  1. Might as well edit the first post. Also, make sure you contact like 50 mixers and let them know that you want them on board. It will really help.
  2. Yeah, don't send it in until you have a bunch of people signed up and have a clear idea of what you're doing (Having lots of posted mixers helps too). If it gets accepted it will be moved to the projects subforum. I haven't played the games, so I can't really comment, but it sounds good. A solid theme is nice to have .
  3. Well there aren't really any guidelines for what needs to be included in an album or how the tracks need to be mixed. It's totally up to you and the artists, so if you want it to be solely medleys, then tell people that. If you want no medleys at all, let people know that too. If you want to see how other people are running their projects, take a look at http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=31725, http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=30903 and http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=35647. You'll see that the Paper Mario one is broken up into different "chapters" and requires mixes to be orchestral in some way, while the Zelda one requires mixers to mix together at least 2 tracks, and the Mana one leaves it more or less up to the artist. Honestly, just do whatever you think would suit the game(s) best Also, if you don't want techno, make sure you tell people that as well (Although you'd be missing out on some great talent, and OCR techno tends to be much higher quality than youtube techno).
  4. Definitely take a look at the project guidelines. That should give you most of the information you'll need. As for theme and content, you could either set strict guidelines (Specific genres, specific tracks), or you could leave it up to the artists who join. I would suggest not trying to take on too much at a time. Putting 3 games in one album generally isn't a good idea. It would probably be best if you stuck with the original game for now (you can always do sperate albums for the others after the first one is released). Hope this helps
  5. It's funny just how many "Hey! Listen!" samples there are in this album XD Some great tracks though
  6. Wow, I thought this was really lame for the first 43 seconds, but everything after that is pretty awesome Violin is great
  7. Yeah, it's looking like email isn't a great option...I assume djp has already contacted them with a dispute anyway. Good luck with the tweets!
  8. Same here. Anyone know the correct place to email them?
  9. Dude, check this compo. They made 10 remixes of that song 3 weeks ago Oh and welcome to OCR
  10. Yeah, me too...that americancensorship site has a button that says "I'm not in the US", but all it does is change the ZIP code to 20000, so I really don't know what good that will do. Thanks for those, I'd wanted to take a closer look at the bill itself, but I didn't know where to find it. I'm definitely going to take a look.
  11. This. I know there have been similar bills before that have been voted down, but it is still rather worrying each time a new one pops up. There is always a possibility that the current bill will be the one that goes through.
  12. I can't tell if you guys are being serious right now O_o
  13. Hey Amaterasu, I just came across some of your videos on youtube, and I was like "Hey, I know who that is!" :P

    Nice stuff :).

  14. http://americancensorship.org/ http://vimeo.com/31100268 Scary stuff...Looks like it can target sites like OCR as well.
  15. Okay...clearly there is some misinformation going around here. Peta is definitely not against keeping pets. Take a look at their page on companion animals. They are against things like puppy mills and animal abuse by owners, but not against keeping pets, in fact they encourage adopting cats and dogs so that they can have good safe homes. Obviously there's an issue if the pet owner is abusive, but they are quite happy with non abusive owners. Edit: Ah, I just got to the part in the Penn and Teller episode where they talk about this. Well guess what? They give no evidence to back up that statement. I guess things like that show are where so many people get false information about PETA. Edit 2: Wait a minute...Equating the animal rights movement to the abolition of slavery can only be equated to "Having gone to college"? What does that even mean?
  16. I agree, except that I do not think that PETA values animal life more than human life. On the same level for sure, but not more than.
  17. You may not see their side, but that doesn't mean that their views are not rational. The same argument you're making could be applied to pretty much anything. Abortion for instance.
  18. Lol, I'm just using the strings that came with my guitar...I should probably get those replaced sometime though.
  19. So why do you guys use the strings/picks you do? Do they make any specific differences? I'm a guitar noob, so I've kind of been wondering what the deal is with all the different string types.
  20. Nobody's mentioned Valkyrie Profile? It's probably the most emotional game I've played (I mean you spend the entire game watching people die, and some of the stories are really touching). It is really story heavy though. You have to be willing to sit through half hour cutscenes.
  21. Yeah man, the way you use silence is fantastic! And by next year, I really hope you mean 2012? Is December still good for a first draft?
  22. Haha, Well I have WIPs from most people but they haven't been posted on the forum...you should get on that guys!
