  1. As long as you're okay with music that's generally epic in scope (and sometimes in length), I can't possibly recommend Nightwish and Vanishing Point enough (not necessarily Nightwish's current line-up, which I'm not yet familiar with).
  2. Maybe I will add the drum kit afterall XD
  3. Oh, sorry..I messed it up XD
  4. WIP 2 sent *breathes*. ;D
  5. haha oh noes Also: hurray. =D
  6. To Times Once Forgotten, Song of Feeling and Journey For Her Thoughts are absurdly outdated and have since been reworked (and consequently outdone): http://ocremix.org/artist/4574/vampire-hunter-dan/remixes I was quite proud of them at the time, but I honestly can't think of any reason to get them now aside from being able to say "I have them." Actually, please don't even listen to "Song of Feeling," as even at the time, that particular MIDI-rendered version destroyed me in bad ways, and I take very little responsibility for the pain. XD Terminacoustica, however, may be worth a download, as that's certainly the best version you'll ever hear of that arrangement. Cheers.
  7. Especially in seeing who was there, I'm feeling a bit of regret in missing out. In fairness to myself, though, I had something important to tend to ;D
  8. This one was a blast...I'm actually pretty excited xD
  9. I was just thinking late last week about "how long he's been alive"..
  10. I've sent you an e-mail as well, sir.
  11. Yes. HO my god, Depression City ;-; I forgot the Gainax film Wings of Honneamise. Some don't seem to be big on it, but I'm a huge fan. Really intriguing, thought-provoking stuff. Sakamoto OST FTW.
  12. Love it. One of my favorites as a young lad. Again with the stellar anime music ;D
  13. I'd definitely second these. Project A-Ko 2 was a little awkward for me..but all four movies were really fun. Dominion was always a big favorite, too. Nice, pretty short OVA series, with cat girls *not typical* of the ones that seem to be more common today in anime..haha.
  14. IMHO, Macross and Macross Plus are two *totally* different things for the most part. I'm not big at all on the original series, even though it's cute..and I already mentioned my views on Macross II. I haven't seen Macross 7 (series) or the more recent ones. Macross Plus is just..a thing unto itself, and requires no viewing of any other Macross to understand it. It's very mature, stylish and the focus is definitely *not* on the mecha/robots (if it were, then I wouldn't be so big on it). It's just a thing to behold, rly. Mmkay. YES. I won't discuss dubs at all, because my views seem to be different from most and I tend to irritate people with them, but YES. YES. I adore the original LA Heroes (or w/e) dub. Also: there is a DVD set out there with the original dub (as well as some music-related extras and original language) on it, and I believe I still have it kicking around somewhere. I went through great pains to find it a few years ago. And Masamichi Amano is basically a Japanese hybrid of Wagner and Strauss. I *require* his music in my life.
  15. I'm going to step a little bit out of bounds here too..haha. I can't possibly recommend Giant Robo (7 episode OVA series, the last of which was delayed for a long time) enough. It has some quirks, but the music has inspired me to no end, and it's one of the most dramatic..anythings I've ever had the pleasure of viewing multiple times. It's quite vulgar, but I'm a *huge* fan of Ninja Scroll (film), as well as Wicked City. The Gunsmith Cats OVA series springs readily to mind, Bubblegum Crisis for the *fantastic* music (I'm honestly not a huge fan of the anime itself), and ditto for Macross II (not a big fan of the anime, as the art and animation are..a bit odd for me, but the soundtrack is simply unreal). If you like to go old-school OVA, then Outlanders and Iczer-One are both ones I found really fun when I was younger. Naturally, I'm a huge fan of the original Vampire Hunter D OVA, but I find it doesn't go over as well as the more recent film with most people. Also, though it again has its quirks, Record of Lodoss War OVA = a big yes from me. Macross Plus (4-episode OVA series) is..I can't even come up with words to adequately describe it. I'm also really fond of 8Man After, anything Dirty Pair, and 3x3 Eyes. I could spend forever listing things, because this is the era I grew up watching and just generally being obsessed with. Good luck in your hunt.
  16. Oh..wow. I really should listen to this..haha. =D A louder version of my track is here, btw, for any interested parties: http://justinbailey13.googlepages.com/DanseFinale.mp3
  17. Best of luck to you in your recovery. I..kind of almost died from UC in 2005, so..I can relate, but I've come a long way since then, albeit colon-less. If you'd like any advice that I could possibly give, please feel free to let me know. Cheers.
  18. Fantastic. I regret I'll not be in the area this time around (but perhaps in a few months). I hope you guys have a chance to play my "Cid" piece again =D Cheers.
  19. I don't have much to say about the Transformers soundtrack, since I've only heard bits and pieces, but it seems fairly epic and the sort of thing I'd enjoy. Steve Jablonsky also scored the anime film Steamboy, which is one of my favorite soundtracks of all time; very epic in scope, lots of heavy brass and string parts, but also some nice, soft, emotional themes. In Steamboy, the main character's theme is used a few times throughout the score to great effect, and absolutely gets me every time I hear it. If you enjoyed the Transformers soundtrack, then I'd highly recommend checking out both the Steamboy film and--especially--soundtrack. Additionally, Jablonsky scored The Island, a film (and soundtrack) that I also thoroughly enjoyed.
  20. Definitely my favorite piece from this game. Look forward to hearing the results. =)
  21. I do appreciate the reviews thus far, and I'm glad to see that this arrangement seems to be fairly well enjoyed overall. There is a point, however, that I feel bears mentioning: there are actually only three pieces from Breath of Fire used throughout this arrangement; I can certainly understand how someone might not realize this, though, as two of the themes are arranged in "pieces," with the first part of the theme being presented in one way, and the second part presented in a rather different way (an example of this would be the last minute or so of the arrangement, which is simply the second half of the BOF Intro which begins "Flames of Valor"). Anyway, most everything I've read so far has been very insightful, and I thank those who've taken the time to listen.
