplishment after beating something like that. thats my view anyway.
  11. yes i would have to agree old games are pretty difficult. the reason is you weren't able to save in games back then. games were made harder so they could hold a persons interest. it would be pretty boring if you were able to beat a game in 4 hours playing it for the first time. also the amount of content in a game was pretty limited back then, nowadays the sky is the limit. i still have yet to beat the first sonic the hedgehog.
  12. there is a sequel to dark could if you don't know
  13. ah but the thing about that thread is that it only addresses JRPGs there some pretty good role playin across the over across the other side of the pond too. such as.. elder scrolls oblivion, Mass effect (from the makers of KOTOR great rpg also) Fable and Fable 2( haven't play the second one, the first was fun shallow and short but fun) jade empire(never played myself but got pretty decent reviews) when it comes to the ps2 era all i can think of is the very unknown summoner series(i really like the fist one personally i thought it had a neat battle system and a fair amount of rpg meat to it too, i'm probably alone in liking this game and time has not aged it well by any means an obscure gem in my book but don't expect the best)the second one was ok the combat system was way better but a little short. also baldurs gate dark alliance and DA2 and champions of norrath and its sequel both are very fun and shallow hack and slash rpg romps but kinda short though. that's all i can think of when it come's to western RPGs on consoles.
  14. To me hardcore gaming is really diving deeply into any game 'street fighter/halo/star craft not necessarily in any sort of competitive or pushing the limits of your skill kind of way but just exploring as much as you can as possible about the game. I grew up playing the snes ,and I've always been a twitch fan. I'm pretty sure the first game I played was mortal kombat on the snes. i really love shoot em ups gradius 3 would have to be my favorite that ive played so far. i still have every console and handheld(except ds(for now)from snes to xbox 360. i still kinda catalog my collection on Gamespot (i don't keep up with it much anymore i kinda faded from this site when some of the staff left)
  15. this one is pretty experimental I went a little crazy with the pipe sound and created some pretty "weird" riffs with it. I'm not to sure what to make of this really. comments?
  16. for me personally breaking down every little tiny detail of a fighting game takes away the fun of playing it.Don't get me wrong here not saying that it's not fun learning and getting better at the game,it is fun yes but breaking it down to an exact science where your just invincible is an fruitless pursuit to me.Now i would say I'm a hardcore gamer but the goal of becoming very good at a vidoegame shouldn't ruin the FUN of it.I'm sure it doesn't for most people but some people gets really stressed out over losing a bunch of matches in ranked that because some of the people who play ranked really don't care about fun they care about winning that's all that matters to them. The cardinal Rule of videogame design to me is ,It must be fun.So when complaining about little details like chip damage and move priorities the game loses purpose for me which ultimately is to have fun.
  17. Ok forget everything you remember about the previous versions of this song. (well maybe not everything) completely rethought this song out. so I got the hold of the pipe sound from super mario bros and turned it into a sample in fruity loops and i turned that into the new intro started playing with it and once it slowed down enough i started to hear a beat and after some pretty good fun with fruity loops i came up with a rhythm loop,So what started out as the intro ended up throughout the entire song.It sounded pretty cool to my ears.
  18. well the people who are still on are really good so there is a difficult learning curve online. not as many as when the game first came out though. if you can get a friend to play it can be fun doing AI missions.
  19. actually falling asleep in an online lobby. i youst to play chromehounds way too much back in the day. and i fell asleep a couple times in the main lobby. I remember my friends yelling in my ear to wake me up.lol
  20. It is a good way to get around you just have to be careful you can set yourself up for something nasty if your in the wrong spot,it can be a great air move too especially if they also jump 90% of the time it will contact them in midair.I'm much more of a Shoryuken Whore when it comes to shotos i almost never use hadoukens.I tend to use the ground hurricane kick often especially since it can go through projectiles.
  21. ok new version hot off the hard drive. still pretty minimal mostly refinement. anyway I'm too tired to go into detail right now so I'll just let it speak for itself. the title Underground groove is starting to grow on me a little (still looking for title suggestions though)
  22. actually owning a copy of Fighter Maker 2
  23. In fact you are completely wrong about this sir.. It is....(i know this so well probably cause i use dpad and charge characters are awesome with dpads) Down Back(charge)to Forward Down to Back Down to Forward Up(no 180 motions just straight) then Kick for me its gotten quite easy on the dpad (and yes Vega's is the same)
  24. Mine would be closer to 20,000
  25. Ive faced a couple sagats online one actually ended up a tie i manage to beat most of the sagats online though there only been one or two that could really decimate my E.Honda(whom the more and more i play with seems like the strongest char to me in the game. i rather think abels super is really overpowered the last throw always does too much damage(but then again i think most throw based characters are really overpowering) especially Zangief I mean one of his fucking piledrivers takes out at least takes out a fourth of your health, its just too much. when it comes to sagat's super i agree its too much damage. i like dan too he's a riot and i think may have the fastest(although the weakest shoryukens) kinda getting into sakura too her exs are fucking WAY overpowered but her super is SUPER weak .
