  1. Oh my god, yes, I am totally getting the Morse funk vibe out of this ReMix (and the opening bit of the intro reminded me of the opening bit of the intro of Another Part of Me too). I'm enjoying the synthy retro take on the Museum stage here, and it feels like it fits right in with the Mega Man world, especially with some of it's later tracks. This is quite the debut mixpost, RoBTKA. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing you on the front page more often. Damn good ReMix.
  2. Feel the burn, Cinder is coming!

  3. Site looks pretty slick. Just a matter of getting used to all the new features and the look. This is fantastic.
  4. The ReMix really does pick up after the first minute and keeps hitting it's groove for the rest of the mix. For a rocking ReMix that gets better and better with each second that goes on, this is definitely one that needs to be heard all the way through to get the full experience from. Great mixpost.
  5. Piano lead in with ambient trance beats is an awesome way to lead-in with a mix like this. Funny how you still were able to keep in some of the mysterious vibe from the original source even though you weren't sure of Decapre's character, which is a testament to the source itself and your choice for the genre of ReMixing it. This is an awesome take on her theme and a sweet addition to another great Apex album. Keep it up, Neblix, you're really ripping it up, man.
  6. Besaid had an extremely peaceful and gorgeous theme that matched it's location, so taking that source and adding a watery, percussive feel to it makes it even better. Synths were well done, and the percussion gave this otherwise calm track some life and energy. Solid as hell Emunator.
  7. For a chill song with a nice beat to it, this is hella relaxing and nice to just kick back and listen to. I'll agree with the judges on some of the production picks they had, but honestly, those few things aside, this is a wonderfully chill track that fits a dreamy or icy vibe perfectly. Nice work, dude.
  8. Dude, that drum work and staccato beats at times sound like they're straight out of SF3 or some other classic McVaffe ReMixes. He's always had a good knack for hitting those sweet drum beats. Not bad.
  9. This is pretty chill, man. The combined efforts of the drums, guitar and piano made this that much better. Very good work, fella.
  10. Sweet, it's almost like the "Unsealed" of Contra. Virt has always been a musical master, and it shows here with his ability to combine all those sources together in a nice package. Sounds good for it's age as well. Nice one.
  11. Not going to say that I don't like this, but this didn't do as much for me as I would have liked. Basic and simple electronic with a couple of effects that just didn't gel with me. There is a decent foundation, but in the end, I can't really say that I'm a fan of this one.
  12. Wow, this has a gorgeous soundscape gliding all over it and the title is fitting, as it's got an inspirational feel to it. It's one of those mixes that you can chill to, and for something from back in the early OCR years, this is pretty damn good. Nice.
  13. While I do have to agree with the judges that the vocals seem to get backgrounded behind the music quite a bit, that's about the only thing that bothers me, so it's no big deal. Lots of emotion behind the voice work and of course the guitar and percussion is well done. The panning was cool and overall I enjoyed this ReMix. Keep it up, Cyril.
  14. Impressive work from all of you! It's cool to see the performance in the video, and I love how they were able to go from Jenova to Birth of a God and back so seamlessly. Excellent arrangement with lots of groove indeed!
  15. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars is one of my favorite games, and Culex was the secret optional boss that was tougher than the actual final boss, which I enjoyed fighting. I took the name and varied it so that it could be both a homage to him and a combination of "Cruel" and "X" (for Mega Man X, my other favorite game at the time). One of those old names that stuck through the years. So, basically just Cruel X mashed up as a tribute to both Mega Man X and Culex.
  16. Ah, man, so smooth! With a jazzy piano piece like this, it's going to be hard to keep people from sliding all over the floor. I'm liking the uses of the vibraphone, which was amazing and perfect for this arrangement, as well the guitar and bass. Slick as hell, Nostalvania, I love this.
  17. Sometimes the best rock is straightforward guitar dominated rock with a fun melody. Great work on this arrangement, with sweet production to boot. Well done Ivan.
  18. I love this duo of Hylian Lemon and Phonetic Hero. The mix of great beats and chiptunes abound over a blend of different Mega Man themes makes for a good listening experience here. Compos bring out a great range of talent and tunes, so it's nice to see another one make it to the front page.
  19. Now this is a ReMix that takes the original intended emotion of a source and brings it to life. Being the sorrow theme for this RPG, starting it off with piano and sending it through the full orchestral course, and even giving it an epic, dramatic edge is awesome. The ending was nice as well, as a soft outro to an otherwise powerhouse of a track. Damn good debut, Yee.
  20. No reviews yet? Well, then let me be the one to get it started in here. This a great little jam that uses crunchy instruments, guitars and a good low-fi rhythm beat to make something nice. For an album that has shown to already have great songs on it, this is a welcomed addition to that list. Great track, man.
  21. After the shenanigans of the first of the month, I was actually hoping to dive into some more electronic mixes on the site. Awesome to see a dance ReMix with both FF4 and FF13 pop up just when I was in the mood for it. Sweet mix, Avaris.
  22. This is almost what it would be like if there was a hell version of an Aquatic Ambiance level. Just a rough, gritty water level that pushes the boundaries of fairness. While I agree with some of the booming being a bit too forward, it is a great example of giving a normally peaceful theme a darker edge, and I can totally roll with that. Interestingly, this really, really, really, makes me want to see what would happen if you took on Lockjaw's Saga in this style, where booming percussion and dark undertones prevail to begin with. In any event, good ReMix, man.
  23. This is a cool take on a theme that already seemed like a happy break from the hell you go through in the previous zone, and taking it one step further. Nice to hear the little cameos from green hill zone show up and all together, this sounds awesome. Good work, Rexy.
  24. I'm such a huge fan of Emunator's combinations of ambiance and house to make atmospheric ReMixes with a pulse and a beat. This is the kind of chill that I can relax with and enjoy. Just the right amount of energy for me. Solid work by Ergosonic for his guitar play as well. Excellent collab, guys. This is great.
  25. Hot damn, this is just magical! Jill's beautiful vocals once again show off raw talent and a range that is so much fun to hear, and I'm loving the video along with it. I like the idea of this being sung by Zelda in Hylian, which gives it a sense of life. I'd definitely look forward to seeing this performance live, especially with the orchestral arrangement behind it all making it that much better. Fantastic ReMix all around, loved it.
