  1. Yo. Here are two screendumps. The first one is at the beginning, when you're still in a plane (I think that's where you are). There's no light on anything, and the only visible texture seems to be the 2 pairs of eyeballs floating in mid-air there. Next, the jungle/beach. The sand and the rocks have textures, but nothing else. The debris and the vegetation is invisible, clipping, or showing up on the wrong distance - they come closer faster than the ground does as you walk. The gun is rendered twice, like many other things, the water has texture some of the time, and there appears to be a line through the middle of the screen, as if some layers of the screen have been rendered on only half of it or something. Either way, it's really fucked up. I have the newest drivers from nVidia for my GF6800GT. What else do I need to make things... "normal"?
  2. Oh. Ok, um, I meant I'd do the fifty that were in the batches of 10 that I (and, recently, you) have been doing over these last few months. I think the other 100 are in text files that Polo's been doing himself. So if you take half of those...
  3. Yeah, it's not like only one wikipedia article can be edited at a time. I'll do the text file ones, then, once we get started. And sorry for misunderstanding you earlier, Lin - but he said he would send the guidelines in a PM... EDIT: Now that I think about it, I never actually got a password for my wiki account...
  4. Strange how this wasn't pulled in any of the lockdowns. Sure it's not an easy piece to play and the recording quality is good enough, but it's really annoying how it doesn't really play the actual melody, only almost, and sometimes not really at all.
  5. I actually agree with KogeJoe, but I don't know this source tune well enough to be bothered by it in this particular mix. It does bother me when people screw up the chord progressions in mixes of songs like the Dark World (Zelda 3) or Big Blue (F-Zero) themes, mostly because it doesn't sound like reinterpretation, but rather, misinterpretation.
  6. Think you could forward the info you got in your PM to me? I still haven't got one. I have an activated account at the wiki, but no guidelines or anything. How are we going to do this anyway? Can someone who knows how to make wiki pages make one to use as a template (if anything needs to be changed from the ones we already have in .txt files), and then we split the work up so that we do 50 or so each to begin with and then whoever gets done with his share first can help the others with theirs if he wants to? Also, and LT might have said something about this in his PM, but, are we going to make pages in the wiki named i.e. "mascot046" and then redirect thpse pages directly to their respective wiki article i.e. "Joanna_Dark" in order to facilitate things for DJP in his making the mascot images on the site header into links to the wiki articles?
  7. So, still no PM, go figure Is there no way to just restrict our accounts so that we can't access the whole wiki?
  8. Does that boulder dash guy really need a background? I think he'd be fine without...
  9. I got the e-mail. Nice to see the ball is finally almost rolling! Looking forward to those guidelines - it really would be nice to get this done before christmas. I understand your concerns about the other areas of the wiki - I'll stay out - promise. Man, I'm really looking forward to wrapping this thing up... na'mean?
  10. Yeah, that's what I kept saying for months on end without actually doing anything, so I can't really blame LT for this thing taking so long. Personally, I want this up as soon as possible for the sake of the site, and for the fact that... well, we're finally done, and even so, no one can enjoy the fruits of our (though not so much mine, actually) hard labor until the bios are uploaded into the wiki. And it would make a sweet christmas present for the community. I think. How complicated would it be to set up a few restricted accounts for the wiki anyway? Is it a technical issue or an organizational issue? Or a security one?
  11. For each of the redrum channels, there's a little switch right next to the "length" knob that sets the decay/gate mode. It can be set to the thing that looks like a hat (mode 1) or the thing that looks like... uh... a thorn (mode 0). If the switch is set to the mode 1, the sample will only play for as long as the note in the sequencer. Either make the notes in the sequencer longer or set the switch to mode 0. That should be it.
  12. I'd have problems if I tried using that as a sound card.
  13. Probably not. I'm not an Overclocked Remixer, after all. I have about 13ms and couldn't tell the difference from that and 5ms, or 20ms. I used to run about 50ms (huge piano refill, in case you're wondering), and I actually learned to compensate for the lag by playing the notes in advance of the beat (it happened by itself), so to me it was no difference. Although there's a certain satisfaction in having things happen the instant you press the button, playing a keyboard and hearing the sound 13 ms later is the same to me as hearing it immediately. It's probably got more to do with me being a neanderthal than me not knowing anything about computer mixing (which, of course, a neanderthal probably wouldn't).
  14. I'd suggest some more RAM just in case, but I guess that depends on what kind of music you're making... I don't know. However, 13,5 ms isn't "very high" latency. That's barely enough to even notice. Even a professional counter-strike player wouldn't complain about that kind of a latency when playing a match. This thread should probably be moved to the "remixing" forum...
  15. This song is so ominous and cozy. You can listen to it by downloading the soundtrack from here and a winamp plugin from here, or better still, get Chipamp if you don't have it already. Someone should remix it...
  16. That's weird. You'd think the samples would be high pitched so they take less space (an spc can only be 32kB, after all).
  17. Ok, those guitars are awesome. But the drums aren't real, are they? Even though very nicely arranged, they're a little weak, and this song would have been better still with some "rawer" drums - particularily the snare drum feels a little "held back". Also, the drums are so perfectly in tempo all the time, unlike the guitars, which causes a little friction (see what I did there?) between the live and the non-live parts. Other than that... nice work!
  18. Dhsu.age++; Happy barfday! (in case you intend to get really drunk)
  19. So... what? It doesn't run windows?
  20. The weirdest thing happened with a .wrk file I'd made - it went corrupted, but then, years later, it started working again. I've also noticed some .rsn files made with patched versions of Reason 3 will cause a "file corrupted" error when opened in Reason 3.0.0. Are you sure it's not a similar issue? I don't know what you used to make this, but it could be worth a try... maybe it's the other way around, maybe you patched your software and the old project file won't work with the new patch or something. I honestly don't think it would be accepted, but submit it anyway - the judges can give you advice like we do and you'll know what to think about when making your next mix. The waiting time for getting a mix rejected is pretty short these days. It's when your mix gets accepted that you have to wait... *peeks at judging forum* oh, yeah, when you submit something to ocr, you'll have to wait A (in case your mix was rejected): about the time you'll have to wait to see whether your girl got impregnated after you submitted your... sperm. B (in case you mix was accepted): about the time you'll have to wait until a baby pops out. Heh. Yeah, there's an accepted submission dated March that still hasn't gotten posted... though there's probably a reason why it's taken so long.
  21. It's been a while, but I'm not sure I understood they were both male... I don't see how they could cut them out entirely, they were so important to the plot, at least as I remember it. They'll probably fuck it up, but at least the movies bring a little more attention to the books. Very rarely does a movie actually outdo the book it's based on - but you try reading that trilogy in 6 hours (or the LOTR one in 9).
  22. Oh, cool. I'd heard of him, but not of them. I'm actually planning on launching some kind of website for chiptune-to-chiptune remixes, and it would be really cool to have some of your and his stuff on there (plus my own, even though I haven't made much yet...)
