Here's a link to the actual song he wants remixed (I think), click where it says "You have selected 01.mp3. To begin downloading this file, click here": http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/802/1 Personally, I love the soundtrack, but I don't really know how it should be remixed... out of ideas
-
Those are some nice graphics. I have a song I made a few years ago that fits the style... I'll see if I can dig it up. EDIT: Well, I sent you a pm with a link. I think the song would do well as a boss bgm or something...

I think you should post a link to the soundtrack in the first post. Here it is: http://hcs64.com/usf/ (usf soundtrack page) http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/130 (mp3)

We're running one, but I can't say we're really working on it. Too much schoolwork, I guess. Also, a remix project doesn't work itself out, it needs remixers, and there's too many projects going on right now and too few interested people.

OverClocked ReMix Design ?'s and Issues
Dafydd replied to Liontamer's topic in Site Issues & Feedback
Hi I'm running Firefox 2 and sometimes while browsing forums, it tries to download php pages like files instead of opening them like a page. I'm not getting this problem with html pages and it only happens sometimes, but when it does, it gets really annoying. What can I do to stop this from happening? -
Well, thanks!
-
Gotcha. I'll start working on this as soon as I can.

Hi. I'm working on lyrics for a remix, and I'm uncertain about the meaning of the following line: "...and now the sun sets on the world you saved today". What I want to say is "you saved the world, and now the long day is at an end". So, are people more likely to interpret this as "you saved the world, but your hard work was futile, because the world has come to an end anyway" ? Is the meaning of it context-dependent or absolute? What is the exact meaning of "the sun sets on..." ? Would it make a difference if I used "...and now the sun sets on the day that you have saved" instead, or would this cause the same kind of dilemma? Would it be more adequate to say "...and now the sun sets in the world you saved today" to avoid confusion? Thanks for any help... and sorry if this in the wrong forum

OCR01550 - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney "This Feeling"
Dafydd replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Hey, man... I just wanted to say - congratulations! Really, glad you finally made it. -
I really liked the soundtrack of the PC version of that game, even though none of it was written for the game... I'll see if I can find the gameboy soundtrack somewhere and listen to it. I'm not saying I'll remix it for you, but thanks for the tip.

Why are there so few decent Chrono Trigger remixes?
Dafydd replied to Hal_Emmerich's topic in ReMix Requests
I think the problem is you're trying to redefine the meaning of the word "decent". Most people would think saying something is "not decent" is like saying something is "bad". Anyway, asking remixers to keep the source tune's atmosphere around here is like... missing the point. Even official rearrangements of game soundtracks don't do this sometimes. Calling remixes that don't "not decent" could hardly be taken as anything but an insult to the remixers, even if I agree there's no harm done in keeping the atmosphere. To be honest, sometimes I feel like the site's requirement that a remix must be interpretive forces some people to make gratuitous reinterpretations of the source tunes in order to have their mix accepted to the site, and I also hold little interest in most of the remixes that are so "reinterpretive" that you can barely make out the source tune, but that do keep the general atmosphere of the game - but - saying that remixes that are reinterpretive are "not decent" and putting them all in the "not decent bag" is just... wrong. I think there are lots of remixes on the site, new and old, that don't live up to my ideals - I find them boring or uninteresting, if not poorly composed. Crappy drums, misinterpretations (not reinterpretations, mind you) of the source's chord sequences or melodies etc. ad infinitum. There are probably a large number of good remixes that don't live up to the judge panel's ideals regarding sound quality that we never get to hear because the submitter never improves the sound quality to where the panel would have it (I would be one of those submitters if my remixes were good). So, considering the number of Chrono Trigger mixes on the site, how could anyone not be disappointed by some of them? Also, If your remixes aren't good enough for OCR, that's OCR's problem. Remixing just to get your face on the front page of OCR won't get you anywhere. Make your own remix and make it yours, then try to get it posted here. Don't try to suck up to the judges by buying better equipment than you need (and by that I don't mean they want you to). When remixes submitted to OCR are designed, and created only to please the judges, OCR is as dead as the western hemisphere of the Eurovision Song Contest, culturally speaking. That said, I'm not saying using expensive equipment won't help you get your remix accepted... -
That number should be 149, since chrono appears twice, but what about the others? Which ones are missing? EDIT: #54, Dr. Wily, isn't in the list... also, Samus eventually ended up with one bio, but she has 2 mascot images. Same goes with princess Zelda... or did she? Anyway, that should count for 150 - 1 chrono - 1 samus - 1 dr. wily - 1 princess zelda + 1 what are the darkstalkers = 147... Hmmmm. Anyway, I can no longer update the first post, because it exceeds the maximum length for a post (new rules that came with vBulletin, which I'm liking less and less), and changing it and saving it requires me to cut off the last 3000 characters. Bleh.

