I agree. And having any other panel during DoD is just not fair. I hope they fix it.

Steam Gift Pile Error Code Giveaway!

What I think happened is they had a specific amount of gifts, and most people got the really good ones on day 1, when they weren't even giving out coal. Now that they have coal, most people get that, and worthless crappy coupons for games nobody ever heard or cared about. Anyway I have 3 achievements to do from today but I got behind and need to work. x_x -
Because...! He's not from OCR! Haha just kidding. But no really, he's a newcomer.

Well yeah but you're only using 30 seconds, there's probably chunks that big where there is other lead available You could use second half of the chorus with guitar lead + the breakdown part :3

Naw don't lose too much hope. You should actually have 3 gifts by now.. 2 gifts for checking your inventory on day 1 1 gift today for joining the "Holiday Group" Also Spiral Knights is free and that one isn't hard to get For everyone trying to get the gifts to open via achievements, this is a good resource: http://steamcheeves.com/ Haha, well I am up to 6 coal, 3 coupons... I figure I'll hit 10 coal then trade 7 for a gift, and go from there. Kinda sucks to get nothing but coal and worthless coupons. -

I haven't gotten a game as a gift yet... I have 5 coal and 3 useless coupons. That kinda sucks. -
Brandon can no longer contribute to this conversation. He pleads the fifth, and will be relocated to a secure facility on the West coast.

Well I can pretty much guarantee that I won't be able to buy anything, so I'll list my coupons and games for trade. Wimpy list now but I'll add to it: - 25% off VALVE - 33% off Game of Thrones - 50% off The Ball - 50% off THQ - Sonic 3 and Knuckles -
But bad poetry is only 1 aspect of the Vogons. 1. Limited intelligence. 2. Dislike technically demanding jobs. 3. Hate technology (Those nasty computers). 4. Hate computer programs even more than computers (Evil). 5. Like menial clerical jobs. 6. Like writing letters and sending emails. 7. Like writing non-technical reports. 8. Everyone is up in arms about this SOPA thing while they haven't even been voting on it. There are MUCH more pressing matters so much more closer to home that I believe people should be worried about. See my sig for more details, add it to your sig, and spread the word.

That's actually a really good point dude. It makes me want to consider getting 10 coal though. Use 7 to get a gift, no more coal, then have 3 entries still, and games from then on. -
OCR02350 - Wild Arms "The Long Journey Ahead"
Brandon Strader replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Yep. Diggi Dis can do no wrong. The opening ePiano was simply beautiful, and the funky wah guitar that soon enters is really clean and nicely recorded. The body and bass in the track is so clean and well-refined. I think the somewhat exposed string ensemble sample that comes in as a lead leaves a bit to be desired, but surely I am only noticing it because of how clean the mix is. So it's more of an observation than a legitimate gripe, and I'm certainly no sample-nazi. I liked the vocal samples that are used and I think they provide a greater sense of whimsy for the song while they are playing. The drum and backing variations at 2:51 were great to help break up the monotony a bit from the similar repetitions prior. The drum variation in general, which does include some 4/4 sections, was quite well done and didn't linger on a single style of beat for too long. Diggi delivers yet again with a really solid and well-played track. -

Stevo, I love you, you sly dawg I gotta be honest, I'm totally craving your Pod HD right now though. The sample you showed me had great lower-end tone and presence.. it saddens me to say that this is of a similarly crispy nature to your Rad Racer remix, and the kick drum is similarly undefined (and I totally listened on studio monitors this time, not headphones!) But I know you have improved with recent acquisitions or are improving right now from what you showed me. So I'm sorry to bring it up, but I gotta be honest. But wait, there's more -- I really liked the arrangement. I'd go as far as to say I loved it. Great western vibes and nice solo melodies that reach out beyond the sizzly guitars and the muffly drums. Really some great performance and arrangement here, and the whistle ending was pure class. There's probably some age to this track by now, so I am very excited to start hearing your new stuff with the Pod HD. Great work on this. -
OCR02349 - Wild Arms "Fireflight"
Brandon Strader replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
This song meanders a lot and I don't think it reflects the best of Blind in either a production or arrangement standpoint. Having said that, I think it is definitely a darker journey of sorts than what you'd usually hear from him. I'm not a fan of the consistency of the bass drum, which includes the volume and lack of tone variation on it. It seems louder or stronger than the rest of the song and it really throws me off. I think a more laid back, less rigid 4/4 beat would have really done wonders for this track. I like the atmospheric parts where there is no kick drum, but surely some kind of ongoing fusion of beats rather than binary 4/4 beats on or off would have been great to have. I don't mean to sound all negative about this and I really appreciate what you have done here and I think this is a great direction for you.. also totally appreciative of the increased file size limitations. I don't know if it was your song that ushered that in but at any rate, I totally tip my hat to you, good sir. -

Steam Gift Pile Error Code Giveaway!

Wtf? Ok, I am finally getting 'gifts' now.. but I have 4 lumps of coal and no actual games. After reading about every other person on Steam getting awesome free game gifts, this makes me sad. It'd be epic if I won every game on Steam due to getting nothing but coal. But if I get nothing but coal and I don't win, then all I will have had was coal that disappeared. ;_; I may sound greedy or something but come on lol...
