  1. 12:03AM? FAIL! j/k, Thanks everyone for being so kind.
  2. Not too fond of the new, less confident 'ocre'. But your friendship is still very greatly valued and appreciated.

  3. Thanks man! You're great, don't ever change that sig :-D

  4. Thank you! :-D You're a great dude

  5. Ah that's cool then, my mistake -- not familiar enough with the OST to recognize the Dreams Dreams source usage in it. I'll revise my comment to say it's a pretty sweet ReMix.
  6. There's about 70 seconds of variations on Gate of your Dream (out of 351 total seconds) so it's not exactly a remix, but it is a pretty sweet original song with a small homage to Gate of your Dream in there.
  7. birthdaaaaaaaay http://compo.jhsounds.com/
  8. Hey JH, Happy birthday man. I hope your Crackton for today is a good one
  9. I didn't have that issue with Gears 2 but I found that when I play a game for an extended period of time on the Xbox360, like for more than a few hours, it seems like assets build up in the cache and cause any number of strange and inconsistent bugs that are corrected with a system reboot.
  10. I thought Gears 1 was great. Gears 2 was even better. I beat both of them uncountable times. :3 Took down RAAM on Insane with my brother-in-law. We cheered loudly when he died even though it was the middle of the night and there were people sleeping right under us. Through the floor I mean. So Gears 3 should be even better eh? I gotta wait until gamefly ships it, which could take weeks.
  11. Sorry about that. We're thinking of sending it in October. There's still a few songs to tweak but that should be the month it gets sent in and evaluated. It's worth the wait, trust me. Nothing ever goes as planned but if I had to guess, I'd say first half of 2012 is when it might drop. Hopefully earlier than later.
  12. That's coooool! You gonna figure out the track order yourself or is that open for brainstorming as well? :-D

  13. Year. I need to finish my "other" song for ya sometime. Which of the red ones are you keeping though, all of them?
  14. There once was a talented judge, But the judging of songs wouldn't budge, He got a new title He thought it was vital, But all it amounts to is fudge
  15. Re-enacted by chihuahuas. You can decide which chihuahua represents which person.
  16. ...pssstt... is there some kind of song/wip zip/folder/etc? cloud storage? i wanna listen :-D

might not hurt to share wavs, you never know what could happen with hard drives

  17. She also looks (and sounds) like Jennifer Tilly I take it back, she's totally hot
  18. Possibly the single meanest thing I've ever read on these forums Happy birthday, guys!
  19. Thanks a ton for your help, again! :-P

(I nominate this wall for the official "Thank you" wall)

  20. I don't think it's worth discussing for one reason: Nobody brought up these concerns before the conclusion of the contest, and nobody would have brought them up if Jill had won. On a related note I think my favorite entry was Matt Campana at 9th, though it's obvious he didn't adjust his latency at all hahah... I think that is one of the strongest of the top 20 anyway.. very unique voice.
  21. I'm sure they were listening more for potential and emotional expression when they picked Madeline, I could totally hear it. I loved the dynamics of her voice, how it would be fairly soft and then fade into a much stronger note. I felt that the expression was very well done, and disagree with people who say she didn't have control. It is really irrelevant whether her performance was perfect or not because she'll be working in a recording studio with professional staff -- the final performance will be spot on, and I fully expect, will be stunning. There were probably a lot of people who could have sung the theme very well, even beyond the top 20.. It's not nice, fair, or sportsmanlike to bash Madeline because she won. It's not a matter of "everyone else lost", it's a matter of the team finding the specific voice style that they wanted for their song, and going with that. Actually just went back and saw this, this sums it up pretty well in their own words: "We chose Madeline because we felt that she had a quality in her voice that inspired and moved us all. This was never going to be a contest about right or wrong, but about the 'perfect fit' and we were all deeply impressed with the submissions. The overwhelming response clearly proves that we made the right decision to find a voice among the Assassin's Creed fan community, and that there is a lot of undiscovered talent out there that deserves to be heard."
  22. I can understand where you're coming from bgc, but a lot of these people aren't professionals.. I could understand paying more for a professional but this is more like an "open audition" where people just walk in from the street and give it a chance. For all we know this could be a huge break for Madeline and lead to bigger and better things where she'll work with other games, maybe even TV and film work. I like the romantic idea of paying people to continue doing stuff you enjoy, I feel the same way. So naturally the lack of any sales or donations of my own music is a sign that I should stop now. I actually agree with you on the hobbyist vs. professional thing, we are at two opposite ends of the spectrum... so.. that's just my 2cents as someone who hasn't found the opportunity to get into the industry yet
  23. time zones *sigh* Don't be greedy, share that birthday! Happy birthday to all 4 of you yeah?
