  1. I disagree about it being underrated. It's well known and pretty much always on top of kvr rankings: http://www.kvraudio.com/plugin-ranks.php
  2. Oooh this sounds really nice! The guitar playing is reaaaaally tight. Only thing I can nitpick is the piano - it sounds really mechanical, humanizing note velocities would make it sound a lot better!
  3. Be sure to include Ikaruga and Super Aleste so I can claim them
  4. Eh I ran out of ideas and time... I actually made 2 very different WIPs, but none of them sounded the way I wanted. I'll send the one I dislike the least.
  5. vgmix, but it's currently in beta: https://vgremix.com/ Not much going on but once it's out of beta things could get better
  6. 10th anniversary! I have a feeling there's gonna be tons of awesome songs!
  7. Ok, the song is updated, same link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/93696675/corridors.mp3 I still need to do some minor tweaks to the arrangement and humanize the instruments a bit (especially the percussion), but this is 90% done. I'm still thinking whether to play live bass/guitars here or not because I'm really lazy about recording these days. As always, comments and critiques are welcome!
  8. @Garpocalypse: I have one repeating pattern for the hand percussion, I was planning on making several variations once I start humanizing other instruments. The bagpipes are from the library that comes with Kontakt Player, but if you meant the low growling sound that plays from the very start, that's just a synth @timaeus: Yeah I tried messing a bit with note start times to give it a bit of variation, but then I repeated the same pattern so each one has the same two or three out-of-rhythm notes @Trinity Dragon: Well I tried adding some progressive elements in the song (like lots of time signature changes), and I also wanted the drums to follow the lead a bit. So this is more like... "progressive celtic"-ish. Is that even a thing? XD But I guess I could do something about the drums' sound, they sound a bit lifeless. Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll try to finish this as soon as possible.
  9. Link to the remix: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/93696675/corridors.mp3 Yeah this source has been done to death but yesterday I had this idea for a remix inspired by Yasunori Mitsuda's celtic-style works such as Creid and An Cinniuint. I need to humanize the instruments a bit, and record live guitars and bass. There's almost no mixing done here except for the panning, but I thought this WIP turned out pretty good and wanted to share it Comments/critiques/feedback are welcome!
  10. So I just went to vote and noticed several people misspelled the name of my track xD It's named Spinesharks, and that's supposed to be a pun on the name Shinesparks. But oh well, I guess people are just too lazy to fully read track names
  11. I think the themes to first 6 Tomb Raiders are just variations on the same melody. Here's a list of some Tomb Raider sources I love: Tomb Raider - Main theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_ekipC2ANs Tomb Raider 2 - Snowmobile theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BeGCMZ20xU Tomb Raider 2 - Venice Violins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpVOJVQpwKc Tomb Raider 4 - Puzzle theme: Tomb Raider Legend - Main theme: Tomb Raider Legend - Nepal 2: (I tried to remix this one a couple of times but it never sounded good xD)
  12. If it was as simple as that I wouldn't need 2 other programs to record my guitars.
  13. I downloaded it yesterday when I first saw it was free and I'm not disappointed The best thing about it is that it takes almost no CPU compared to some other synths I use.
  14. New version, same link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/93696675/wilyarty.mp3 I've messed around a bit with the compressors and sidechaining, there could still be some overcompression but I checked the song without a limiter on the master channel and the track didn't go above +1 dB even on the louder parts. Kick drum should also be a bit louder now.
  15. Link to the remix: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/93696675/wilyarty.mp3 Links to the sources: Slash Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfDZmdtrZ68 Moliarty's Tower: This was my entry for the 2nd round of the WCRG, and it did better than I expected. I wanted to get some more feedback before I submit this. I don't usually make DnB so feel free to criticize me as much as you want! P.S. There's also a small cameo of this somewhere in there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p45gdP2OKmU
  16. Hah, like DoD would kick the bucket a month before it's 10th anniversary I was able to see the results this morning, so I guess this is just temporary. I mean, it's not like the first time ever that the site is down xD
  17. I pretty much butchered Moliarty's Tower but I still think it's recognizable. Also, I'm too lazy to write a source breakdown.
  18. I'm bringing my AAA game. Your mind will be blown. P.S. Are we allowed to include short cameos (like a couple of seconds) of other sources?
