Songs for the Cure '11 released (Reiki Too!)
luhny replied to Josh Whelchel's topic in General Discussion
Just purchased my physical copies of Remedy and Esuna. While I wait for them to be shipped I enjoy the immediate downloads available for the albums. Want to take a second to say how awesome I find projects like these. Great music for a good cause for very fair ammounts of money. Thumbs up to Josh and all of you who contribute, organize and run this thing year after year. Maybe I will feel confident enough to contribute myself in the future. -
I am sorry, I haven't got the email.

OCR02214 - Rad Racer II "Fire in the TIres"
luhny replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Rad Racer II, eh? I am sitting here with a huge smile on my face. Good memories, good times. And a hell of a remix for Gum Ball Crash - probably one of the most memorable tunes. You did it again, Stevo. Kudos. Now if you would excuse me, I need to bang my head a bit -

OCR02202 - Tetris "The Peddler's Legacy"
luhny replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I think it is an artform itself to make a remix to a video game tune that has practically "seen it all" and even so make it stand out or at least interesting enough to listen to. I cannot count how many tetris remixes I have heard so far, but this particular one catches my interest with excellent instrumentation. All the counter melodies and little enhancements give this original russian folk song a depth that I have not heard before. And while there is so much going on in the remix to pay attention to, it still stays honest to itself and the original composition. Kudos, thumbs up and thanks alot for sharing this. -
OCR02207 - Final Fantasy V "Dragon Wings"

I am no expert in orchestration, but I enjoy classical music as much as anyone who rotates their Beethoven and Händel CDs once in a while. So I am very proud and happy to say that your remix gave me major goosebumps. And finally at 1:29 I had a tear in my eye. I might be a sensitive wuss in this regard, but I honestly have to say this thing is exceptionally beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing this great piece of music with us, good sir. I hope we will see much more from you in the future. -
OCR02212 - Final Fantasy VI "Forever, Young Rachel"

I would prefer the vocals to be a bit more wet, they sound pretty dry to me - which is no mistake or fault, I am just talking about preferences here. Sure enough there are a few instances where the vocals are not 100 percent on note, but this takes nothing away from a good listening experience. This is a great interpretation of an amazing source tune and shows us crystal clear what a personal note on a remix is all about. Thumbs up (and kudos for the SFTC project as well, of course)! -

Even if this is just a fingertip of people making these posts... the fact that such posts exist alone is enough to give up on humanity. I don't know... I fancy the approach of creating my own opinion instead of letting common propaganda hatred dictate what I have to think. Those people featured in the screenshot might try it out: it is an outstanding experience to stand with your own opinion. I fail to understand how anyone can be happy about a disaster of any kind. You might not be concerned/interested, that is your free choice. But beeing an ass about a huge tragedy is so low. You are the same as people who still believe that Hitler was a good guy and the genocide never happened. Just the same. As for all people on this planet (no matter what nation, race, sexual preferences, etc.) who are able to discuss a disaster like this in an appropriate and friendly manner: Thanks for existing, because you are the people that prove there might be a slight chance we are not going to hell altogether on judgement day...
