  1. Haha, don't worry about it I'm totally new as well, after my exams I'm going to start recording/remixing things, hopefully it won't take us 10 years hehe But anyway, good luck, and if you do need me for anything let me know cause I love playing VGM =)
  2. One good thing about procrastinating is that I get really fast at finding more things to procrastinate with =) But yeah, no rush since I'm putting most things bar food/sleep on a hold for a week and a bit, so if someone can get it done faster, then do what works for you =)
  3. Tommy Emmanuel : Endless Road Pretty inspiring to a beginner acoustic guitar player like me, really entertaining and educational
  4. Shoot over a midi of the violin part or sheet music, etc and I'll let you know if I can do something, although my hands are tied until next thursday due to med exams >.> I saw this in the WIP forum, the only thing I was unsure about was how high up the violin was, only thing I'd worry about as as performer is making sure it wasn't too shrill/piercing so it didn't cut the softer background to shreds, but on a second listen doesn't seem too high up =) Being in college sure does suck haha, no money here also T_T Oh yes, also if anyone more experience with playing/recording can make this sound better than me then go for it, I'll happily step aside and not subject everyone to my playing lol
  5. Really like the simple but effective style, really brings back memories =) Also really liked the synth lead
  6. That'd pretty cool K.B, I love it when they mix starcraft unit sounds haha I have some stuff that sounds really hard core/beat heavy remixes that I found a long time ago, but they don't do the terran themes sadly But yeah, I second a starcraft remix, those 3 terran tracks are among my favorite and most emotion evoking pieces in all my musical life Or if anyone wants to collab with me on violin/acoustic guitar maybe I'd love to - but yeah, when I get better at composition and acoustic guitar I'll give it a go Edit: Damn Nase, that is really sweet , god I love that theme, awesome ^^
  7. My ring tone is: Metaknight's revenge from smash brothers brawl, people always comment that it's funky, distinct and ask what it is haha It's good because the intro is short and gets louder, doesn't alert other people as much, so gives me time to answer phone calls before the main theme comes on =)
  8. 'It would be helpful if you could provide samples of yourself playing, so we could get a sense of your ability and recording quality.' Chucked together a few things for you, recorded for about 5 mins, if you want something where I put more time into it let me know. Ignore wrong notes/tempo/other sounds =) First one is to show string crossing technique as just about any string player would recognise Second one was <3 Zelda, repeated twice with 2 different reverbs, but I'm not too sure how to use compressors/ EQ and stuff properly yet http://tindeck.com/listen/bxin P.S: If anyone knows how to help me record better in terms of mic position, or how to make it sound better using all that weird effect processing let me know =D *Goes back to study*
  9. -Good work on the vid, enjoyed it - looked like you were doing a speed run for some of them haha -Didn't recognise some of the gameboy tracks, but it was a really cool, excited about a lot of the remixes - shout out for the 'epic bananas' track -But yeah, - looking forward to the release! =D
  10. -Well I'm happy about chatting on skype/msn/irc if you let me know details, I'm usually on the ocremix irc chat, but the problem is time zones I guess -But if you arrange a time and method, probably on a weekend that is good for everyone then it should work out =)
  11. -As I've offered a few times in other places, I'd be happy if you need some violin recordings for the project music, and remixing maybe depending how good I am by the time this finishes since a month's experience I doubt will cut it -But I loved banjo-kazooie, can't express how big a part it was to my childhood, and how much fun it gave me =)
  12. -Been reading the tutes, and finding them really helpful - for some reason finding the same info on the web is much harder, so thanks for making it much easier -For a muso who is learning all this digital music stuff, it feels oddly alien and familiar at the same time, a real eye-opener to see what makes good music good =)
  13. -Well, even if I'm a bit late to work on something (although if something comes to me I'll try) if anyone wants me to record any sd3 violin tunes/themes let me know and I'll try to help and not sound bad -I figure it might help since there are so many string bits, and I need more practice recording =)
  14. -I was lucky that Obtuse pointed me here -But unlucky because I've already started mixing 'nuclear fusion' without knowing this awesome project was on -I'd love to try a remix but I'm really really newb, prob a bit too much for me to handle haha -I absolutely loved every track in this game, so gl on the project...I can't believe Electric Talk isn't taken!
  15. -I offer to do a violin part if needed, if you want samples of how I sound let me know -Oh yeah, if you wanna chat, just PM or you can find me on the IRC chat channel most days
  16. -Quite a few people from the QLD smash scene here have hacked brawl, heard some really cool stuff. I should recommend some ocremix stuff =D
  17. Heavy Rain 'Painful Memories' An amazing soundtrack imo, really pulled me into the game and was surprised at the amount of depth and emotion in the music! (>^^)>
  18. -Thanks guys for the positive feedback! =D -My friend, the piano player in the 4tet wrote them with input from us telling him stuff like 'omg, too hard! rewrite' and 'err..i can't physically play that note' -Just received my ATM350, so I can't wait to try out some recordings with it! =D
  19. -Starting to get into music again, practising violin and going to start doing remixing/recording, but here are some original pieces from a Clarinet 4tet that me and my friends played together back in 2006 -After study, gonna form up again and have some good times again =D -These are soft(sorry!) live recordings from yr11/12 and aren't perfect, but were good memories! (I'm playing the violin bit, and of course my other friends are piano/clarinet/cello) Too bad 2 of us are in Melb, I'm in QLD and the cello is in NZ, but gotta pursue your dream hehe Not 2 sure what happened to the 3rd Movement o.O Way too many flats, sharps and time changes haha
