I liked the old one better. There's too much rain and the water on the owl itself makes it look like it has frosting on it, or it was cumshot. The rain looked better in the old picture. For comparison... the old one has much better lighting, the new one is too dark and has too heavy contours. And the rain looks much more natural in the old one. It's hard to even tell it's an owl in the new picture. You've paid more attention to detail in the new one but less to the overall impression, I think. And I like the sketchy style of the old one over the more cartoony of the new one.

I fixed the timings on the playlist file. I used the same rules as for SPC's, namely: 1. Any song that loops plays until the looping part comes, and then that loop is played twice. Then it fades out for 10 seconds before the next song starts. 2. Any non-looping songs play until they end. If I've looped any song more or less than twice, tell me.

bLiNd deeeelivers! Though personally I think the reverb is a little excessive. -
I think his position is good but maybe you could extend the handle somehow? Definitely don't move him down, then it'll look like he has a penis instead. And I don't like the parrot approach, I doubt owls ever sit like that. Otherwise you could just try to move his feet together, they're pretty far apart... look at these two, it's nearly got one foot on top of the other because they're so tight. http://www.h2oguide.ca/archives2006/branch_owl.jpg http://i.pbase.com/o4/13/6313/1/60928178.gho200636x.jpg Another idea is to have it sit on one foot, a lot of birds do that when it's cold. Don't know about owls. Owls are funny looking, thankfully the one you drew isn't (aside from the nippleness that is). I read recently that they had to kill one around here because it had moved into an urban area and started eating all the cats in the neighborhood. Apparently a 28 pound one managed to escape alive though.

Yeah, obviously, since they're not mammals, owls don't have nipples, but it sure looks like this one does. Especially since the rounded contours around them look like human male chest muscles. Also, the handle on the sword is very short, I don't think Link could fit his hand on that. It's also a little thin, the owl doesn't seem to actually be grasping it. But your style is nice, it looks like something E.P. Shepard would have drawn.

Awesome. But that poor thing is freezing, I can see his nipples...

MM3 Sparkman - 'cause MM3 doesn't get enough love here...
Dafydd replied to Gario's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I was about to say that, but it could be a good idea to run it by one of the judges in private to iron out any no-brainers if any exist. If this one doesn't pass I'll bet it's because of production issues and then it might be a good idea to ask someone who knows a lot about those things before actually submitting it. And Zircon seems like the obvious first choice. Try getting a hold of him on AIM, that's where I usually find him... and be prepared to nag -

I can't even get the last version to play after I download it, in WMP nor Winamp. And the playing feature on box just keeps saying "loading". EDIT: Apparently, I can't use Reason and any media player at the same time? Wtf?? Anyway, I don't know what Rayza was getting at and I don't suggest you wait for him to return and tell or say "Will pass OCR judgment.". I think some instruments are too loud, blocking out many others. Production is a little too muddy, I think, to have a chance to get past the judges. I also really don't like the snare, and the kick isn't lovely either. Instead of the snare you have now, that sounds like a synth imitation of a real one, try using one of those standard trance ones or a clap. You do use a clap in the weaker sections but it's not very good either. Don't be afraid to layer your own drums with drumloops. I think you should try to get Zircon to listen to this. He's a friendly sort, and should have some good advice. -
I need to change my desktop speakers for something better. They've always stunk but now I've really grown tired of them. 2 ugly, small ones that sound like crap, but I usually wear headphones anyway (but they too are worn to pieces and not that good anyway). I might consider getting a nice set of headphones instead of new speakers though. That might actually be a better idea. I don't think I'll be buying anything that's more than $100 though. Suggestions?

Perhaps you should mention that bit about the filename. And then again maybe not. I could, of course, put both the gbs and the m3u in a zip and have you link to that instead... but first I'll get the timings fixed.
-
I wish I'd known about this earlier... apparently, it's possible to make playlists with gbs tracks. I made one for this game, including only the songs in the tracklist in the first post, giving them the same names, and putting them in the same order, but without adding the extra info about who's remixing what etc. I also haven't limited the play time for any of the tracks to anything but 2 minutes with a 10 second fadeout. Yet. The gbs file must be named "ZELDA.gbs" and be put in the same folder as this m3u file to work however, and obviously, you can't open the m3u file in windows media player, only in winamp, and with chipamp installed. Get it now! And this should really be in the first post too. I really hated clicking on "next" 73 times to hear the windfish theme...

I wonder if you'll still be around when we'll finally need it...

Is a Pentium M@2GHz faster than a P4@2.4GHz? I had no idea. I agree you need a new motherboard, since you need to upgrade your ram, or at least get more of it (512MB isn't a lot these days). Unfortunately I don't think the processor will work with a newer motherboard even though they use the same socket... but a new, low-range dual core processor is cheap, especially the AMD ones. I don't think they're all better than the one you have though. And you definitely need a new graphics card if you do anything graphics-intensive, such as cad. Your old card is probably AGP (and thereby incompatible with newer motherboards) anyway. But like has already been said, it doesn't need to be expensive at all. I think you should be able to pull together something decent for less than $400. And by that I mean something that will last until you graduate. You haven't really given any real indication about how much you can afford to spend... I managed to build a pretty sweet rig for about $1000 (partly out of used parts), which is probably too much for you. Technically, I suppose you could say that by getting a new cpu, motherboard, ram and graphics card you've effectively gotten yourself a new computer... but if you buy "a new computer" you'll be getting stuff you don't need and not the stuff you want and you'll be paying extra for it too. Sometimes there are "upgrade packages" that come at nice prices though (i.e. the stuff previously mentioned, no chassi or windows).

Seriously though... this is pretty outdated. -
Why not 1. *sneak sneak* 2. *pulls sword out of sheath* [Ninjalike] HAIIIII- 3. [Piratelike] -ARRR!! *burp* And then again why. I was going to say what DJP said... the adjective definitions he found fit pretty much any pirate, don't they?

After this many years, there are still no remixes of Iceman, Gutsman or Fireman. Come on Also, one of the music composers for this game is a woman?? Awesome!

Yes, well, the other fans on my motherboard are also 3-pinned, but on 3-pinned connectors, and they can be controlled by the motherboard anyway. I forget if it's about voltage or amperage control... And according to the manufacturer of the cpu fan "most" motherboards are capable of controlling fan speed without a 4th pin (although I'll have to agree I think they're lazy not to make their cpu fan 4 pinned for greater compability). I just recently read about this one guy who had a 4-pinned cpu fan but a 3-pinned connector on his motherboard, i.e. the opposite of what I have. Weird, ain't it? Anyway, I noticed this subject is in that long list of yours so I guess it'll be covered soon enough. There was something I didn't see in that list but I forgot what it was so I'm gonna have to post again when I remember. Looks like there'll be plenty of time for that though.
-
All I really want to know right now is how to make my 3-pin connector CPU fan stop running at maximum speed 24/7. The mainboard seems unable to control it by any other means than PWM, and if I put the CPU fan cable on a fan connector on the mainboard other than the one intended for CPU fans, I might be able to control it to a degree but still not have it automatically adjust its speed according to CPU temperature. I'd like some input on this (and not just "get a 4-pin cpu fan").

I just got some really good ideas for track 3. Fun facts - incidentally, the chord progression in the chiptune is identical to that of the recent remix "Tant Mieux" for a few measures. It also begins almost exactly like the intro in Mega Man 2... Anyway. I'll probably make my version even if it doesn't get to be on the project. But the tracklist in the first post should indicate that the windfish theme isn't unclaimed.
