Wow, this is great! I'd say you've definitely got the 'epic film opening style' down So far I think it's a lot more interesting than the original and the dark feel is wonderful. I'm looking forward to hearing the whole thing!

First of all: this is beautiful. Fantastic playing and really enjoyable to listen to I have to agree with evory about the counter melodies though. Although you have 5 instruments playing, most of the time it feels like several less than that. I think adding in some counter-melodies might help make the track more interesting (I think most of it is perfectly fine actually, but specifically 0:56 to 1:57 could use a bit more flair). Overall though I think you did a great job!

Yeah I really hope you find someone too! The arrangement is fantastic, but it would sound amazing with that human element.

I didn't hear Darkness at all the first time I listened to this. I can hear it now, but it doesn't sounds like a sample...more like he just used some of the notes?

To be honest, I can really appreciate what people are saying here. The system seems really weak. What if a mixer hasn't contributed anything since 2003? Does that still give them credibility even though the site standards have changed considerably since then? Conversely, As Bonkers stated, there are some people who already have songs passed by the judges that just haven't been posted yet. Why not do something in between? Give posted mixers a direct claim and give everyone else a short period of time to get you their 50% WIP (A week or so)? Seems to me like that would fix most of the problems.

So how come when you're logged out the view reverts to regular forum view?

It's always been like that for me as well, but I never cared enough to change it and now I like it that way. Just wondering, is it the default view or did aphetica and I accidentally change it somehow?

Hey man, thanks. I know what you mean about losing the original's feeling, but I found it kind of unavoidable. The original is really slow and dark, but this piece kind of had to be a lot more upbeat. Good point. It can definitely be a problem. I'm pretty sure it'll work in this case since the vocals will be growls and not exactly following the melody, but I'll keep that in mind. Some of the lyrics are still in flux, so it's possible that I might re-write some of them.

Thanks for the feedback . It's interesting that you say that...do you think the whistle needs to be louder? It's possible that the part will stand out more when it's done live, but I don't know. Also, I probably should have made my plans for the vocals more clear. I was thinking (The whole song is along the lines of Eluveitie actually XD), so they wouldn't really be harmonizing.

Hey guys, This is a song I've been working on for the last couple of weeks. So far it's just a midi, but I think the arrangement is pretty much finished. Let me know what you think. I love this! I'm only familiar with one pendulum song, but this definitely reminds me of it. That main riff is so catchy!

I have to agree. OCR was really great this year. It was really only my second year as a part of the community, but I started to get to know people a little bit more, and I was able to listen to some great music/albums. I also feel like I have improved at making music as well, and hopefully this year I will be submitting a few mixes .

Hey guys, I've been wondering about this for a while and figured I might as well bring it up. Sometimes when I'm listening to an album I want to read the write ups for tracks that have been submitted to the site, however it can be difficult to figure out which tracks those are without going through all the remixes of a particular game. So...I was wondering if it would be possible to list all of the tracks that are on both the site and an album on the album's page? I think it would makes things a lot easier to find.
