  1. Welcome aboard, Siolfor! Im open to collaborating on any of the remaining unclaimed tracks if anyone was interested in a track but unsure about making the plunge.
  2. Image-Line is doing a 50% off sale for their plugins from now until the end of the year: http://www.image-line.com/documents/news.php?entry_id=1479188076&title=sale-50%-off-all-plugins May use this opportunity to grab Harmor.
  3. I'm about to submit mine. Going to be more unpolished than I'd like it to be, but it's not terrible or anything. Pretty straightforward upgrade in instrumentation. EDIT: Song is up now.
  4. Oh wow, time has flown. I have something, but it's still a bit unpolished. I didn't realize the deadline was coming so soon. >_>
  5. What a way to make an entrance! I like this theme a lot. Reminds me of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. Arrangement wise the song is rather conservative, but the guitar work is really really cool. If I was riding out to war, I would definitely want this song on blast.
  6. Thanks a lot Rozovian! I really do appreciate your feedback. I understand where you're coming from with the drums. I've actually come to dislike what happened to my patterns listening to a couple of my older variations where the drum pattern was simpler but felt more effective because it drove the overall sound better. Think I ended up creating variety for the sake of variety, which is just me still learning through the arrangement process. I'll look into trying to lighten up on the use of the glitch effect and see about reworking the synth lead, or scrapping it entirely. Been busy with other projects lately, but I'll update whenever I get around to opening up my project file again. lol
  7. Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone. With my four-day weekend (I'm not used to so much free time) I'm going to work a bit more on my tracks.
  8. I listened to the track on Saturday and realized the song is much too fast for me to really pick out notes at my skill level right now. I messaged Rhino over the weekend, but didn't make any headway. :/ Hopefully one of ya'll are able to help her out.
  9. Sounds pretty sweet! I really enjoy what you're doing with this arrangement so far. 'Course it will probably be even better once the instrumentation is in place. lol
  10. Haven't really had a chance to the past couple of evenings, and tonight I was at a Bible study most of the night. I'll probably be working on more music stuff Friday, so I'll see what I can do around that time.
  11. Made good progress with my track last night. Was struggling with artist block and whipped out my keyboard and managed to improvise some patterns more in line with what I was wanting. What I'm struggling with right now, production wise, is making a good supersaw for my chord progressions. The problem I'm running into is I'm trying to get something like this or this, but my synths either sound too sharp like some sort of trance lead, or end up being too dull and lose their effect. I'm not sure where the balance lies, but I'm sure I'm going to feel real dumb once it is figured out. Not sure if it's messing with the harmonics or just really good EQ'ing. I'm getting closer, but I could use a hand if anyone has some experience with sawtooths. Other then that, Macbeth is coming along!
  12. I vote for HoboKa this round. Just listened to both of the tracks: The Lazy Future - I love the synth you chose for the beep fills (very technical term, I know), does a nice job capturing the "technology" feel. The strings do a nice job capturing the chill tone of the original track. I don't blame you for not trying to fiddle too much with the source. lol Gettin' High on Rails - Love the guitar work! You did very well in keeping the spirit of the Sonic Adventure series with its love of guitars and rock sound. Going to echo what HoboKa said: you did a great job with the drums.
  13. If someone hasn't already indicated they're working on a track, then it is likely you're going to be the only entry.
  14. I'll take a listen to the track at some point this week and see if I can figure out the scale and what not with my midi keyboard. I assume you're needing the scale?
  15. Thanks Timaeus for all your help before. I didn't respond at the time, but it did help me to create a similar sounding lead. I'm bumping this again because I've been trying to replicate some sounds but cannot seem to get it right. Basically I'm trying to replicate the synth strings and bright key/bell sound beginning around 0:57. I figure the strings are (I think) saw waves with multiple voices, but maybe someone has done something similar or has a better ear. The key I can tell has some heavy reverb, but I cannot seem to find a preset or sound that really matches the instrumentation in this song. If anyone has any advice or sample recommendations it would be much appreciated.
  16. Bonus track submitted! I noticed the midi has an incorrect hi-hat pattern for the beginning of the song, so I matched it to the original track. Also added some bass slides in the intro and chorus. Also also changed the instrument for the last pattern before the song loops again. So, some originality (sort of).
  17. Have majority of my bonus track done. Not going crazy with the arrangement because, honestly, I love the song as is and only want to bring the instrumentation more up-to-date. Trying to focus my attention more on productions this time around. I'll have it submitted by Saturday.
  18. Never can have enough Aquatic Ambiance! It's funny you mention Phil Collins, because a lot of DKC songs are very reminiscent of Genesis/Phil Collins. Onto your mix: the actual structure is pretty straightforward. Think you might have been able to introduce more unique patterns earlier into the song. The whistle effect that comes in at 0:46 is a little flat. Not sure if adding some reverb or a delay would help give it some more depth, but it might. The drum solo at 1:36 could probably benefit from hitting at different notes or mixing up the use of different types of toms. Don't think it captures the transition you're trying to achieve. 1:37 on is my favorite part. I love the acid synth arp in the background and when you start switching up the melody. The sound scape is really nice. You do a nice job using the synths, pads and beat to capture a darker atmosphere for AA. I really enjoy this track and look forward to hearing where you take this!
  19. WIsh I had something to contribute to a collaboration, but I will eagerly await to hear the coup de gras and can give feedback.
  20. Started up a project for Macbeth. Have an idea of where I want to go with this. Not expecting to hit the same kind of roll I did with Zoness, but we'll see. I'll play some more around with it this week and will get down to actually doing some leg work this weekend.
  21. This is such a cool, gritty sound. That bassline is soooo good.
  22. This is very relaxing. I envision playing in a green field with a bunch of Chocobo. I would definitely be interested in hearing you develop this. Would probably add this to my relaxation playlist when I need to vent. lol
  23. Hey Dave, If you're just trying to find people to remix a track, you should probably use the Remix Request board: http://ocremix.org/community/forum/6-remix-requests/ Otherwise I think you might want to try in the Recruit/Collaborate board: http://ocremix.org/community/forum/29-recruit-collaborate/
  24. Going to work on my Technology bonus track this week.
  25. Thanks! There's probably some more tweaks that I'll make to my track, but I kind of just hit a good stride and things just fell in place that way. Actually been solicited to work on a second track, so I'm going to kick around some ideas and see what I can come up with.
