  1. I'm fine with the extended intro; I find it atmospheric. The samples are showing their age but don't ruin the song; quality samples would make this fantastic. Speaking of atmosphere, I would say this is one of the more interesting techno mixes on the site. The lush harmonies sit over the driving drums and watery bass to make something otherworldly sounding. Pretty good mix.
  2. FL Studio Mobile. For reference of tangible improvement.
  3. So weird not opening up Excel when I listen to a mix. I actually find the narration really cool for some reason. I usually find it decent at best, but it really works here. I'm not into the rap, but the processed vocals are cool and the instrumental is nice.
  4. Just hit 200. Fun month, downloaded 66 mixes. Think I need to go back to following the front page.
  5. I don't really like the synths; maybe it's because they remind me of when I had NO idea of what I was doing as opposed to a scrap of an idea. The synth at 2:03 sounds fantastic though, especially with the mellow hi-hat backing. I agree with OA on the timpani. My other gripe is that it doesn't really take me anywhere. It's a perfectly decent mix; it just doesn't really make me think of or feel anything in particular. Still decent though.
  6. I like the somber intro a lot and the next section is mystical. Actually the whole mix has this astmosphere of mystery and magic. It makes me imagine the sunrise being viewed from a mountain in some far-off land with no human activity. Great and unique remix.
  7. Metal never changes hahahaha. Good remix; I especially like the mellow part.
  8. I like the tone of this piece a lot. It expands on the source like an orchestral mix should. Good stuff. I'm also tempted to write a drumline accompaniment to it for some reason...
  9. Really good arranging; it sounds AAA grade in more than just sample quality. Not really my thing, but excellent work. I especially like the choir and Bloody Tears. The 5:00 section is sweet too.
  10. Interesting stuff. The sound choices are exotic and keep things fresh. Not much to say but solid mix.
  11. An example of simplicity when it works. Unique yet perfectly fitting to the source's style at the same style. I especially like the whistling.
  12. Great intro and awesome atmosphere. Admittedly, I wish that was the direction the mix took instead of chiptune + strings, but what it does do is good. The mellow part at 1:53 is great and its transition into a celebratory orchestra is even better. Very good mix despite inital disappointment.
  13. That's a seriously catchy backing. Chiptune + vocals is definitely unexpected as DJP said. That guitar solo is a nice surprise. I'm gonna have to say that this mix is bad because I was already hungry and have 90+ minutes to go. Solid stuff with a bit too much repetition.
  14. The sudden transition out of the intro is actually pretty sweet. The same an be said for the guitar; it lives up to the title. I have to say that the other transitions are jarring and feel like skipping songs on a CD. It's a good concept and mix; the execution is just a bit lacking. Good job.
  15. The samples make it sound about 6 years older than it is, but they are still used well. The frantic part is a nice contrast; it came just as I was starting to tire of the mix. But then again, I am not crazy for woodwind pieces in the first place. The last minute is particularly good. Decent mix.
  16. Ah, some nice industrial stuff. I like how it mixes with the strings, but I would really like a purely electronic mix. Then again, I was crazy enough to listen to all of CotMM in one sitting, so take it with a grain of salt. Good mix anyways.
  17. God, that string sample is awful. It seems it wasn't heard much more positively 13 years ago. When the hi-hats came in, things started getting interesting. I like how this mix uses techno to turn this source into something really mysterious and otherworldly. Cool stuff, even though it probably isn't as good today for some. Good mix; it reminds me of why I added the source to my maybe-remix list.
  18. I agree with Tilly; this is a nice take on a popular theme. I like the chord choices. And that sax is dead on. Too bad it's not recorded as well. Also, great use of the source's B section. Pretty good.
  19. Hmm, not feeling this one. The production, arrangement, and everything are great, but it's just not for me. Good job anyways.
  20. I would LOVE to see a line play my stuff, but I can't see it happening. I also suck at remixing, so I can't really make a Latin version.
  21. I like how OCR format makes the title seem to be the secret of Monkey Island. Lots of fun stuff here; we got a mischievous trombone and a funky keyboard which is later accompanied by a chip synth. And then there's the sick chiptune break. Don't forget the piano. Very good mix.
  22. Interesting concept, nice instrumental too. I really like how the instruments alone create the atmosphere of a courtroom while all the rapping is going on; it's very atmospheric stuff. Also, sweet piano runs. Now this is a creative mix.
  23. Intro is... psychedelic. Very strange stuff, disjointed is an apt term here. It feels a bit all over the place in terms of structure, but I'm exhausted, so maybe I can't fully comprehend a monster like this. Very interesting genre fusions; I like the prevalence of glitching too. Interesting mix.
  24. The bass sounds nice and has a great entrance. The quiet section, however, felt empty compared to the beat-focused ones. 2:36 has a nice experimental feel to it; it also relates to the title. I like the hit on 2 and 4. Decent mix.
