  1. Sweet. Well, it's up. Hopefully with the holiday craziness behind I won't be too distracted from future endeavors. Lol
  2. I don't think that song is related to Kirby. Not sure what that is supposed to be. Even if it IS Butter Building, it is a very loose arrangement and not really befitting of the comp in my opinion. Hate the fact I wasn't able to turn in my bonus entry, but in the spirit of Christmas (and guilt) here is what little I had for BB:
  3. With the Compo link down and me not having access to my laptop right now, not going to get my bonus mix in. Hopefully everyone is able to get their track started turned in with no issues.
  4. Turns out I won't be able to knock out a bonus entry. Been out most all day and don't have the time to finish up my track... Looking forward to listening to all of your tracks!
  5. I'll send the most current version of all my tracks this weekend.
  6. Going to try to knock out my bonus entry this weekend. Been a crazy week and a half and haven't really had much time to work on any music.
  7. I always wondered if someone would attempt to mix more than three sources from differing game sources... I certainly have my answer now. Wow. This song is absolutely incredible. The song is so bright, poppy, and groovy. Can definitely say I'm really glad for Lemon's mistake. Great job!
  8. Didn't get the chance to say it sooner, but I'm excited to be on board the project! Thanks to the trio of directors for taking me on and looking forward to hearing all of the awesome tracks once this project comes to fruition. The Secret of Mana soundtrack is one of the all time bests, and these songs deserve the spotlight.
  9. Hahaha, this is so fun and quirky. I've quickly become a big fan of your stuff and enjoy seeing what you come up with lyrically for these songs. Did not know this song existed prior to this mix (such a weird concept). Did you overlay the original track with some extra percussion, or is that simply the EQ? Cannot tell from my laptop speakers at the moment.
  10. So, I listened to the track. First off, very, very well done! Only thing I want to mention, and maybe it's just my crappy earbuds, but the orchestra parts sound really... Shallow. I don't get the feeling of depth to the sounds right now (1:50-2:25 in particular comes to mind). The brass should sound lusher, and the drums carry a little more power. Right now everything sounds like it is on the same level. I'm sure this is something you're working on.
  11. @DS394 I'll listen to it again tonight and will give you some feedback.
  12. Thanks for the early feedback! Funny thing about the drums. I actually had more variations in earlier versions but stripped them down due to some issues, so I may sprinkle them back into the mix around the second repitition (which I wanted to change the melody there to make it a tad more unique anyways.) Also, @M_Blacki it's not just you, the drum kick is a little weak. that's already on my list of next wave of revisions.
  13. Fine by me! I'm still playing around with some sound ideas at the moment. Whipped up something last night, but it's a little gritty, and I'm not sure that is what I'm going for. Lol
  14. Well I'm sure I can make room for some chiptune extravagance. Actually never heard of this until now. Looked a bit up on YouTube. It could work, in doses. Lol
  15. I'm open to collaborating on a boss track if anyone is interested. Boss B from Star Fox 64 might make for a fun trance remix track.
  16. Interesting challenge. I'll see what I can come up with for the bonus track.
  17. Good job Zorakh! Did you mean for me to pick the topic? I thought the winner gets to pick?
  18. Don't feel too bad, I BARELY made the deadline. Some reason I thought it was the 2nd as well. Frantically put mine together at the last minute. Lol
  19. Thanks! Your track is pretty cool too. I love what you and the others did for "Scramble." Loved every minute of that track. Well, I like what you did when you went from a slow pace to a faster place. Might be cool if you play to that and on the slower parts kind of create a chill, melodic, almost ambient environment, only to build back up into something high energy. Your soundscape would suit something like that. Just an idea.
  20. Whoop whoop. Look forward to listening to the tracks that are up!
  21. Personally, I prefer the ai-electronic version. Just briefly listening through, I can already hear a couple different ways you can take that track and improvise. Choose whichever you feel.
  22. Just briefly going through the song, with my laptop speakers: Production: The main synth you open up with sounds like too much resonance. Was a little jarring at first. The lead that kicks in at 0:36-0:49 is not separating itself from the background synth and percussions. Your synth is being overpowered, and on the cymbal crashes the lead sounds like it is being distorted. Same issue at 1:01-1:16 with the synth being drowned out. Feel like overall there is too much happening in the high frequency range and not enough elsewhere. Those background synths sound really sharp. My ears just may be sensitive. Arrangement: I'm not sure how far along to this WIP you are, but I feel like it's pretty by-the-numbers until 1:22. Play around with the fills some more and see if you can come up with some more cool twists on the melody. The ending was a little abrupt. Sorry if this isn't helpful enough. I've just briefly went through it and my Macbook speakers aren't always a good judge of sound (I need to get some production headphones). Doing a good job with this so far. Loving the energy you're bringing to the track!
  23. Actually, there have been a couple of Legend of Mana remixes I've run across over in the Workshop: You can see if either of those tracks interest you any. Both are really good takes on their source in two completely different styles. I've actually been in interested in doing To The Sea for some time. Haven't gotten a chance to start due to other projects I'm involved in and tracks I'm working on, but perhaps down the line whenever I get around to starting a project I'll give you a heads up.
  24. I appreciate your feedback! Believe it or not, in the absence of any feedback I actually played around with some settings and mimicked the sounds to the degree I was wanting. lol I'm still getting used to some of this since I'm still relatively wet-behind-the-ears (this thread was actually made the first week I started getting back into music), but I'm learning. I'll look into the Syntorial resource you provided. If nothing else I may find some other good, and cheaper, related courses.
