  1. Source: Worked on a remix of the dungeon theme for a competition. Happy with how it came out, but I'm a little worried I may be stretching the melody of the original bassline a little too liberally. If it's not too far off the mark, I'll try and see if I can clean this up into something submittable for the panel. 2. Congrats everyone on some good mixes, and especially Chalis for winning this round! My apologies for not getting in my vote/feedback within the time period. I’ve been away on vacation since Thursday with a group of friends. Thanks to everyone who voted for my track, despite it being the least conservative of the group. Lol Had a lot of fun arranging the track, so I’ll probably kick it over to the WIP boards.
  3. Entry has been uploaded. Not very MnP-ey, but I had a lot of fun with it and couldn’t resist where it was going.
  4. I'd go ahead and take the plunge. My experience with 20 has been mostly bug-free, and I feel the workflow enhancements are worth the upgrade.
  5. Arrangement is pretty much done. Not as MnP-ey as it should be, but I'm still pleased with what has resulted. Working on the mixing right now, so I'll have my entry up by Tuesday.
  6. This Is the 20th anniversary of FL Studio. The number skip was intentional (albeit jarring).
  7. Image Line finally released FL Studio 20 today after a couple of weeks of kicking around release candidates. As an FL Studio and Mac user, I cannot begin to describe how happy I am for native Mac support!
  8. For the record, I have not forgotten about this project. Have about a minute and a half of some decent stuff. I'll try to clean it up and get it posted up here for some general thoughts/opinions over the weekend.
  9. Haven't worked on anything yet, but I can start up a project this weekend. Still tossing around whether to tackle Gnat Attack or the BGM 2 music.
  10. Definitely feel this thread on an intimate level. Have somewhere close to a dozen projects being cycled through on a weekly basis, and have only, maybe, completed one full track in that span. For me, taking a step away from a track and listening to other music and looking through online tutorials helps me approach my track with an extra level of inspiration. For instance: there's a Star Fox remix I've been working on for awhile. When I hit a massive creative block spanning a couple months, listening to some of DDRKirby's remixes and the Network Transmission soundtrack inspired me to completely upend the tea table on my project, start from scratch, and pump out a more polished composition. Taking a step away and finding creative sparks through other music and resources may help you with your own work. Mazedude's advice is also golden. In my own recent work those early 6am-7am hours have been some of the best times to push through a creative block and come up with some interesting compositional pieces.
  11. Might be down for this. Chillhop is a style I’m trying to transition into, and this might be a good opportunity for some practice. A Mario Paint mix sounds kind of appealing.
  12. As promised, have an update (really an overhaul) on my Macbeth track. I'll try to get something going for the Boss B track some time soon.
  13. Low-key been eyeing this round for awhile. Managed to get something out; not as fleshed out as I hoped, but still enough to submit.
  14. Blegh. Didn't get my bonus mix in due to Christmas party plans throughout the past week and a half. Listened to all the entries: you all did a great job with the tracks.
  15. Awesome job with this mix! Taking such a short track and extending it out to the 5 minute mark without the track becoming overly redundant is impressive. There isn't much I can give in the way of feedback except to say that the resonance of glass synth that drops in around the 5:05 feels rather high. Good luck with the judges panel. Look forward to seeing this on the homepage sometime in the near future.
  16. Excited to see this album released! From the tracks I've listened to so far, everyone has done a great job with one of the best RPG soundtracks of all time. Major kudos to everyone. Look forward to streaming the rest of the album.
  17. Ran into this issue as well trying to create a new account after locking myself out of my old one. Not sure what is going on.
  18. Looking forward to hearing what people come up with! I’ll go ahead and begin working on my bonus mix.
  19. Welcome! Even though it is technically an 80's drum pack, I've gotten a lot of mileage out of DataDrive's 80s Retro Futuristic Drum Pack. Some really great kick sounds in that pack: https://soundpacks.com/free-sound-packs/80s-retro-futuristic-drum-pack/
  20. Sorry I was not able to vote. Still locked out of my ThaSauce account, and I have no way of resetting my email since it's set to an old account I no longer have access to. Blegh. Sytrus and 3xOSC can take you a long way. Granted, I also use Serum, but those two synths alone are probably the majority of what I use. Once you get the hang of them you'll be golden. Look up some tutorials from DDRKirby(ISQ) on YouTube if you want to discover how versatile 3xOSC can be,
  21. Realized after export that the resonance on one of my leads was way too high. Not going to have a chance to fix it before the deadline. Also, I cannot log into ThaSauce, and password reset is not sending me any emails, so I sent my file directly to you, Bundeslang.
  22. Splice is now offering Ozone 8 as part of their rent-to-own package — I guess their experiment with Serum was successful? For a relative newbie, is Ozone a good investment versus sticking with the stock parametric EQ plug-ins that come with FL Studio?
  23. This source selection has me intrigued. I'll try to knock something out by the 15th.
