  1. I forgot about Easter. I can't celebrate Easter or 4/20 in general cause I have to work
  2. You guys oughta figure out how to make it so you can get guest hosts so that talkback doesn't need to be cancelled There's lots of people who are somewhat regular on the show who could potentially do it. I think I remember hearing you guys don't do that because you'd have to give the password to someone. Well is there any way to work around that? Could you temporarily change the password, then change it back later?
  3. I'll edit out my first spot vote, but I'm not gonna vote for someone else because it would be ethically wrong to change the 1st place vote to someone (and I don't want anyone to feel like they coerced me into voting for them), so it'll be a vote for nobody, and the 2nd and 3rd place votes will stay the same In the future I won't vote for myself again and if that's the vibe you guys want with the compo and nobody voting for themselves then I support it 100%
  4. Because (a) im not a part of your system, ( i'm an adult, and © i threw it on the ground
  5. For what it's worth both chimpazilla and willrock told me I should have voted for myself in round 1.
  6. I been playing Infamous Second Son for PS4 and I gotta say I haven't done a single thing my character has done in that game.
  7. Hahah I love that anterrior did Safety Dance and Brotha Dom performed his like William Shatner, so good EDIT: Guys we gotta be careful that this doesn't turn into a joke song compo XD
  8. Or you could try to schedule a listening party with 8bitx... or hey, why not both.
  9. 1. What first encounter with VGM? What kind of effect do you remember it having on you? I played games ever since I was a little baby. Mega Man came out the year I was born and I played that, and I played Sonic the Hedgehog series a lot on the Genesis. But I don't remember actually encountering or noticing VGM until Final Fantasy VII on the PS1. It made me cry when Aeris died. 2. At what point do you remember considering yourself a VGM fan (or OCR fan) in relation to your first VGM experience? I think I started considering myself a vgm fan when I discovered OCR and started getting social on OCR maybe in 2001 or so. That's when it actually became listening to vgm as music specifically rather than just hearing it in games. 3. How did you hear about OCR? I don't remember. I was probably yahoo searching for game music midis or mp3s. 4. What do you feel would be some non-musical examples (fan art, videos, interpretive dance, horse racing, rock-throwing) of the OCR society? It's like the Mafia but with less rules. 5. How has VGM and OCR affected your life? Taught me to do what I want and love it even if I'm not appreciated. It makes me happy, so I do it.
  10. I'm reminded of the Don Corneo scene from Final Fantasy VII. I've never cross-dressed and infiltrated a place, not yet anyway. And all that running and constant jumping, ain't doing none of that.
  11. Pretty much man. I paid for Goat Simulator and it's pretty much the same as MGS: GZ
  12. Is that the editorial "we"? This is not true. Any number of things could contribute to artifacts, from added compression from lower bitrates (like on youtube) to a bad render or conversion. Not everyone owns high end audio systems so I don't think it is seen as as much of an issue even though it kinda is IMO. Well you just said VBR1 can go from 32 to 320. That's a pretty big difference and it varies depending on the song's dynamics whereas 320kbps CBR would not vary. Who are these common listeners you mention once in a while? Are they the remixers? I wouldn't suggest that 192kbps is good enough quality for all remixers or even listeners who aren't affiliated with OCR in any way. It's frankly a strange thing to assume. We live in an age where people effortlessly grab FLAC versions of albums - why? because they can, they have the storage space and the bandwidth, so why not? It makes no sense to cater to some lowest common denominator of casual listeners in a community of audiophiles while making the assumption that casual listeners are also not audiophiles. I'd like to see OCR move towards WAVs and away from FLACs, but I can agree with this. I'm not sure if I would refer to us as consumers, but I get where you're coming from.
  13. I saw this question in a picture on some website, but it didn't have any particular answers, and I thought it'd be interesting to see what people say.
  14. Can I use your axe to destroy mine? Mine's made of uhhh.... ring stuff.
  15. I wanted to do an OCRI release for FFCC but then I got too worried about submitting too many albums to OCR
  16. Sometimes that's all it would take for an album to BLOW UP. Directed by djpretzel, remixed by literally everyone. I support this endeavor. My mix still exists... I think... It was "done" but that was back when I sucked.
  17. Bilbo Baggins! Don't take me for a conjurer of cheap tricks, I am not trying to rob you! ...I'm trying to help you. I just haven't had time yet.
  18. I just turned in mine. I recorded the main vocal line twice exactly the same so that it'd have that neat doubled sound.
  19. Conando! Dios mio! Definitely not the best but hey, it had OCR in it so who cares!
