  1. There was another one around here, but it was removed... what's wrong with lyrics anyway?
  2. Anything made by this guy can be instantly recognized to have been made by him - this piece is certainly no exception. Interesting to hear this theme remixed into his style.
  3. I tried this song a long time ago but gave up. Here's what I did then. Yours is a really evil remix, by the way. Even though it was naturally better than mine, I didn't like it that much, other than the mean leads you used (and well too).
  4. Normally, I'd tell you to just go with the flow and do what everyone else does - post a link to the NSF and tell people the track number. There doesn't seem to be an NSF of this around though. However, this recording really sucks. The bassline is seriously fucked up, it's transposed like one semitone down, it sounds totally apesweat. Try another emulator or something.

There are 2 links on this page to pikmin soundtracks...
  6. First off, you should stick with your own name as your artist name, if you don't already. Arthur van Dijk sounds a lot better than DJ Arthur, and like a DJ name already (compare it to Paul van Dyk, Jeff van Dyck etc. ). Also, the name of your hometown means "Santa's little nail-hammering helper" in Swedish. Hahahaha Now... the song isn't very DJ like at all... not that this is a problem in any way. The instrument playing at the beginning doesn't really sound like a guitar, more like a harp, at least the melody parts. The bass still sounds like a guitar, so maybe change that for a harp? Harp+strings+glockenspiel (or whatever that mallet instrument is) make a good combo. The strings in the background are a little slow and artificial, so while, beautiful, they sound like something from a cheap restaurant background music cd. Don't leave the strings out in the open. Really cool arrangement overall though.
  7. Wow... well, people here just aren't too big on midis, as you could imagine. Personally, I think this is pretty nice, I can definitely see why you'd want to find a banjo-kazooie font for this. I don't know what software you're using but one thing that you'll just have to fix once you've found the right sounds/soundfonts and feel ready to make an mp3 out of this is reverb. Things sound really flat without it and since this is an "orchestrated" piece, more or less, you'd really need things to sound realistic, which isn't going to happen without (a little) reverb. By the sound of this piece, you have a lot of musical talent. I would suggest getting some kind of better software. Don't let midi hold you back.
  8. So yeah. This song was made entirely using Reason's subtractor synths (and effectors), except the guy speaking at the beginning. What a terrible actor he is, too... and for whatever reason it sounds like his echo is "gay", not "game". Hmph. I think by the song's length it's obvious I plan to develop it more, so I'd really appreciate comments on production and mixing more than anything else (though if you have anything to say about anything at all, I'd appreciate that too). Also, I'm aware that there are some dissonant transitions and the likes - it's the same in the original source tune. I'm not sure whether to keep it like that or to change it into something more pleasing to the ears. Teh mix. For anyone who wants to try this game, it's like 300-400 kB and... well, it's out there. There's also a of it in case you just want to take a look at it and hear the original source tune. I used to play this a lot as a kid on my 286 with an amazing 20+10MB of hard drive and 512kB RAM.Screenshots:
  9. Megaman (Gameboy) LT: Yeah, these are good. I'm assuming they're MM1 for the Game Boy? Just let me know when you have a chance. Yeah, Megaman 1. That's what I wrote right above the images. I'm pretty sure the megaman graphics are identical in all the gameboy megaman games (like they're the same in all the NES ones), but I could be wrong. Though, MM5 (and maybe MM4, too) was designed for the color gb, and I don't know what he would look like then. But this is definitely how he looks in the first 3. Ahaha! Awesome video.
  10. The reason why Prime sucks is because you have to play it using a freaking controller and aim with a joystick. Come on. Prime would have been sweet if you had been able to use a mouse. Generally, first-person games and jumping around on platforms is a really bad combination, but especially so if you don't have a mouse to aim and look around with. GoldenEye007 would be the best FPS out there had it been played on a computer with a mouse, but it still works on the N64. Metroid Prime was just stupid, it was like playing Doom with a keyboard again except you had to jump around a lot more. Super Metroid is a 2D platformer, possibly one of the best ever, and like most games in its genre it plays better with a controller than with a keyboard and a mouse. Metroid Prime does not. Seriously, who here plays Half-Life or CounterStrike using a joystick? Or a gamepad? There's no reason why a game like Metroid Prime wouldn't have worked well on a computer. It wasn't a bad game.
  11. Didn't know that, no. I'm more used to it being referred to as "baguette", and occasionally "baguette magique". Finding examples of usage such as "prendre qn à la baguette" in dictionaries and reading what it means makes me giggle hard. I still don't get the joke though. How is the dick a lie? More like "how many times has Zircon done it?"
  12. Wow, attachment lightboxes. And stuff. Looking good!
  13. A wall of sound is exactly what I use the hellspawn for. Well, at least you know about it. If you don't wanna use it, that's your choice, and if you've made the conscious choice not to use it, I'm not gonna tell you you did made the wrong choice. To me, the tronicshred sounds very nice, but it's got more of a muted sound.
  14. La queueueueueueue est quoi?
  15. The distorted drums don't sound right. Try something more metallic and cymbal-oriented. The distorted guitars... are obviously fake. By the sound of the piano, I'm guessing you're using Reason. If you do, there's a combinator patch named "hellspawn guitar" that would fit pretty well where you have a distorted guitar now. It's still going to sound fake, but better.
  16. Looks like all the years of judgehate is finally paying off. Now all we need is some davehate to get the "to be posted" queue to match the "to be judged" queue. I wonder how many people around here have a "to be submitted" queue... Oh, and, btw, if there are three judges with no remixes left to vote on, those still listed under "to be judged" must have gotten at least one yes vote, right?
  17. Working in tandem is fine by me. I just thought you had enough to do already.
  18. The rar is 95% of the original mp3 filesize. If you can't spare that much space, you should either clean up in your server space or consider posting one or 2 songs to be reviewed at a time. No one is going to listen to all 4 and give you comments on each.
  19. Errr.... yah. I wonder what the odds for that are... I have x191 though, you guys have x791. A sign? What else is spooky is that users 2,3,4,and 6 don't exist... haha... and that Aetherius is user #13.
  20. Yeah, though DJP approved of this from the start, he might have forgotten about it by now. Haha
  21. Ahaha This is actually pretty cool. I love the graphics. Always had a hard time importing external graphics into GF, but nevermind. Speaking of 2D shooters... www.ngst.nu/kastabajs.exe If you like the kind of game you've just made, you should try Interpose...
  22. The dungeon music from Zelda 3 was covered wonderfully in one of the cut-scenes in Twilight Princess. It would be interesting to hear a sound upgrade of the Fortune Teller theme... haha
  23. Speaking of Pac-Man... Why not just add rather than exchange? In case the old link starts working again, I mean. You gather them up, I send the PM. This is my project, and I wi... want to do it. No, seriously, go ahead and send it. Liontamer is taking a while, so I guess the time has come to try the top floor. Sending them to both is a good idea though. Now... I have nothing to say, really, other than "sorry for taking so long" and all that. But, I would like you to ask them how the wikification is going to be done. Can any of us be given wiki accounts to upload the bios? And, would it be nice to have them uploaded in time for them to be given as sort of a christmas present to the community? Or would djp rather wait until the next version of OCR (I heard him mention recently that a new one was "in the works")?
