  1. I dunno, I watched Zircon remix Setzer for the FF6 album before Briggs ever started streaming music, maybe even before he streamed games, and I'm sure zircon wasn't the first to do it either. BUT I love that people are doing this now, and I want to get in on it myself, who knows when. But watching OA's bald head and rippling abs live stream some music making will be awesome. (How is OA not a main character in a game? He's got the body for it) EDIT: Tropes vs. OA in ReMixing
  2. BioShock Infinite is a PC game you can play on PC / Steam, http://store.steampowered.com/ There are other versions of the game, but they are vastly inferior and have lower visual quality.
  3. WHOO! I'm with you man! I'm all about the music and paying tribute to THOSE PEOPLE YOU LISTED and many others! :-D

  4. Ah yeah I know how that is, haha! All you can do is try to prioritize them by when they were due.
  5. Your sax for Sax of Gold is still SO good, that song has held up really well to this day, mostly because of your sax and Usa's hand percussion. :-P

Haven't heard anything from you in forever, hope you are doing well.

  6. I'm glad that new mixes aren't being accepted, looking forward to this coming out so finishing what's left is a good plan
  7. :-o dang man you're cool
  8. Ah cool no problem man, but if it drops to that price or lower by the time you're set.... I'mma leap! Like a leopard! And if you haven't played BioShock Infinite, you totally should. Easily the best game this year, the best I've played in a LONG time. Someone should buy that off of you if you want to buy it cheap. It's worth playing sooner than later imo.
  9. http://ocremix.org/forums/showpost.php?p=913512&postcount=724 Debunked!
  10. So far this thread is FAR LESS of a time sink than that other one. Was it crazy of me to think that it would be a bunch of women in here debating the male tropes? Maybe.... just maybe... this shows how silly that other thread is. But it's a legitimate thread so feel free to debate the topic. I can't help it if, as dudes, you don't CARE, because we are naturally less likely to care about this stuff. http://www.pandys.org/articles/malerape.html
  11. For this argument to be valid you would have to prove that there are no female game developers Plus, the fact that men developers would create these characters doesn't make critiquing the enforcement of over-the-top gender roles in games any less valid
  12. There's no video series for this. SURPRISED? Well, it's just another way men are being kept down and oppressed into tired, repressive crap roles. Since there's no video series I will instead display some ways that men are sexualized, or at the very least, stereotyped into a distinct set of basic features. You've got your buff beefcake strongman who is sometimes possibly also really dumb Unff... tight pants <3 You've got literally THOUSANDS of main characters with shaved heads, ALWAYS ripped, hot abs (Don't worry about page stretching, image detail required) Is there ever an instance of a fatter character who isn't either totally secondary, or is the VILLAIN? Also, speaking of InFamous: Bald head. Ripped abs. But let's take a look at Zeke from InFamous. Fatter, secondary. Almost completely unnecessary part, a character that really didn't even need to be included. An unimportant fat sidekick. How are the tropes against men in games any less damaging? I know everyone is in a HUFF about the women tropes thread, but give this some thought. And when you're done, look at this sexy topless pic. moobs
  13. That's because it would look like this: And neither men nor women would be interested in THAT
  14. I honestly think it would be really, really interesting to get a female perspective on some of these topics. Specifically, female game developers who work on these games, characters, and artwork.
  15. Man I sent a message that day describing what the coals were doing and asking what I was doing wrong, and they granted me $15 in store credit to buy different coals! I guess what I described wasn't normal.

  16. You didn't, you can still watch it here: http://www.twitch.tv/flexstyle/b/387173404 Enjoy the stream.
  17. If by some off chance you extent this by a few days, I might be able to enter. At work until 11pm.
  18. Hey, did you see my offer in the "what a deal" thread? I hope I didn't scare you off... I'd truly appreciate it and I could paypal you if'n that's what you're into.

  19. Yeah, it'd actually be awesome to see OCR adopt that kind of system for albums. Instead of drop-posting 6 mixes when an album comes out, it'd be pretty awesome to post 1 mix per day for let's say a week. It'd give 1 song per day some well-deserved attention on its own. It seems like project songs get the short end of the stick on the site, even a project mix that isn't flooded usually gets paired with a non-project mix that takes the top spot. I know the goal is for people to download and listen to the entire album to appreciate everything as a whole, but who really does that? Believe me, I think it would be ideal if they did. And I know there's a lot of people from OCR in particular who do, but it's reasonable to assume there's a large portion of the audience who don't sit down and enjoy the albums as a whole. Anyway, is this going to be posted to OCR as an OCR album when it is all released?
  20. It's ok. Thank you very much for letting me know, AND for keeping the thread bumped up! Hopefully having it appear in peoples' User CP will remind them to produce a nice WIP for the May 1st deadline. Just an initial WIP, folks! If you want to pull a Sixto and produce a final song (or 3) I will definitely not fault you for that, in fact that is encouraged. All it'll do is make sure the album gets finished faster.
