  1. I won't be getting the game because I don't have a 3DS. Poop. But it looks like a lot of fun. My friend got it and I'm planning to steal her 3DS for 10 minutes just to see how it works.
  2. Sorry I've been gone. Hopefully within the next week or so I should be able to get something to you. But I went on vacation and I've gotta catch up on everything. ...yaaaaaay...
  3. Ok so I've already got like 3 or 4 other remix projects I'm currently working on, but uh... heck yes I'll do this. Can I claim something? You can hear some of my stuff in my Soundcloud link. I am much more electronic but I can get in orchestral stuff. I won't be able to send in anything for at the least the next 2-3 weeks though. Not sure if I read through the guidelines hard enough. If I screwed something up here, then oops.
  4. Yes I can. I happen to be able to manage 5 projects at a time. As long as I just know how to manage my time. lulz
  5. Dude that is great! So this is one with demo samples from the FL Studio trial version or something? This sounds pretty dang smooth for being simple plug-ins in FL.
  6. Ok. I made this same type of post on the Smash Bros. Crusade as well. I'm going to be busy and out of town for the next 2 weeks. Therefore, I'm not sure I can get anything to you for another 3 weeks. I can try earlier than that, but I doubt it will happen. And by the way, you can put my name down for claimed WIP on the original post, unless I haven't noticed and you did. Not important. Just thought I'd let you know.
  7. Ok this is what I've come to the conclusion of. I would love to be a part of this. Seriously. But I am going to be really busy for the next couple of weeks. If you could give me 3-ish weeks I can return and contribute.
  8. Well the hatred for '06 was understandable. That is considerably one of the worst games of modern gaming. Sonic Generations actually was pretty good. They stayed true to the Classic Sonic stuff even though it was transported to the 3D realm. It actually was a really great idea and they managed to make it work. Playing Green Hill Zone with Classic Sonic made me happy because, mechanically, they tried super hard to make it feel the same way the original Sonic 1 felt. And I think they did a great job. And the graphics are gorgeous. But the cutscenes in that game are so unbelievably painful to watch they are so embarrassing. Maybe it's just me. But I think they're pretty awful.
  9. Kill me for this but here goes... Sonic Unleashed. No seriously. I actually grew to really like that game.
  10. Again, I'm willing to help. I just need to be able to find time for this.
  11. I'll most certainly take it, if I have time. I think I will, because I just got done with one project, and I'm taking a break from another since the next deadline isn't in a while, and I have the Sonic CD project 50% deadline nearly done, so I believe I'll have time, now that I think about it. Give me a couple more days, and I think I may be able to claim it. So deadline is May 1st? Should we have other minor deadlines in place for like 50% done and nearly done or whatever? Just throwin' that idea out there.
  12. I'm still up for Dragon Roost, but keep it open because I'm not quite sure I can make it yet. I would love to, though.
  13. Really interesting and creative. I love when people sample stuff. I'm a huge fan of old school hip hop. This is pretty awesome.
  14. Hey dude! I would love to help, but I have numerous other projects I have to work on. BUT, I am most certainly willing to contribute if you need more than one composer. What I would like to ask, Mofat, is what capture card/PVR are you using and how much is it? Been thinking about getting one to record game footage, but not entirely sure what I should get. My LP friend (and personal friend...blinkkandumissit? HerrinPlays?... unless you're a big part of the LP community you probably don't know who that is) has an HD PVR but I don't know if there are cheaper ones that work well too.
  15. Did you see my last post? I think we may want to change some of the tracks or add in more, maybe. But this isn't my album, so don't listen to me.
  16. Oh my gosh I would die laughing of a remix of the Giant Pile of Poo or whatever that guy was. Dude that boss is what sold me. I ended up enjoying that game so much because of that one boss. I think I was on the floor laughing when I watched that boss fight.
  17. You probably should. We probably all need to work this all out by PMing. Is it required I join the forum? I probably sound really lazy and such, and it's not a big deal. Just wonderin'.
  18. Wow. This is really nice. And I am loving that bass. I think my only issue is that I feel more needs to come in. Snare could have more compressor on it to give it a more powerful kick, if you understand what I'm saying. Really nice mix overall. Great transition from Rusty Ruin to Hill Top. I didn't even think that would sound good, but you managed to do it and do it well.
  19. Done. If I can still answer the original question freely without having to do all those actual questions and such on that page then uh... Screw it I'm doing it. Why do I listen to video game music? Well first, one word. Nostalgia. I listen to Zelda or Mario or Sonic and my childhood returns to me again. Lots of times, even the darkest songs from a Metroid soundtrack can put me in a really good mood that day because it just reminds me of my childhood. And I don't know about everyone else, but my childhood rocked. I also listen to video game music because lots of times it seriously is written well. It doesn't necessarily sound very good (which is the case nearly--if not--half of the time), but lots of times the music is written well and can be a source of inspiration for my own original music. Melodies are very often ridiculously important in video games, as there is normally no lead lyrical vocals on a video game song. Often video game music can be crappy, though, but some of it I still listen to just because of that whole nostalgia thing. My parents didn't like the fact that I had interest in video game music. They thought that wasn't good influence on my musical skills. I was raised in a musical family, so this is why they were so concerned. And I listen to a ton of other artists out there. I listen to them more than any video game music, honestly. But there were some things about video game music that really got me thinking and inspired. And when it comes to me actually composing music for a video game, it's good to actually hear official video game music and be influenced by it. Often combining influence of video game music and popular music can create awesome things. Really, in general, being inspired by two different things and doing something like those two different things and mashing them together can create something new and cool. Hopefully that made at least a little bit of sense. I seem to be pretty good at failing to explain things. Also, listening to video game music is fun because you can find stuff you like and are interested in and remix it, which is why I am active on ocremix, of course.
