  1. That's, not true.... Nintendo sells because it's family oriented. They always have been, right from the start. They're also extremely innovative. Every console that they've made has featured a new design for their controller. Off-TV play is also something that I like, because it takes into consideration that there is often more than one person who will use the TV in households around the World. (Also, it's family oriented, and it looks fun ). Edit: If the Wii had such gimmicky controllers, then why did the Playstation come out with this? (Wii would like to copy).
  2. Amazing cello ReMix!!! . I can tell by listening to it that it's live. Are you planning on submitting this? It reminds me of the Piano Guys . So Awesome!
  3. It'll be interesting to se how Aquatic Base sounds with Quick Man's theme. Good luck Xarnax42! Looking forward to hearing the Round 5 songs as well.
  4. Happy b-day Gario! :).

  5. Claiming Crystal Man as #1 Pick. Will post the other 4 soon. 1) Crystal Man (MM5) 2) Shade Man (MM7) 3) Wind Man (MM6) 4) Time Man (MM Powered UP) 5) Air Man (MM2)
  6. I almost forgot about the fact that Chargin' Chuck is appearing in this game. I wonder what else they'll add into the game. Nintendo is really innovative. I think that the Wii U will do extremely well; because of it's price, and because of the games on it. I think that Nintendo will take the opportunity that Wii U presents, and will come out with some amazing games in the future. They've already done so, and it hasn't even been out for a year yet!
  7. I think that Super Mario 3D World is kind of a spiritual successor to Super Mario World. In its own unique way. Also, Super Mario World introduces the Yoshi, 3D World introduces this: It seems as if they're trying to bring the same Mario (from the snes) that inspired us as kids, to this generation of consoles (and generation of players) in its own unique way . I absolutely love the new cat suit idea, and the game play looks amazing . Edit: I also found this Article by Time Magazine: http://techland.time.com/2013/06/14/exploring-super-mario-3d-world-with-its-development-team/.
  8. This song is amazing. It's called Rust Color, from Star Ocean 3. Rust Color: .I may attempt to Remix this in the future (Orchestral); but I wanted to post this song here in case anyone else wants to Remix it (way better than I could xD), and also because it's an amazing song.
  9. Mix subbed! I hope that Zerothemaster subs one in as well . Also, I hope that the source is recognized better this time xD.
  10. I have to say, jnWake; You have to revisit this song and sub it. This is the best interpretation of Aquatic Base that I've during this compo . @Mindwanderer: I hear the hollowness, I'm just not sure what I did differently this time....I think I may have spent too much time on the Percussion, since using it in a DAW is relatively new to me. @Mr. L: I like your ambient tracks . Reminds me of New Age, and several other genres that I like.
  11. How is everyone's Round 5 song going? Mine is coming along slowly, but it's coming along. I was wondering if any contestant here was planning to spruce up their song and submit it to OCR. I want to fix up and sub at least one song from this compo. Anyone else plan on doing the same?
  12. I'm up against Zerothemaster with the source Neptune Man, this should be interesting. Looking forward to hearing what you came up with for Round 4 jnWake! I noticed that you said you used a snare in your song, which is interesting, because I did as well XD.
  13. Rough info on Round 4 Source usage: -30 second intro (with some aquatic base) -Aquatic base A -Turbo Man -Aquatic base B.
  14. Entry Submitted ! I experimented a little bit this round, and I'm pretty happy with what I have ! (minus a few little tweaks that I'd like.) Wasn't able to write a review for Round 3, but I'll try for Round 4. Hopefully the source is a bit more recognizable this round xD. Good luck jnWake .
