  1. I can't invest a lot of time, but I WILL do a boy band collab with two other dudes for Cilan/Chili/Cress if anyone else wants. VO-KILL HARM-KNESS LOL
  2. Wait... wat? Really? That's actually incredibly gratifying. Thank you. Can I ask how exactly?
  3. Stop. You'll make me blush! You two are the awesome ones to collaborate with! <3 Uguu~!
  4. Probably not. I can help you out come the 119th . I'm currently in New Zealand on holiday.

  5. Yeah. I think Eino is my most collabed person so this is rad. Also, I'm busy till the 19th. Sorry bros. Either way I'll deal with whatever. Good to be in the finals.
  6. What. The. Living. Hell. I never thought I'd ever make it this far in a compo ever. :/ This is a massive confidence boost. Maybe I should sub some of these mixes. lel
  7. Right. I hate to go against your ideas Cosmic, but what is the actual gain of having several albums which cover different Shonen material? Why not have one collective album to do the Shonen material? No restrictions. No bollocks. Simple. If it works out well, there's nothing stopping you from initiating another one. In fact. That's cool. But right now, I don't see why we have to segregate the series in question.
  8. Thanks so much dude. Glad to hear that.

  9. Ha. Hey Andrew! It's Callum. Small world. I would really recommend looking into some live performers. And I realise that some are harder to acquire than others, but at least your guitars could use some live treatment. I like how you said that you played all of the parts by hand. That means that there's already gonna be some humanistic (is that even a word lel?) feel to it in terms of rhythm. That snare kills the drum part, have you compressed the drums at all? Plus, the hi-hat feels like it needs some more variation and velocity quantization. The part from 0:40~ onwards until 1:00~ sounds REALLY good in the drums (minus the snare). Your kick sounds like it has no substance, try boosting some low mid frequencies by a few db and perhaps 10kHz by a few as well. You'll get some solid thumpage from that. I love your own additions to the arrangement here. Mind you, I've loved all of your compositions, so I don't doubt that. It does feel like it needs a better, more thorough ending though, just to fit with the genre. Maybe a double time section? Also, that brass sounds so hella good. I think you're better off calling this a Power Metal mix than just a plain old metal mix. Haha You can notice that the bass is not real unfortunately (and in my favourite section it's most noticable(0:40~ - 1:20~) Also, how much Reverb/Delay have you used? Don't let this dishearten you though. This is really good. And I know for a fact that you have the skills to get this to an OCR Mix Post standard. - Callum
  10. Hey, as a question... would the soundtrack to Dragonball Z Buu's Fury on the GBA be acceptable? I REALLY want to do a Dragonball Z Mix. So I want to make sure that it meets the guidelines. EDIT: Also, the Legacy of Goku 2.
  11. Man. It took me the longest time to realise that you didn't have to have a static EQ on your tracks. I'm so slow at this whole production thing. Haha Plus, I should probably look into getting Massive. I love me some thick synths.
  12. Thanks dude. I really enjoyed putting that track together. <3 Especially since I was really going for a Nine Inch Nails "Closer" sort of vibe.
  13. I cannot agree with this any harder right now. This is pretty much necessary. Not that I even think the project needs 'Editions'. Like, I feel like any tracks from Shonen Jump games just all lumped together would be just fine. Especially considering there's no 'genre' restrictions. :/ /my 2 cents lol
  14. Oh. We're counting automation as well? Yeah. I automate a lot actually. I wish it didn't require it, but sometimes you get a perfect guitar tone, but you get too much sound of the pick in there than you want... Gotta automate that out with EQ. :/
  15. Okay awesome. For some reason I couldn't find your PM button yesterday.

I must have been like... tripping or something. Haha

Sending your way now buddy. ;)

EDIT: Still can't find it... is it there for you? I honestly have no idea what's happening right now.

  16. Hey dude.

I have a WIP for that Yugioh track here if you want.

You okay if I just post it here?

  17. I think I got up to 35 for my recent mix. I've recently been trying my hardest to limit myself to 8 or so tracks... But every single time I go "MAN THIS SOUNDS LIKE IT NEEDS A STRING ENSEMBLE!" biggest.mistake.ever.
  18. Ah. Right, I get you now. I agree to some degree yes. There are a few gaps in those theories, but generally as an exception to the rule anyway. With most metals yeah, it's about the bass... unless it's like... power metal. Then every guitar is up playing the noodly bits. Haha But yeah I totally get what you're saying. I think there are upsides and downsides to both electronic and organically produced music. All in all though, I think it balances them rather than makes one harder.
  19. I'm not sure what you mean by 'strange audio artifacts'. Can you please elaborate?
  20. I've gotta agree with Brandon here. It's so much harder because EVERYTHING can affect your sound and you can get a slightly different sound because of small differences. When I record guitars in the heat, I get lots of fret buzzing which really affects the sonic character of the guitar. Mixing organic instruments/timbres is harder because there's never a consistency. Plus... y'know... we have to actually have the chops to record the stuff. Plus I know that Brandon and I don't stick to what you would call 'consistent organic genres'. We shift about a LOT and what you might just call Metal, we might call Metalcore, Black Metal or Thrash Metal. Y'know? lol my two cents also lol i don't know how to use anything especially compressors lol
  21. Thanks dude. Your track was pretty hella awesome too! I cannnnnot wait for next round <3
  22. Not awesome. Just interested in letting all the good work go as far as it can.
  23. How would you like to marry me? Like seriously. Baritone Sax is probably one of the best instruments ever. dat low breathy range <3