any progress being made anywhere?
-
That's... cool. We got done anyway. Thanks for your help
-
I'm working on water world... that song is really nice. I won't be done in a long time, though. Strange how little attention this game has gotten as far as remixing goes, really.
-
Sounds like a good idea. I'll try that. Thanks! Though, what is this new php page supposed to contain? The code that doulifee posted in #2? That one doesn't contain a sendmail() though, does it? ... I'm so confused about all this. EDIT: I got help and it works now. Thanks!
-
You go on. I'd like to see one of the ones you've edited though, just so I can keep the layout consistent.
-
The main lead is out of tune, I think... it's also very uncrunchy compared to the backing guitar. The drums are really not what they should be. Other than that, pretty sweet. Really nice solo
-
kickin'. Seriously, this should be submitted soon. The judges will probably have a few issues with the mixing (they always do) but other than that, this belongs on the site.

Interesting mix... Yeah, things are a little out of tune, and the rhythm instruments are not much fun. Work a little more on those salsa rhythms and I'm sure this could turn into something really cool. Also, congratulations to GaMeBoX for getting his second remix accepted to OCR.

LOL I have photoshop, too, you know. megaman4inlayrz4.png was pretty nice, but it should be darker and that solar explosion - well there should be so much less of it. megaman4inlay1nu3.png was actually better than any of the others, to be honest...

We're almost done, man. I've finished my exams now. Tomorrow I'll read through some bios and link to them in the first post. When we have a few up, I'll contact LT.

at 00:57-1:00 or so, I'm pretty sure the vibes (or whatever it is) is playing a C# while the melody plays a D, which doesn't work when you're playing in the A# key. In this same section, the melody is too loud imo, it's like it's playing a melody here but it's really just playing a "riff"... The volume levels are in general very good in this song, you have instruments entering the mix and leaving again in a very nice and smooth way, but this one 3 second section kinda... you know. Just lower the volume on this melody part here, or remove one of the instruments playing it and see if you don't agree it's better that way. Please? The dissonance reoccurs in 1:05-1:06 and probably in more places in this section, but briefly enough not to bother me. And then the same thing happens in 3:36 (the piano, but it's not so bad this time) The whole mix sounds south American for some reason btw, like it's a remix of an Aztec theme or something. Can't really explain why, but it's cool. Also, the "fi" in final looks a lot like "A" with winamp's font... Well, the drums and the bass play the same 2-second loop the whole way through the song, which makes the whole song pretty boring. I also think you could beef that bass up at some point with one that doesn't have hardly any reverb at all. All in all, the song's very repetitive, there's no break or change anywhere. Seriously, making a good remix within 24 hours is hardly possible even for a professional. Let the mix lie and wait for you for a week or so, listen to other music, analyze it, listen carefully and closely and then go back and look how you can improve your own song, that's my best advice. Also, the album inlay you made looks a little cheap - the lens flare is overdone and not very pretty. Your sig image looks much better. The idea was pretty nice though, I like the blue color.
