  1. Glad to see my unearned pick is appreciated
  2. Firebird for sure (it used to be $75 but now it's free at no cost in features) Synth1 is a solid pick as well, really deep for a free synth Zebralette (download demo of Zebra to get it) is pretty nice. TruePianos has a demo; when it expires you can still use it, you just can't do any tweaking. For $0 it's definitely a start (pianos get expensive) Ambience is a great free reverb. Camelcrusher is a great free distortion. Alieno has some neat spacey/synthetic sounds. SQ8L is pretty good for retro sounds. If you want some out-there stuff, the Reaktor Player comes with some neat tools.
  3. I think it's best that the drums remain without glitching or other embellishment; they support a really wonderful wall of texture perfectly. Great remix, full of expression.
  4. How much time do I have? I have so many ideas.
  5. I always wanted to pick the source but that was with the idea that there would be others participating.
  6. Thanks. I'm a little proud of all sounds except for the weird pad in the background being mine. Also, I'm surprised you remember those.
  7. That was definitely one of the worst arranging experiences I've had.
  8. Nobody's mentioned Corridors of Time?
  9. Que 0:11-0:18 of source "Help, Ganon froze the fountain"
  10. Haha I looped it a good 3 or 4 times looking. And many more trying to think of what to do with this little pile of deviance
  11. Check the vote end date. Think I should get back into competitions.
  12. This was originally a submission for a "upbeat winter level" prompt. I think it could be fitting in a platformer. Main Concerns - SC continuously destroys my uploads, simple or complex, peaking at -6 dB or peaking 0 dB. How can I fight this? - I've struggled with muddy mixing in general. Is there anything I could do here to make things cleaner? Snare too thin? ambience (pad during saw solo) too muddy in the low end? - Is there too much repetition? I felt I created enough variation but MO usually differs from people I ask.
  13. Ok thanks. Any possible explanation for everything slowing down?
  14. @zircon Thanks so much for this great deal; it came right when I was itching for some orchestral sounds. However, I'm having issues with loading ROC. ROP, and Bravura into Kontakt. Furia and Vocalisa work fine (especially enjoying phrasing). Does this have anything to do with those three libraries having multiple RAR downloads? These downloads slow down my computer and I was hoping to get a preview of each library so I only extracted the first parts. When I attempt to load them in Kontakt, my computer just freezes (even post-restart). I've also noticed Kontakt opens much slower in general. For some reason Sibelius opens slower too (maybe because I use Kontakt instruments in all projects there) CPU: Intel i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50 GHz Memory: 6 GB RAM OS: Windows 10
  15. This has a cool sort of Persona vibe to it. Like a blissful solitary walk at night.
  16. This seems just right for a visual novel. This seems fitting
  17. Nice psychedelic flavor. And good work on integrating those sources, very stylish.
  18. Probably the most organic-sounding Vocaloid usage I've heard. Pretty sweet track; I particularly like the bassline's engineering. Props for making the second half more pop-like without making it annoying.
  19. Pretty nice atmosphere here; it has this "busy" feel to it that vaguely reminds me of The Crystal Method. I like how it's a hybrid of straightforward EDM and complextro's warping.
  20. I've been learning FM8 and understand modulator/carrier relationships, ratios/offset, feedback and the like but I'm having a hard time actually making workable sounds. I'm not looking for monster dubstep basses; I just want alien-sounding stuff I could use for ambience/effects. Using FM feels very layered and confusing.
  21. Thanks; the real-time render worked. The max polyphony doesnt seem to be the problem.
  22. Maybe the Megaman Battle Network world? Sure, pretty much all evil revolves around abuse of technology, but it would be a fairly comfortable world (aside from constantly dealing with viruses when using the internet).
  23. I've been exploring some Kontakt libraries lately and I'm getting rendering issues I've never had with Virtual Drumline (which I have been using quite frequently for the last year). Some notes are getting cutoff after export, like the note was stopped with an instant release partway through its length. At first I thought it was just sustained notes, but apparently its effecting the sound of cymbals as well. Link here. Trouble spots are 0:19, 0:43, 0:52 (seems to affect both piano and drums), and the hi-hat throughout the 7/8 portion I would post this on the NI forum but my login doesnt work for that part of the site.
  24. TBH I wasn't that interested when this first dropped. But now that I've watched the trailer and read up on the features, this looks pretty good. @zircon thanks a lot for the affordable-ish price tag and Player Compatibility. I am seriously considering buying this if my creativity ever gets out of the desert,
  25. A refreshing take on orchestral remixing. Interesting source and cool ideas (like the guitar entrance). Conservative, but it works in the mix's favor. Pretty solid.