  15. Here's my Source usage for my song. 00:00-00:25 (Aquatic Base Source Intro, literally) How was this not heard?? XD 00:38-00:48 (Aquatic Base Source 1:46-1:53). 00:53-1:20 (Burst Man A) 1:20-End (Chords from Aquatic Base 00:00-00:12) 1:50-2:01 (Burst Man 2:03-2:15 (Aquatic Base Source 31-33 Piano) A little background info on the title. I though about how it sounded uplifting, and then thought about naming it "Rise Above the Clouds". Then I thought about how I name my songs knowing that people around the world will hear it; and that it will affect, inspire, and a lot of other endless possiblities. Which then made me think about the tornado that occured on Oklahoma, and then I thought that the title was perfect X). I hope that it makes anyone out there feel as if you can simply rise above the clouds . I also name songs based on how they make me feel, this one sounds uplifing, and positive . Thanks! A Crono/Kingdom Hearts/Sonic ReMix Sounds cool....you're giving me ideas XD. Yeah, the violin triplets leading into 1:20 was my way of keeping things moving while shifting keys. That's a Huge comment , thanks! I'll try to find better piano (and harp) samples, so that when I use them they sound good. It's funny that you mention slow orchestrals when I plan to do the excat opposite type of Orchestral for this round (Sonic + Turbo Man = fast and epic). I compose using String Orchestra most of the time, so the low instrumment would be the Bass/Contrabass.....it's important not to let the bass overpower the other instruments within a section, unless they have the main/ or prominently supporting part (not for our round though). Thanks for the critiques, it helps me progress . I plan on experimenting for our round . Considering that you're just starting, that's pretty good . I'm glad that you liked my song! As for beginning tips, try reading these threads. Zircon's thread here helps (the links are on the last page): http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3314 http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43377. These helped me when I first began working in my DAW. I'll post my Reviews later.
  16. Looking forward to mixing Turbo Man . Good luck jnWake. I'll post my reviews later on in the week.
  17. This song is incredible!! It doesn't sound like a medley at all, but rather one coherent piece based on several other sources. This sounds like it could go to the judges forum, and pass right now. Great work!
  18. Entry Submitted! @Mr.L: Thanks, it worked when I tried it in Audacity, but then I realized that I'd be sending it in as a .wav , so I asked Darke to do that. Oh, and I did mean a colon xD. Also, I'm glad that I gave you some ideas for when you revisit your Round 2 song. Mario Kart 7 is a soundtrack that I like as well. @NovaReaper: Good Luck to you as well. @jnWake: I utilized some of the chords that I haven't used yet in this entry. Thanks for the critiques.
  19. I have no clue where to post this question, so I might as well post it here. Does anyone know how to get a semi-colon ( : ) into the title of your song? I've seen it in other songs on this site, but don't know how to put it in my own title (it keeps saying "not a valid title" whenever I try).
  20. Welcome to the B4C2 , and thanks for filling in for jefepatronjoshi . I look forward to seeing what you come up with. @Theory of N: , I meant, "Someone, please fill in for him" XD.
  21. Glad that you liked it, because I definitely plan on revising it later! Noooo, just as I'm determined to make this entry one of my best songs for this compo. Someone, please fill in for him . No . I want to work for my votes, and not win by default.
  22. Review : Tuberz McGee: Nice use of Burst Man's Theme! This song has a lot of energy, nice job! jnWake: This match-up was a very tough decision. Your song is amazing. Nice use of the guitars, sources, and overall energy in your song. Great ending as well. Mr.L: Your track belongs on Mario Kart 7. (end of review). Seriously though; the repetition doesn't bother me, but maybe that's just me xD. I like the feeling that this gives, kind of like a "Turbo man driving through Chrome Gadget Zone at night" feel. Good job. Zerothemaster: Nice arrangement, but it could use some more energy. therex: Nice dynamics, and instrument choices. Both sources were used well in your track. I like the Brass, and you have a nice ending as well! Your song fits the title of your track very well. Mindwanderer: Nice Orchestration, and in 6/4 time (or 3/4 time). Nice arrangement, you could add a little more energy to you track, but it's definitely an improvement. Cash and Change: Very funky, niiiice . I really like the arrangement and how the sources flow with each other. Great job! Myself: I had 1 to 2 days to work on it, which explains its shortness. I would like an opinion on how the opening cello sounded in terms of quality, because I may use it again. The ending is louder than I intended it to be. I wanted to be just a little bit quieter, yet still have it pack a punch. Any other advice or criticism is welcome ! Edit:....I like Polterpup X).
  23. Great Round 2 mixes everybody . I'll post my reviews off every song later on.
  24. Thanks for the advice . I think I found a way to learn synth1 better, and I'll be studying it for a while. Edit: Never mind, all it took was downloading an earlier version, and I'm good .
  25. I didn't have a lot of time for the Round 2 mix, but this is the general idea of the song. (Needleman is conducting the Flame of hope in the Aquatic Base, until it is blown out by Elise; thus erasing the entire events that occurred in Sonic 06').
