    Cheers dude! Much appreciated!

I maintain that Lunar Rebellion is quite possibly the best piece of work I've done. It was heart wrenching to sit on it for so long, but I'm glad it's found an audience finally! Glad you enjoyed it

Cheers for the pick-me-up! I really feel like I went out on a limb with the arrangement, but I'm glad if people can still enjoy it. Bringing even the minor&forgotten tracks back to people's minds is, after all, part of what remixing is all about.

I really gotta have myself a marathon in the near future and listen through the whole thing.

So I've given the whole thing three full listens-through. There's definitely some good tracks on this album. I think the standouts for me are as follows:

All of Kate Covington's tracks are superb, as per her usual M.O. - I think You Don't Know Me is probably my favorite thing on here. Fixations, Lunar Rebellion, and Craic in the Castle Walls are all amazing, particularly as they showed off tracks I had no real expectations for due to their being tracks that weren't particularly favorites of mine in the game; Fixations in particular struck me strongly, as I had totally forgotten about the wedding music in the game. As Long as We Remember is an excellent rendering of Garnet's theme, and The Knight of Woeful Sorrow, Crystal Tempest, Doomed Lovers, Black Mage Master, and Filtering Through the Memories are all really great takes on some of my favorite parts of the OST.

There were some disappointments too, but I won't go into detail about them here. I do have a question though, and Mirby/Pipez' posts made me think of it: Is it my imagination, or did Eidolon Wall also get missed? Just for curiosity's sake; it's possible it got worked into a track and I just missed it.

Did I just miss it, or is there no arrangement of Rebirth of the Evil Mist on this?
I mean I hate that song solely because once you get to Disc 4 it replaces Crossing Those Hills forever and yeah, but still.

Thanks @DJP and everyone else who made our first big collaboration possible, I believe that it is awesome to see a massive tribute to one of the best video games ever made that is both a fest for the ears and for the eyes.

@OCR Album Project Founders, don't hesitate to contact me if you are looking for artists to create cover art and additional artworks like for this album, we are very open to those projects and glad to be a help.

OC ReMix Presents Final Fantasy IX: Worlds Apart!

    September 9, 2015
    Contact: press@ocremix.org

FAIRFAX, VA... OverClocked ReMix today released its 53rd arrangement album, Final Fantasy IX: Worlds Apart. The album pays tribute to Final Fantasy IX, released by Square in 2000 for the Sony PlayStation. Featuring 58 tracks from 57 artists, Worlds Apart is directed by OC ReMixer and BAFTA-winning Alien: Isolation sound team member Cain "Fishy" McCormack, and is available for free download at http://ff9.ocremix.org.

Worlds Apart includes a diverse roster of musicians honoring composer Nobuo Uematsu's largest soundtrack in the Final Fantasy series by arranging it in a number of styles, including folk, prog rock, gypsy jazz, bossa nova, acid jazz, pop, metal, EDM, chiptune, and more. Worlds Apart was made by fans, for fans, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Square Enix; all original compositions are copyright their respective owners.

"Twice in interviews, Mr. Uematsu has said that the Final Fantasy IX soundtrack is his favourite of the series. I definitely think it's the most cohesive effort in the series," observed director Cain McCormack, who also noted that many of Worlds Apart musicians' "joined OC ReMix just for this project because of how much they love FFIX. Spotlighting the game music you really love is what we're all about here, and I feel like that is particularly true with this album."

The album's cover artwork was designed by Kevin "TheGreyNinja" Merriman, whose work was most recently included in UDON's upcoming hardcover art book Capcom Fighting Tribute. Supplementing Merriman's cover artwork are 19 visual art pieces by contributors to video game art fan community Game-Art-HQ depicting Final Fantasy IX's major protagonists and villains.

Game-Art-HQ founder Reinhold Hoffmann oversaw the visual artwork effort, confident that Game-Art-HQ members could commemorate, in his words, "the masterpiece that is Final Fantasy IX and its rich cast of interesting characters." Hoffmann also anticipates future Game-Art-HQ team-ups with OC ReMix, adding, "This was our first collaboration with OCR, and we look forward to future collaborations to create beautiful tributes to our favourite video games that combine both music and visual art!"

Worlds Apart's release also coincides with the 20th anniversary of the original Sony PlayStation in North America, celebrating the Final Fantasy series' final PS1 entry.

Me too, dude. This is a massive deal for me.
I remember a lifetime ago coming across Kate's version of Beatrix's Rose Of May theme and being blown away, finding OCR through that, then eventually this project.
Now, several years later, I get to appear alongside Kate and a few of my other remix heroes (Dan Floyd especially - can't wait to see what you've done dude!).
I hope it's all as good as I want it to be

Turns out they accidentally remixed Final Fantasy XI instead of IX so they gotta shuffle really fast to make a FF IX album now

As a lurker/outsider, I would say that the vast majority of people who even know this forum exists know by now that projects come out on their own schedule.  The rest are likely younger kids who aren't going to be silenced anyways.

Honestly, I'm surprised at what (I agree with Brandon Strader) came across as being angry.  It's an open forum.  Asking about the release date is part of open discussion.  If you don't want conversation regarding hype/release/joviality/etc., then it might be best to make Projects a closed forum, open to the artists, project managers, and judges only.

I will say that my knowledge of such things are that the more "businesslike" a forum is, the less fun it is, which is completely against my impression of the OCR community.  The main reason I've been lurking the past decade or so is that while I appreciate the work going on here, I have not the musical ability to feel comfortable with carving out a place here for myself.

Lastly, I will say that for this project in particular, my impression is that folks are less concerned about "when is it coming out," than "IS it coming out."  I'm sure everyone would have to agree that 5 years is a fairly long development period, given that most of it was done years ago.  That's no a critique, I'm sure there are good reasons, but there will also be a natural amount of curiosity.  Curiosity isn't a bad thing, neither is hype for a release.  Since there has been significant movement in the last few months and the release is imminent, I would wager the posts here are more excitement than frustration.  And frustration of "when do I get my free stuff" should just be ignored.

That's all I have to say.  As I crawl back in my hole I just want to say good luck with the release, and I'm sure it'll be suitably epic.

All the consent signings are void because the statute of limitations ends after 5 years

As a result the album will be delayed for 2 more years
